Thank you taking the time to do this. I had to make a decision a few months ago. We were owners of a FWC Hawk since 2013. Loved all the places we went during that time with the F250. Getting up there in the age, it was getting more challenging loading/unloading after each trip. Shuffling stuff every time we stopped or getting ready to leave, got too much for us. We were fortunate to sell the entire rig to a young family that wanted a rig like ours. I'm now waiting for completion of the buildout of our Ford Transit 2024. Hopefully end Aug 2024. All of your comparisons were spot on and I had to make the same decisions about this change. Yes the cost is upwards of $150k if you want it done right. Happy trails to you and family!
@@freelyroaming we never bothered about YT just post when we get to it for a few friends and famerly so they can see we're we go always surprised others even watch our stuff unless they have sleep issues.

Making a video and pointing people to it made more sense. But playing the UA-cam algorithm game for subs and views is not really a commitment I am ready to take on!
This was very helpful. I’m between a truck camper and a van for a family of 5. We aren’t planning to full time, but plan to spend a few months on the road each year. How would you say your feedback would change if it was a hardsided truck camper vs a soft sided camper? I like the idea of the total composites hard sided truck camper.
I like the flexibility of a lower roof and the lighter weight. If I was to build another truck camper, I'd probably go with soft sides. Especially if it's just part time use. But ask me in a month and I might change my mind 😆
Hi, I have watched couple of your videos regarding shipping you camper van to euro which you posted years ago, thanks for the detail information, they are very helpful! I am planning to do the same next year, I see you had explained how you renew your registration for your campervan, but I have a question, did you notify DMV and insurance when you temp. export your van? Because I called the DMV in my state (NJ) and my insurance what I plan to do, they all said I have to cancel the state registration, return the plate and insurance, but I know we need the US license plate to drive in Europe, correct? Can you share you experience? Thanks!
Your local DMV does not understand what you are trying to do. I assume like us, you plan to bring the vehicle back to the US when you are done. Just as when you drive to Canada, you keep your registration and whatever else is required to be legal. Countries in Europe are the same. It is just a little farther away. Otherwise the procedure is very much the same.

I bought a used Boldt 4x4 with 7500 miles for $120k. I don’t think I could have built it for this price (I don’t have the skill to do that anyhow)
that is a great price considering they sell for twice that new.
