At 62 I get confused enough throughout my day I don't need to be confusing my muscles too. I will just stick to the program you wrote for me when you coached me, thank you.

I get confused daily as to why I keep pushing harder and harder 😂. I’ve been focusing on +1s. I’m up to 3x8 with 105 pounds for dumbbell rows. My back is definitely growing! 💪💪💪🏋️‍♂️🏋️‍♂️🏋️‍♂️

Yea. I have a lot of respect and listen to the Mind Pump podcast. They are big into rotating exercises, but think you have the right take/approach on this one. Separately, that “road to 315 bench” video was just fantastic. Keeping appropriate progress / +1 rates in perspective is just so damn important. Going from say 12-11-9 to 15-14-12 on a lift is damn good work.

Through your varying exercise selection, you should see continual progress. If you don't, you've chosen poor alternate exercises or you lack the knowledge to program correctly. This also highlights the importance of maintaining historical logs. You can trick yourself in believing you're progressing. But, if you have years of logs to look back on, you can see if you're actually progressing or not, and to what degree.

I bounce around with my squat variations. Steve is right, I’d be a much better squatter if I just kept squats first…but here’s a thing, a research backs this up some…variation provides superior intrinsic motivation…I enjoy the variety and I keep coming back. Not sure I’d particularly enjoy grinding squats the rest of my life …I mix things up to stay in the game.

If training a muscle only 1 x week. Would it be better to stay with the same exercises each week then change them after a few months or have an A/B exercise rotation which would mean coming back to the exact movement pattern every 2 weeks and run that ?

I'd rather gain size and strenght, than "confusing" my muscles lol
