I agree. My AC technician said 1 hr..After 4hrs I called him. He said he is stuck in traffic and said he is coming..He showed up next day. So 1 hr = 1 day. This was in 2013 when I was living there.. I lived there between 2013 and 2017. Most of the technicians give you the same reason.. traffic. Maybe it is different now.

Im planning to move to goa in a few years, been watching u tubes researching etc., my question is getting my passport and visa all the legality to make my trip go smoothly, without going through a travel agent. Any advice, or do i splurge and go through a TA??? Also my plans are to stay 10 yrs. I heard you need to leave the country every 6 months to keep your visa current/valid whats up with that??
Goa looks cool, it's high on my list as well. I did my own planning and I like to do that sort of thing and pay less, so it suits me. When my family came, they were happy to have booked a tour and didn't mind paying more for it. You can check out iVisa (link in description) for help with your visa. My gf loves them because she doesn't like to deal with paperwork and it's not much money for the help. With a 10 year visa you do need to leave every 180 days but you won't find a better deal than that in any tourist visa in the world that I know of. Most you can only get a visa for less time and you have to get a whole new visa in less time. It's not so bad. I go to Sri Lanka for a few hundred dollars including hotel. You can check out my videos about renting a house and doing a visa run for more details. Also, Goa has some good FB groups for travelers and expats which you can join then get a sense for how much things cost. I'll do a video on visas once things open up again too and feel free to reach out!

In India, criminals and scammers avoid messing with people who have contacts in high places... especially in the police department. If you suspect you're being scammed, cook up some story about how you came to personally know a very senior police officer. That would send shivers down the spine of most petty criminals. It's not advisable for women to travel alone in sparsely populated areas..Indian women avoid it too. But again this cannot be generalised, but better safe than sorry.

A foreigner should come to India with a blank mind... ready to experience life as it is.... all kinds of things... good bad... should be ready to learn life lessons... cos India has it all... when u haven’t learned your lesson the life here will be a bit harsh... devastating... when you have learnt something then it will change into something good and appreciable... the lessons you learn more the life here will be way better and you don’t want to go back actually... you stay...
Good things happen everywhere, bad things can happen anywhere. When I traveled to London twice, i was warned by many of my friends and colleagues that u should be extra careful, especially after 08:00PM, as crime rate is very high. In Bangalore, i can roam around till 00:00 midnight without worrying. However there were robberies, rapes, attacks in Bangalore too. It is just that as I am from here i know certain safety measures almost intuitively, which I won't be knowing about london or for that matter any other place on earth. That's about it...Just know them, u will be fine. My only tip to anyone who comes to india would be...Keep in mind that things may or may not be very different but it is all about perceptions. Keep an open mind...U r not traveling to a different planet. Bottom line: It is all the same.....
I went to Gurgaon on business and was amazed at how developed and fancy many places were. I was very careful about food and still got sick but it passed very quickly. I honestly really enjoyed the food. However, as far as cleanliness it felt like there was a standard that people keep their own personal spaces very very clean, so offices and homes and malls were very clean but there was not a lot of respect for public spaces. I did a little touring around to other places in North India as well and although tourist attractions were well kept there was a lot of trash in the streets compared to almost any country I have visited.
The price is going up. That's what happens when Modi favours corporates. TRAI turned a blind eye while JIO exploited loopholes in our telecom regulations.
Okay so, I usually don't comment but today I want to. your doctor who is from Mumbai won't have that much of experience in US compared to any other dental professional here in India our Population is itself our strength as we get to see lots of patients here lots of patients means lots of experience. here is a justification to my above statement, I am Doctor here in India I have friends abroad aswell who come here for their treatment, as treatment here is cheap and reliable. Hope you are doing well keep up the good work 😊

