He ran it the same way he runs today 4 years later when he is a "veteran" at age 21. He literally toyed with the best of Europe and he was only 17!! He is now in the midst of becoming the greatest middle distance runner of all time. He will ultimately be even greater than El Gerrouj.
And he's done nothing but decimate everything he enters since. ALL the Ingebrigtsten children are ridiculous. Even the little sister is starting to turn herself into a world beater with their fathers tutelage. I think there are 2 older siblings that decided to not get into running, but still 3 out of 6 at world class levels and a 4th on her way is insanity. Probably the most gifted athletic family ever. Jakob is clearly the best of the bunch, but thats not to take anything away from Henrik and Filip, they are world class they just aren't quite as devastating as their younger brother.
They have a younger brother that is 8 I think, so he could be another world class runner. Having 1 sibling who is a world class runner is rare but 3 maybe 4 who are all possible top 100 in their respective year in atleast one event is crazy.
One of the older brother changed his diet and started running a couple of years ago with Henrik as coach. This autumn he did 1:18 on half marathon. Not bad for a guy that work full time as a lawyer, have a couple of young kids and weighted over 100kilogram when he started.
WOW, what a crazy shot as they came around that last turn with the three Norwegian jerseys in the inside and the three Brits in the outside! I’ve never seen a shot like that! Also- maybe Jakob is used to deferring to his older brothers and forgot he’s allowed to win 🤣.
@@ams906 Well, sounds strange, I know. But with noone challenging him, and then the sign showing 1 more lap, Jakob slowed down a bit instead of do a full sprint, Thats why they almost caught up with him.
Does anyone else think this was planned for the brothers to get Jakob his first world stage win? Filip just pulled up at the end and they all ran very strategically
it is his own fault. he underestimated opponents speed probably. if you run inside you risk being blocked, if you run outside, you effectively run longer distance. it is a coin toss basically.

@@johnbowden1140 You're making at least 2 mistakes. 1. Most people who watch this video will not be "fans." That's the mistake you're still making. They will be people who recently watched a video about running or racing, and got this video as a suggestion from UA-cam. They won't have heard of this race or the participants. 2. The other obvious mistake is to think it's fine to insult someone you don't know on UA-cam. Of course, people do this all the time, but that, as the saying goes, is what makes UA-cam comments the trailer parks of the Internet. Granted, I called your opinion about a particular point elitist, but I didn't call you a douche or claim you're elitist in general. The real issue here is simply your assumptions about who the typical viewer of this video is. It's people like Joseph Michael who didn't already know the results.
If they do not hit certain pace they should be pulled just like sprinters do for a false start. We would call this false running.. Every time they should be trying to set a track record at least.
No???? Distance running and sprinting are 2 different things u have to be stratigic to win, not the fastest in most cases, anddd a false start disqualification is completly different from disqualifying someone for not running "fast enough"
