Kratom is relatively safe when used in moderation. Overdose is very rare as the ld50 is generally higher than you could consume and you'll end up throwing it all up before you can reach a leathal dosage , and tolerance builds quickly. The real danger comes when taking it along with other drugs, most of the kratom related deaths are from mixing it with other drugs. Deaths from kratom alone is super rare.

My son's best friend died from an overdose of kratom 3 years ago. I thought it would have been a different substance but they did an autopsy and he ended up having high doses of kratom in his system. He was only 20, saddest fucking shit ever.