If you have time, you may plan to visit the eastern parts of India as well. Every part of India is different from the other and the East (Bengal) is known as the center of art and culture. You will find many heritage buildings like Victoria Memorial, Fort William, Writers Building, Jorasanko Thakurbari, Belur Moth, and the list goes on. This is the place of many Nobel laureate of India (Rabindranath Tagore, Amartya Sen, Abhijit Banerjee). The people speak Bengali, which is known as the sweetest language of the world. The sweets of Bengal are also quite popular, but you will not find them elsewhere as Bengalis are usually lazy, and happy within their own boundaries :). People are usually simple and treat the guest as God. I hope you will like it!
@@bjenks Yeah Tagore's creations are awesome! And I am impressed that you have acquired so much knowledge about India and Indians! Thanks a lot and best wishes!!
it's not about education. I see educated people equally careless with the surroundings and littering everywhere. Although, it is not true about all of India, the hilly/mountain regions, northeast regions are very clean compared to densely populated cities. it's not about education, it's just about cleanliness habits.
it is not even with education. its same pattern like how humans grew. Urbanisation is new to the Indian community. a lot of things are not conscious actions. someone keep remind them you do that and this for cleanness. its nit injected in the minds for automatic. once the new generation comes then the problem can go down. bcz in many families, they manage their homes very well in villages and towns, some times they are not even educated ppl. but traditionally they know how to keep home well and why that is important. the same rule applies for outside. once they move out from home such rule not come to the minds just bcz of not tuned such away. for the next generation, it will be automatic. as you said we are already noticing the changes. many not 100% follow the rules but they have strong intension for change.
Hello dear, I belong to one of the cleanest cities of India: Ambikapur and I must say cleanliness is a joint effort. While people should have the habit of throwing their trash in the dustbin, the local government should also have a system to recycle the trash.
It all depends on the roots . By roots , I mean that South India has been invaded less than North India due which the roots are disturbed and people are less connected to their place . Sorry , I am unable to explain my views properly in English but I hope everyone will understand my point. 🙏🏻
I wrote this post on my blog, 50 Reasons India is a Good Place To Visit: chainomad.com/is-india-a-good-place-to-visit/ But I know there are many more reasons, what's a reason you think foreigners should visit India?
Bro you should come and visit assam to experience the wowness about India. North east India has a huge variety of world's best. 1) most rainfall in the world 2) biggest river island in the world, 3) smallest river island. 4) cleanest village of asia 5) cleanest lake water 6) most amazing views 7) waterfalls 8) root bridges And what not.
great video and well-traveled can make this type of video...last point is the best point which always came to my mind...you came India and choose paharganj to stay and make a vlog ''how much is dirty India? if you came from US to India than 1USD=70 INR.. WHY DID YOU STAY IN PAHARGANJ?
Banning westerners from staying in Paharganj will go a long way in fixing India's image. I lived in Delhi for 15 fucking years less than 2 miles from Paharganj and I've never been there - yet every fucking Western Vlogger seems to think that's the best place to stay and spend 75% of their videos focusing on assholes there. You'll notice it's only westerners that do this shit - you'll never find a Korean vlogger doing this bullshit.
British Broadcasting Corporation is mostly to blame for spreading the lies and the negative image. :) The crew will come to Mumbai, stay in Taj, enjoy their Butter chicken, roam around in Mercedes, and then film only the slums. Its a shame that these people took everything from our country, left it in rubbles, then have the audacity to lecture us.

But according to my friends when they say 2 mins it is always more than 30 mins in some cases we have to remind them after 30 mins that your 2 mins is still running
I have enjoyed several of Ben's videos. I just returned from a trip to Mumbai, it was exciting, and I hope to visit again. About Mumbai, well, I stayed at a really nice 5-star hotel, so the food, service, chauffeured car, everything was amazing. I was very comfortable. What's shocking 1) it is brutally hot and steamy in the city when you're outside of air conditioning 2) stray dogs, heartbreaking, you want to bring all of them home, if you could. 3) Trash on the streets, overflowing dumpsters even in nicer neighborhoods 4) the crazy traffic, the amount of time it takes to go just a couple of miles by car. What I liked: 1) People are very friendly with foreigners and helpful. Almost everyone in Mumbai speaks English 2) The food is super delicious, great vegetarian options, and very affordable even at upscale restaurants 3) The sea views are spectacular 4) Beautiful south Mumbai old gothic architecture
You nailed it on the 'PaharGunj' thing... I am from Bangalore and I know I should not stay near any railway station or Major Bus station in any city... I look for Air bnb or OYO which is very popular in India in a residential area 10 kms away from the center ... That gives you the best stay experience..

