Hello, hope all is well. I want to buy this and build it for my girlfriend, I am not skilled enough yet to paint, just getting the basics down. So my question to you is, can I just build this without having to paint it? Are the parts colored already? Thankyou and also what type of glue are you using for the strings? What’s the difference between the little jar I believe the cement and the glue you used for the strings. I learned a few new things by watching this.
Hello Kenom. Thanks for showing by. All parts are coloured so it is not nessesary to paint them but they look a bit toyish unpainted. The kit is a easy kit system so you also need no glue. But the fit is not the best at some parts. I recommend to use glue. In the little jar is a glue specifically for the type of plastic scale-models are made from. The name of the brand is Tamiya extra thin. For the rigging I used ordinary super glue. I hope I could help you. Stay save
You know, if a piece isn't going in, like the starboard side panel, you could blast it with a blow dryer until it is fairly bendy, push it on, then either put it in the freezer for about 15-30 seconds, or just run cold water over it. That'll help with some of the fit issues, and it helps when a piece is being stubborn and doesn't want to go in.

Moin. Wenn du den in der kleinen Glasflasche meinst, das ist Tamiya extra thin. Der ist einer der besten Kleber für Plastikbausätze. Er klebt aber auch nur Plastik. Ich selber baue momentan auch die Black Pearl in 1/72 und verwende den Kleber da auch. Ich hoffe, ich könnte euch helfen.
I've taken a break from mine.. Yeah I had the same problems with the side panels fitting.. there was really no where to press in to get the fit right without breaking something..Plus there is really hardly a place for it to lock in on the sides.. I mean if you squeeze it too hard it will pop loose.. Anyway I got it pretty close and then you putty to fill in the few gaps... the putty from Vallejo that you can clean up with water...All the bulkheads had to have putty as well... I left the main deck guns off so I could putty the side gaps.. the top of the stern piece I had to use super glue to get it to stay in place.. Giving it a break for now and going back to TANKS!!! :)

"Part 11 is not missing, it was not needed so they removed it" Now I'm wondering what this "Part 11" was and why it was removed. 😛 The kit itself looks decent albeit a little small at only 26cm in length. The sails are a bit wierd as they are way too clean imo. Personally I would have preferred pieces of ragged cloth or at least that the plastic sails would be more ragged and less pristine but I guess for the price we can't be too choosy. Maybe customizing it with pieces of ragged cloth would be an option. 🙂
But I wonder if it wouldn't be easier and cheaper to just leave the part on? In April I'm driving to the headquarters of Revell Germany. Maybe someone there can tell me what part 11 is ;-). I wanted to build and show the Black Pearl in a way that even my youngest viewers could replicate it. That's why i didn't make any hard or costly improvements.
@@Dunhillscalemodelling Yeah, it's definitely wierd as you'd think those sprues would just come out of the machine with the part attached. So it looks like they had to manually remove "Part 11" manually. So yeah, it's definitely a mystery on what this part was supposed to be and why they didn't simply leave it on. Maybe "Part 11" was a stand that you could put under the model perhaps. So yeah, I'd love to know what this missing part was. So if Revell will be able to give you an answer; I'd love to hear about the part's function and the reason for its removal.🙂
Hi Dunhill, sehr schönes Diorama. Ich hätte noch zwei Tipps. bitte absolut nicht als Kritik verstehen. Eine Schicht hochglänzender Klarlack (gibt's in jedem Baumarkt in der Dose) würde dem Wasser noch mehr Tiefenwirkung geben. Wenn du mal ganz feine Gischt machen möchtest, kann ich dir die Abschminkpads der Frauen sehr ans Herz legen, die Watte dort ist sehr sehr fein wenn man sie zerpflückt. Gruß aus dem Norden Jörg

Maybe customizing it with pieces of ragged cloth would be an option. 🙂

1:23 the masts were paper in the regular revell version and i see here it's plastic which is interesting.
