@@crucified-music Yeah, can't really agree with you there, man. Every Texas hot Antiquity pickup I've ever purchased has been above and beyond amazing. Also, how the hell do you know that they're not good? They may not be your cup of tea, but they haven't even shipped yet, dude.
@Crucified Music lmfao, I have multiple CS strats and Josephina 69s, my Bonnie set is incredible and most of my CS pups ( although great [ thankfully none of that Texas Special bs ] ) can't compare. The Bonnie's are LOUD and clear
I was a Duncan endorser back in the early to mid 1980’s when I was playing guitar with Jerry Reed. Seymour treated us incredible. He even rewound the bridge humbucker on my 5-string electric mandolin. Thank you.
Put it in the amp fund boys and girls. Save save save, then buy the very best amp you can. Think of what has really improved over the years. Trust me, I am a hotrodder of guitars with the best of them, but you won't get the big changes until you get the good amp and a quality signal chain which includes pots, caps and switches. 400 bucks of pickups isn't gonna go far with five bucks of wiring, the guitar cable from a strat pack and a Line 6 spider.
i have the pickups now. with the right setup, its sounds virtually identical to my MarkFoley 5s4 (pre Cbs) pickups which sounds really really good! true Pre CBS sound! kudos to MJ and Duncan CS team! 🙌🏻🎉
@@seymourduncan update, the Cradle Rock sounds way way better than the Mark Foley pre cbs pickups. Super transparent and it feels better too! way more vintage correct sound imo. 🙌🏻
I'm in agreement, that every guitar needs different things to bring out the best in its natural frequencies. Identify the strong and weak characteristics it has naturally, then accentuate the desirable tones and eliminate the not soo great frequencies. Very seldom does ANY guitar have it all right from the get go. You gotta work at it usually. If you know what your after, it makes things much easier.
NEW AMP AND NEW PUPS. JOE, WE'RE IN A FUCKING RECESSION....That said, ofc I just bought them. It's like JB Pokémon, gotta have them all. I have Bonnie, Amos, Skinner, Magellan, and now Cradle. ❤
I own a ash body strat that has a rosewood fingerboard and it sounds really good. The pickups are the Seymour Duncan Antiquity Strat Texas Hot but the bridge pickup is now a neck pickup because the original Antiquity Strat Texas Hot bridge pickup was too hot to my ears at 9.8 KOhms. I bought an additional Antiquity Strat Texas Hot neck pickup (6.3 KOhms) that I installed at the bridge position and the guitar is now perfectly balanced. And the magnets of these Antiquity Strat Texas Hot pickups are Alnico 2 magnets that sound great with an ash body Strat.
@bryangarcia662 great pickups. Got a very forward profile, if that makes sense. Good mids, nice thump in the bass. No ice pick like a 50s pickups. In comparison to 69s, much more girth, slightly less transparency. Really good separation under gain.
Been waiting for a Joe set of pickups for a while. Just bought a new strat, Amazing timing!
Update - Pre-ordered a set. Thank you, Joe. Thank you, Seymour + crew!
Jon Malenock thanks for the support!

Wow David is a blast from the past! Good to see you around still.
Joe is the one player my ears perk up when he talks about tone. Hes a master imo.
him and Eric Johnson. The only TRUE masters of tone.
Seconded 👍 of to see him play again next week . Can’t wait
I can't believe there is not a single video in UA-cam of Joe performing Cradle Rock using this Strat.
I met Joe in 2017. He is an amazing gentleman
Indeed he is.

These words he speaks are true, were all humanary stew, if we don't pledge allegiance to, the Black Widow!
I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that most of us who are buying Seymour Duncan Custom Shop pickups have already got at least one great amp.
Just got my set in the mail. Absolutely stoked to get my new partscaster together. Hopefully in time for my 5F1 Champ clone :)
Rock and roll baby!
Update?
How have you liked these so far?
Bought these and they are the best single coil Stratocaster pickups hands down!!!
i've got 2 sets of them. both sounds different. 😂 but they sure are good pickups
Joe is the leader of this guitar revolution we have going.
You're gonna send me to the poorhouse JB
I picked up a set of these. #733.
These are pretty great.
I installed them in an Ultra Luxe strat.
Quite nice.
Did you not like the ultra noiseless?
7 months on, how are you getting along with these?

Amazing sound!! Love it
Super cool sounds. How sweet to compare a real 1963 to these...possible post for Joe?

just bought no.424. i hope they sounds like real 63 strat. now waiting for my guitar.
Seymour Duncan, the only pickups I use.
Thanks Gerry!
SRV no 1 was not a 63. I like Joe but like many in the business is a lobit guitarded.
SRV no 1 : 59 pickups, 62 neck, 63 body.
Don’t need it but boy I sure as shit want one.

Are these high ouput? Excuse my lack of knowledge! Im new to swapping pickups
Hi! These are more LOW output style pickups, as are most single coil pickups that are based on vintage guitars
Can you please tell me when the Bludgeon pickups will be available?
Thank you :)
Make sure you are subscribed to our newsletter over at seymourduncan.com ;)
Ive got a ac30 flynn amps hawk pedal based on rorys range master and a dy guitars Rory Gallagher tribute guitar 899
SRV's '63 had pickups from '59, or so I have read.
There isnt one single vid demostrating these pickups. Absolutely sad. Why?
guess you arent selling individually ? wouldnt mind a middle pickup for a nashville tele
Unfortunately, these are limited to only 1,000 sets. Thanks for your interest!
Seymour, Joe & Kevin Beller are the best! Knowledge & Integrity of vintage TONE!
WOW
The Best sound strat.... Mj
Does this pups really can get me a 63 vintage strat tone?
SRV no 1 has 59 pickups, 62 neck, 63 body. I get it use a big name to sell.😁
I believe his pickups were 63's. Someone wrote the resistance on the back of his pickups "5.9" making him believe they were 59's
Well, Joe, an 805 IS actually a little green box, so, although most of know the reference, it does fit,😂. No harm, no foul. 🤘🏻
I never heard of SRV's guitar being a 63. Gary Moore's was a 63. SRV said his was a 59 and some said parts from a 59 and 62.
The guitar is a 63... the pickups are 59s
Those pickups sound just like my DiMarzio area pickups.
No 0896 arrived. Now on the hunt for for 6th Strat to put them in lol.

I would really love to know how it was sound at the fourth position
Where is the demo ? 🤷♂️
only pickups? no assembly?
Is that MJ standing off to the side in the workshop...
Can’t believe he’s playing through a 5150 ❤ brilliant , i bet Eddie is laughing like hell ! Great video , very insightful 👍
He’s not playing through that. It’s not even on. It’s just in the corner of the room. Lol
@@codytodd9773 it was a joke buddy , no offence was meant ! My apologies
Sorry to disappoint! He's playing out of the Fender Super Reverb that we have in the office!
He’s not. It’s the twin he’s plugged into.
$400 ?
Rory no1 forever
400 dollars kind of expensive
Rorys was 61
I'm a huge Joe Bonamassa fan but it seems like he is releasing a new gear every three weeks or something.
Joe plays Gibsons. Joe Tears up Fenders. A Master.
If this video was made three months ago, why is everyone still wearing mask?
What’s up with the Masks 🤔
Certain scenes were filmed in 2021 when masks were still OSHA required.
@@seymourduncan Seems like a long time ago💯
Rory is twice the guitarist joe is
Sounds like a strat should
Nice masks
Why can’t he just retire and not be seen or heard from ever again
What is up with the people wearing masks.
