- Hi everyone, today I show you this vintage Tissot Seastar from the 80s. The watch is in good condition, 34 mm steel case without crown, the original plexy glass was scratched and was polished together with the case and case back.
The dial looked badly scratched initially but luckily a lot of it was just dirt.
The movement is a classic Tissot 2481 gilded in excellent condition. The watch needed a service because was completely dry of oil.

Now I can see where all my money went on my 50 year old Tissot service! (Bought in Lausanne January 1974.)
It's nice watch. Good job.
Thanks that was a lovely video 👍
I have watched the video carefully, several times, as I'm trying to service the same movement. Thanks you very much for posting the whole process. But both during disassembly and assembly I don't see the return spring of setting lever (part number 447) and its respective screw. When you lift the date indicator and ... they are no there. Do I see it wrong? Can it work this way?
I confirm that this component is not in my watch. However the date works perfectly, even the quick set date.
Thanks for showing us how you did this. The keyless works needs work in my 2481. I'm a novice and want to attempt to correct it. Do I need to let down the mainspring to work on the keyless works? That would add a lot of extra work on the back side.
I don´t understand your question, can you explain better? Thanks
Hi fantastic video. How can I reach you if I want to send in a 2481 for service like this?
Thanks, I'm not a professional watchmaker, I only repair my own watches, sorry.....
😭
@20::30....isn't the (ratchet?) wheel the wrong way up...think the indent goes down?
The ratchet wheel is mounted later, everything works perfectly.
