Beautiful as this is, please note that it's Somerville, not Boston. And it's more than just Davis Square, it also covers nearby Ball Square (20:22) which has some excellent breakfast diners (21:42).
Hi there, thanks for clarifying - Boston was put for general vicinity. I also have a video of Ball Square with the new green line subway/light rail station: ua-cam.com/video/NKy_TbpjCEA/v-deo.html Ball Square also has great little wine/beer shop - Ball Square Fine Wines.
@@navyseal1689 It didn't use to be a few years ago. And Europe is still full of these types of places as we still have relatively little diversity compared to the USA.
Most people living in that area definitely don't have their own private house; most of these homes are split into 2 or 3 or even 4 apartments. In fact Somerville is one of the most densely settled places in the country! Part of its charm though. It's a great location, I miss living there!
Hi - thanks for watching! Definitely come visit Boston sometime! Lots of history and pretty little neighborhoods! Autumn is very pretty here. if you come for snow, plan staying for a long time because your flight most likely will be delayed when trying to leave (from snowstorms).
Hey thank you for watching! I'm happy you enjoyed it! I actually moved to Boston from LA recently. I do miss some parts of LA and OC is was beautiful whenever I visited. 😀
@@RoamAmbie oh wow. Magical Disneyland wishes as the fireworks just ended I can hear & see them from my house. Blessings to you in Boston always and beyond amen.
I really like living here in the last couple of years…It’s such a lovely area and pedestrian friendly and Davis Square & porter square really convenient. Thanks for commenting!
I saw the title and I wondered to myself where the heck is Davis square in Boston?! Well you're a couple of towns away from Boston but that's okay, Somerville looks beautiful with the snow. I haven't been there in many years since my grandmother lived there and it's a lot like I remember.
My old haunts. I went to OT school in 97-2000 and lived in Somerville close to Tufts until 2009. Im in CA now...where I am originally from. I love both places -however I miss MA so much at times I think it will be too wierd for me to visit again.
Hi Mattdong1 - do you have any insight as to why almost every single yard here has a tiny fence/chain link fence in front? The fences sometimes only border about 2feet of yard in front of a house. I’ve lived in other cities and never came across this phenomenon…😜
@@RoamAmbie LOL totally why is that? Is it snow/weather -related somehow? Or is it a Boston thing - to keep the baddies out (in Boston accent) . Or maybe 'cause people gotta feel like they have their own slice of the pie
@@RoamAmbie There is such a peninsula of Crimea in the Black Sea. I live there in the city of Feodosia. I shoot a video and post it on my UA-cam channel. The weather in December is warm 41 59 °F . It snows in January and February. 🙂

There are definitely some rough areas in Boston. This video was taken at Davis Square, which is in Somerville, right outside of Boston and like a mile up from Harvard University. I heard it used to be very rough 10 years ago at Davis Square but it has really changed/generified since then.
@@RoamAmbie I grew up mostly in Davis Sq (Porter Sq for 6 years prior) behind the theater. Tufts University is in Medford/Somerville, not Harvard which is in Cambridge. I'd say it became desirable more like 30-40 years ago. Nice vid.

What a contrast to NYC , these red-brick buildings look so cool and relaxing. And everyone has its own private house, so nice. Liked it
It's a nice little town to live in and really don't need a car, everything (groceries, CVS. coffee, Target, etc.) is walkable.
