So...I'm wondering. Do Máiread Nesbitt and Cora Smyth (original LOTD fiddlers) have an 'agreement' with the producers, and/or Michael Flatley? Do they maybe not care? Because it's clear that their original fiddle recording is being used here. From the 1990's. Maybe this is just for recording/DVD purposes. Like, many artists and shows produce a dubbed version. Especially for TV and stuff. But why not, then, dub a version of THESE fiddle players? Why use the OG's...I don't get it... It wouldn't be so weird if these girls were properly amplified and at least could be heard; we'd be able to distinguish who's playing what. I have no doubt they're really playing. I've played with random recordings at shows (for better effect as a solo performer), but I amplified my fiddle adequately. I don't see why they don't use the recording as a background, and really amplify your actual performers??
Definitely not true. Just search up Mairead Nesbitt Granuaile's Dance, then take a look at what it's possible to do while dancing with the violin. And yes, that performance was live too.
I always loved strings of fire. I liked this version a lot, but I like the original a bit better. In any case, all of the ladies are amazingly talented!
Yeah, i loved to see Máiréad Nesbitt and Cora Smyth play! at some moments i ask myself if these two ladies are really playing or that they playback and are on stage for they're looks.
Not Caliope house...sorry but Caliope is a Scottish jig written by Dave Richardson. The original live version of 'Strings of Fire' does include that tune... ua-cam.com/video/HZfR4CG-3_M/v-deo.html
This is the “album” or soundtrack version (which these girls are playing along to, crazily). The first and last tunes are “Castle Reel” aka Dick Gossip’s, and The Congress Reel. The middle tune is also featured in Lord of the Dance in the “Siamsa” segment. This leads me to believe Ronan Hardiman composed the tune on piano, for the show. Who knows the name...

They're two brilliant and skilled musicians who really brought the strings of fire. Amazing!
What we're hearing isn't what we're seeing. That is disappointing.
James Hales it’s playback. Sad, right?
yeah why?! I hope Mairead Nesbitt and Cora Smyth are getting royalties.
what are the two girls names anyone know?
One word awesome
КРАСОТА))
As a strings player, absolutely no way these girls are playing. Even worse, they're doing a shit job of even miming
Absolutely no way any fiddlist would play these live. The acoustics and the performance would be too difficult to manage properly.
The originals were awesome. They did it live these girls are obviously there just to dance and look pretty.