@@bjenks No doubt America is way better than India in many aspects but crime rate on whole is higher in America.....I've studied it intensively......
@@bjenks numerically we would be on the upper side but if you talk about crime rates.. India certainly fares lower than most Western countries..!
@@bjenks ok sir we try our level 👍best
India is no.1 at sexual harassment
A foreigner should come to India with a blank mind... ready to experience life as it is.... all kinds of things... good bad... should be ready to learn life lessons... cos India has it all... when u haven’t learned your lesson the life here will be a bit harsh... devastating... when you have learnt something then it will change into something good and appreciable... the lessons you learn more the life here will be way better and you don’t want to go back actually... you stay...
Good advice Priya
Good points Venkata
I went to Gurgaon on business and was amazed at how developed and fancy many places were. I was very careful about food and still got sick but it passed very quickly. I honestly really enjoyed the food. However, as far as cleanliness it felt like there was a standard that people keep their own personal spaces very very clean, so offices and homes and malls were very clean but there was not a lot of respect for public spaces. I did a little touring around to other places in North India as well and although tourist attractions were well kept there was a lot of trash in the streets compared to almost any country I have visited.
I want to go to Tamil Nadu and Kerala as I have heard that southern states are very different
That fancy India is not desirable... It's a mess.

Get Jio sim/portable WiFi you'll get best speed internet cheapest in the world.
👍👍
The price is going up. That's what happens when Modi favours corporates. TRAI turned a blind eye while JIO exploited loopholes in our telecom regulations.
@@kshitijshekhar1144 I used to pay Rs.250 for 1gb that too 2g data on Airtel before jio. Now 1gb cost Rs.10 for high-speed 4g data in jio
@@general123ist you'll see now bro. JIO promised free voice calls forever when they entered the market. It's already getting expensive for me.

Okay so, I usually don't comment but today I want to. your doctor who is from Mumbai won't have that much of experience in US compared to any other dental professional here in India our Population is itself our strength as we get to see lots of patients here
lots of patients means lots of experience.
here is a justification to my above statement,
I am Doctor here in India I have friends abroad aswell who come here for their treatment, as treatment here is cheap and reliable.
Hope you are doing well
keep up the good work 😊
Thanks for sharing, Asif and that's a good point about the population medical care 😊
i humble request to all the people and prime Minister, chief minister also... plz clean the city clean INDIA...!
This Prime minister is the FIRST PM who is Trying his BEST TO MAKE "CLEAN INDIA" a NATIONAL MOTTO, i have seen educated techies throwing THRASH ON ROADS !!! BE THE CHANGE
The ministers cannot clean everything we also need to contribute by not loitering.
People need to stop littering everywhere and it will change in a day.
Thanks Kriti, I would like to visit East India and have read about Tagore living and writing on a houseboat for a time, which sounds nice
@@bjenks Yeah Tagore's creations are awesome! And I am impressed that you have acquired so much knowledge about India and Indians! Thanks a lot and best wishes!!
Cleanliness is still an issue in this country. Billion people difficult to manage though😆
It will only improve with education in the following years
That's true
it's not about education.
I wrote this post on my blog, 50 Reasons India is a Good Place To Visit: chainomad.com/is-india-a-good-place-to-visit/

Awesome info, thanks
great video and well-traveled can make this type of video...last point is the best point which always came to my mind...you came India and choose paharganj to stay and make a vlog ''how much is dirty India? if you came from US to India than 1USD=70 INR..
Thanks, yeah I agree with you, hopefully with better info they would avoid it
You understood india from its length and breadth
😊
Keep an open mind like Mr Jenks. And when you have doubt about anything, Google it or simply ask someone.
:)
The fun fact is that there are so many languages in India that you can't even count!!😊
Very strongly considering the move.... Thank you so much for this, it's certainly helpful! 😁
I am from Meghalaya . Love this video so much ❤Do come to North East India .
Will do!
Hi Benjamin, In Tamilnadu people will not say Namasthey as greetings, We say Vanakkam to greet. Please for your information.
You made some great points, bro 😃😃
Love your content, from the capital city of New Delhi, India :D

Since it is a very populated country some times some places look messy but Indians are basically tidy and follow hygienic rules. I love my India.
😊
But according to my friends when they say 2 mins it is always more than 30 mins in some cases we have to remind them after 30 mins that your 2 mins is still running
Haha, they would be good internet repair man
This is the video that every traveller to India must watch.
I think you should also cover entertainment aspects when foreigners wants to stay for long period. Like Theaters, beaches, pubs, game, events.
I really like how u do the "Breaking news" thing in every video. That's a very unique way of attracting subscribers.😂
For Indians dental charges in India is costly, for USA it is cheap

Visit India since 2017....always go back....absolutely amazing to visit..people are so helpful ..just the language a bit a problem...

India have 1600 languages and 2500 sub language. 22 languages is only Government used language.
You nailed it on the 'PaharGunj' thing... I am from Bangalore and I know I should not stay near any railway station or Major Bus station in any city... I look for Air bnb or OYO which is very popular in India in a residential area 10 kms away from the center ... That gives you the best stay experience..
👍
