Exactly, we already were for the past 5 years and Pservers are booming atm cause classic isn’t giving them what they want and they were never going classic anyway cause it’s to easy (prior to MoP).
The people who classically played WoW can just play classic servers instead of retail which means that the only people playing retail are people who further drive retail WoW away from feeling like the Warcraft universe. They brought Thrall back the way Disney brought back Luke Skywalker, meanwhile War Within has no orcs at all in it. It has no feeling of being tied to the original feeling Warcraft gives you.

SoD’s major flaw is that it makes older content (phases) irrelevant as the games go on. An alt doesn’t need to do dungeons to catch up. So getting groups to do dungeons like Deadmines or Scarlet Monastery can be difficult because there are faster ways to level. Classic at the core for a lot of people is experiencing the old content as it was intended.

Especially when making Cata, MoP, WoD or Legion (for example) they already have an existing audience + accepted cash shop + pre-orders etc. Same with Hardcore or Classic fresh, they can spin up specific types of servers so fast, and they will always retain a good amount of players for new Classic Vanilla servers. classic+ will disappoint because everyone has different wants and those wants differ from what the devs want/think also. not to mention it would have to be monetized more.
Blizzard's customers might be too up their own arses for classic+ to work out for Blizzard. Retail has the advantage of the next thing being new and undiscovered, new things have to be learned and examined before people can decide to hit the forums and bitch about them. Classic+ is messing with people's nostalgia, people know what they liked and hated, they know what they want. I don't think it's possible for Blizzard to get that right. People will be flooding the forums with hatred and loathing as soon as Classic+ is announced, forget how bad it will be when they actually start to announce any changes they are going make to vanilla.
People are willing to play what they like... that doesn't mean it's dangerously divided. It simply tells us what people should have known all along. It's less divided than it could have been due to all stupid decisions in SOD or how bad the lead dev was. To the point that Phase 1 had to have been made by someone else all together. If an actual team had been retained and given the resources needed SOD would have never had server mergers. Even with it's more active than... well you can go look at the numbers yourself I guess. Still it comes down to being an old game that they keep re-releasing. I mean there aren't exactly new AAA MMO's being released.
classic was cool for like a week. im one of those 20 year veterans who played vanilla , the game sucked and we sucked back then .... get over it for the love christ. i only play retail.... ive played almsot every expansion and im proud of that. you just got a new sub!
I started WoW on launch in 2004, remember it well, and I played for at least 75% of the content (to some capacity) over the past 20 years. I actually enjoy the classic fresh launches more than I do retail. I find that it's much more conducive to fun play with friends and I like that in classic you never know when you might get that super rare drop that can change your character. I don't get that feel in retail with everything revolving around vaults - not my style.
I've written at length, possibly on this channel, of why I don't think Vanilla is good, but let me dash the hopes of Classic+. I've levelled through TWOW, the often spoken about Classic+ server. The one often held up as an example. The new zones are mid, and they have to be to be balanced with the original ones. The issue is though that they are often lacking in terms of quest variety and proper flight paths. The reputation rewards for the four main races in each faction are poor, forcing the player to pick a faction to level rep with ahead of time in relation to their class (or in some instances like SW get nothing other than an Exalted level tabard). The dungeons are alright surprisingly, but the xp is kind of low and the loot ranges from useless to BiS for 10 levels. I'd give my takes on raids and BG's but I haven't entered them yet so I'll abstain from talking about them and would rather focus on the levelling experience anyway. The only major thing TWOW improves on is professions, especially for engineers. If Blizzard implemented a TWOW Classic+ experience, it would basically be CE but with a few more dungeons. People are just going to level primarily in the Vanilla zones. It's not going to be this grand adventure pitched by the community and will mostly be more of the same. Again, I'm not talking about endgame but the levelling experience. There would be so much that would needed to be fixed by Blizzard that they'd alienate one group or the other. Do you create a more endgame focused Classic + with higher xp/rep gains, better rewards and a focus on experiencing new content? Or do you go a more supplemental route where people are basically playing vanilla yet again but with a few minor changes like TWOW? Do we really need 90 gold for level 40 characters to move 60% faster in the 2020's? I support TBC and WOTLK servers for the reason you get Classic WOW how you want to play it. I find the levelling experience of 60-70 worth the time investment that 1-60 doesn't. I like the rep providing actual rewards. I like the gold rewards and relative exp gains. I like that the dungeons are not only located in easy to get to locations but provide a mix of challenge. I like that Tier 3 is on par with Tier 4 and provides an alternate gearing path (hell you can even do Naxx while levelling still). People talk about enjoying the same journey over and over again in Vanilla but once you reach 60 what do you have to show for it? Basic Riding, some profession points and a handful of dungeon items? I hope people get what they want but damn, Classic+ is way over-hyped over what we'd actually get in reality and I think people would get bored of it real fast as it will mostly just be more vanilla like we've had shoved in our face since 2019.
i just find it commical people still have faith in a blizzzard classic + they have 0 ability to make anything decent in 2024. tbh i unsub'd from era and am on a private server. will probably stay there until the tbc roll over ends
They shouldn’t have gone to Cata and and beyond. Should have ended it at Wrath, and just release another progression servers, Vanilla-TBC-WotLK. For people who want that garbage MoP and other retail bullshiet, they already have RETAIL for that. It is you, retail players, who are ruining the experience for us who prefer Classic. Because of you, we got SoD as it is. But you are Blizzard’s target audience, and they can not just allow for the subs to drop. “Give the players what they want..” yes, give your Vanilla audience what they want, Retail has everything already. Release Fresh Classic and everyone will be happy.
They have so many versions of the game, that they can't handle them at all. So many bugs out there, that has been there for a long time. We are reporting them, but nothing has been done at all. This will make you lose players aswell. If they can't handle all these versions of the game all at once, they should just not do it.
Enough classic plus cope for me. The actual dev team is unable to fully provide it. I'm aware Sod players are enjoying themselves and all, wish you the best but thats not leading to even test anything towards "Classic+" I'd be happy if we had a cycling progression server vanila->tbc->lk with decent phase pacing and the will to keep factions balanced. Era/Hc are good and will still be good 2 years in the future because they fill the niche of just raw classic. With its ups and downs in pop they are stable. What goes after Mop is unknown and i dont care that much really.
Continuing with the classic versions is giving money away to Blizzard, and from Cataclysm onwards the game fell apart a lot until reaching Legion, it seems absurd to me, everyone has their opinion, but the Classic versions should have ended with Lich King, continuing with the classic, fresh and other versions will only make entertaining and really fresh game modes like SoD currently garbage.

