I listen to this awesome podcast because not only is it fascinating, and I went to INDOC in 92, and…my 16 yo son shows interest today, When I was there it was OLH-MACOS, or the OL Hell…..and I spent along time there, on two different teams, and in the end got a massive sinus and ear infection- I was too immature to take it seriously- didn’t take my antibiotics…and just assumed all the military was like INDOC so the consequences of not finishing didn’t impact me while there until after I get put into Security Police (security forces later). Security Forces certainly benefits from the wash-outs! OLH back then was dormed in these old wooden barracks by the bridge going to Wilford Hall, with a mud pit outlined by some railroad wood. This podcast is awesome and I use it to inform my son. Some of my biggest mentors to this day in life still come from that period in early 1992, Maltz, Eikman, Rodman, Sulak, Ness, Lerry…just to name a few. These dudes were like Greek gods to us lil cones back then! Fascinating to watch the evolution of AFSOC as it adjusts to the evolution of warfare. PS- I wanted to be a CCTer…my son is considering PJ…he enjoys studying medicine and the idea of being a rescuer. Good job and cheers!
Love the chat, EXTREMELY disappointed to hear that military leadership was thrown for a loop with “needing COUNTER [tool]” My Ft Bliss-stationed Patriot ADA officer father knew that in the 80s, every advancement makes a new game of catch up with counter systems
The most lethal guys in the battle space, and these guys treat you like an afterthought. You need your own "support teams" (AF infantry unit?) so you dont get left behind wounded in a bunker, and such. Yes, 4AF + 4Rangers seems a good mix. The +10K crew,
Hey, recently found your channel from the Valhalla collab. I was initially interested in Sf, but after watching your collab I’m really interested in Special Warfare. My concern however, is that I’m African American and I wouldn’t fit in to the predominately White community. What’s your thoughts on that? Do you know any African American AF SW person personally? Can you send me a contact number/ email for them?
