I've met Rene a few times and as a person,he is quite reserved and on his own.
I was once introduced to him,after a concert of the Urban Dance Squad ,at Tivoli,Utrecht to offer him a a semi electric acoustic guitar which was realy a piece of Art,in materials,finish,inlays and building qualities.This guitar was made by Andy Manson.
It was at the dressing room,i was introduced to him and i told him ,i had a guitar for sale and if he was interested.
I took the piece out of its case and he reacted the thing was much to delicate for his style of playing.Allthough he started playing this guitar and played Jimi Hendrix covers,for about an hour.
Around 14 people were in this dressing room and they were totally silent,while Rene was playing.He returned me the guitar,when he was finished and wished me luck to find a buyer for it.
A week later the guitar was sold to the brother of my best friend thantimes.
The funny thing with him,he lived thantimes just 50 meters away from the shop,who offered me this guitar to sell from them.It was Bergmann Muziek,at the Koningstraat,Arnhem,the same shop were John Lennon stole a Hohner mouthharp,used for the song "Love,love me do".
