I suggest you watch The First Medal of Honor Ever Recorded It will give you a better idea of what it takes to be awarded a Medal Of Honor. No joking here it's drone footage of the super human feats needed for The Medal.

Just a quick moment to clarify your doubt, yes. The shots looked red and green in WW2. The americans used red tracer bullets to identify their shots, while the germans used green tracers. It might've not been all shots star wars like, but every couple shots probably were tracer shots to keep track where they're going.
To answer spookytrooper's question in case it didn't get answered later, the quote he's referring to at 38:50 is "A serious problem in planning against American doctrine is that the Americans do not read their manuals, nor do they feel any obligation to follow their doctrine."
19:25 Those tracers aren't really exaggerated it really does look like Star wars even more so when there're multiple guns and tracer colors in the fire fight if you link the chain of bullets in a pattern you can have crazy tracer fire if you load up every round to be a tracer then it's insane looking cool and terrifying all at the same time
Glasses are fine, as long as your vision isn't too bad. You just need to be able to function well enough without them in case you lose them or they break during an emergency
Yeah not all VTubers are (100%) cringe. I am only somewhat cringe haha. I just prefer a vtuber over showing my face online lol Also thank you for the comment to feed the ALGO GODS!
I believe part of the reason for making sure the last son in a family survived, (this was common practice) was so that entire family's were not just wiped out. Leaving a possibility of that last son having children. Otherwise entire family generations could of been gone, especially if the family had no daughters.
It was due to post WW1 recruiting practices. To maintain numbers, recruiting brothers was common. Specially in the Navy. When WW2 started, There were 38 sets of brothers serving on the USS Arizona. A total of 79 brothers were on the USS Arizona, and 63 of them died in the attack. Only four of the dead brothers were identified. Not sure of the other ships in the harbor. Soon after at the battle of Guadalcanal on November 13, 1942, the USS Juneau went down, and all five Sullivan brothers went down with the ship. Along with other sets of brothers also stationed on that ship. The U.S. military revised its policy on allowing siblings to serve under the same command and paid more attention to the losses to the family name. In the movie Saving Private Ryan, the lady sending out the notices was aware of this due to the Sullivan's parents who crossed the country selling war bonds and telling their story. It's why she pulls the names out of the pile. Yes, it is so the family name carries on, and why the Sullivan's made such an impact. There's a movie about the 'Fighting Sullivan's' from 1944, telling their story.
In case nobody pointed it out, that clip of 2 "white guys" was actually 2 black guys. The clip was in black and white and because of that they "look like" they are white. It's literally just the camera that makes them look white.
26:07 technically "Panzer of The Lake" is accurate as all Panzer means is "Tank" in German (well technically german tanks specifically but yk potato potato)
It means "armor" not tank, the German term was panzerkampfwagen or armor struggle wagon. Tank derives from the British disinformation campaign to disguise the development of the first tanks
Yes the bullets look like that when there firing there called traser rounds they were used to tell differnse between enimy and friend they have nore tracers thy would achully have tho
I love reading about history I never heard of this guy until I heard another famous tank commander in W-2 William curtain Abrams a tank is named after his honor what's this called the m1 Abrams
The medal of Honor is not some "any man's medal". Not a soldier, but 2 grandfathers (navy) and 2 step-fathers (bomber SAC, Marine assault recon). You have to have heroism, courage, leadership, innvation, aggression, luck, and a triple layer of plot armor. One against the enemy, which does not guarantee your survival, and plot armor against your own command chain AND the politicians back home. The medal of honor also comes with a crap ton of perks IF your still breathing. A distinguished service cross is one step down, and two steps up from a bronze star. Your ignorance is understandable, yes agreed he deserved the MoH, but we rarely get what we deserve in life and he i have no doubt would tell you "its not worth making a fuss over, all he did was his duty."
Everyone talks about how he got denied the Medal of Honor and how it was a team effort. They have a whole bit about it. And then completely sidestep the fact that when Jailbird got sidelined due to being the Lone Survivor, the tank wasn't nearly as effective. And it would be their downfall. That's why he didn't receive the Medal. Because, if it wasn't for Jailbird and HIS skill, War Daddy couldn't do what he did. You give the Medal to ALL of them. Or none of them. War Daddy chose to stay an NCO and quit boxing for his guys. It's only fitting that they all get awarded together. That's the real argument here. Where's the Medal for Baby and Groundhog?
Time to watch the movie now!

Typically tracers were every fifth round from the factory, but anyone could chain their own ammo and change how often the tracers fire.
03:55 If you have Glasses that can correct it to 20/40 or better you be able to serve but it would be limited to certian MOS's
Just cheat on the eye exam, all of the greatest heroes do.

19:58 Rest in Peace Arthur Reed. He did not receive a nickname in order to survive.

But a Submarine commander gets the Medal of honor? Isn't that a team effort as well?