I don't see a point in hardcore fresh
classic was cool for like a week. im one of those 20 year veterans who played vanilla , the game sucked and we sucked back then .... get over it for the love christ. i only play retail.... ive played almsot every expansion and im proud of that. you just got a new sub!
Congrats? Youre old enough so im sure you have your own bag of chips ahoy so I wont offer you any.
I won't be playing past MoP Classic.
They should hold off on MoP classic at least for a while
They shouldn’t have gone to Cata and and beyond.
Civil War Classic Edition
They have so many versions of the game, that they can't handle them at all. So many bugs out there, that has been there for a long time. We are reporting them, but nothing has been done at all. This will make you lose players aswell. If they can't handle all these versions of the game all at once, they should just not do it.
i feel like youtube unsubbed me from you. Just made me subscribe again, anybody else have this issue?
i just want no bots
Enough classic plus cope for me. The actual dev team is unable to fully provide it. I'm aware Sod players are enjoying themselves and all, wish you the best but thats not leading to even test anything towards "Classic+"
I'd be happy if we had a cycling progression server vanila->tbc->lk with decent phase pacing and the will to keep factions balanced.
Era/Hc are good and will still be good 2 years in the future because they fill the niche of just raw classic. With its ups and downs in pop they are stable.
What goes after Mop is unknown and i dont care that much really.
Why even play "classic" past wrath?
Continuing with the classic versions is giving money away to Blizzard, and from Cataclysm onwards the game fell apart a lot until reaching Legion, it seems absurd to me, everyone has their opinion, but the Classic versions should have ended with Lich King, continuing with the classic, fresh and other versions will only make entertaining and really fresh game modes like SoD currently garbage.
People are invested into their classic characters, if they just wiped it people would be pissed.
@@claytongiampaolo7848 Yes, but this is not about what some people want, the classic should have stayed as classic. The problem is the addiction of some people to paying for things already played.
1:41 anyone who wants the chronoboon removed is being thrown off mount hyjal.
What playerbase? xD
Hey man, its true all the classic players are lesser to vanilla players. Just sayin'.
🤣🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏👏💯💯💯💯💯💫💫💫💫💫💥💥💥💥💥
I want tbc. Or a sod tbc would be good!
sod > cata > hardcore > era
Low level rage bait
@@ivanthespacebiker5390 not even a bait just a fact
@@KanekriYou listed it in the wrongest order possible

I agree with nuking every other version but classic +
