I definitely appreciate the aesthetic being a little more complex, bittersweet, and nostalgic. Thinking back on my own childhood I have a lot of memories of being bored, frustrated, lonely, scared, etc. It's part of the experience of being a child that doesn't usually get acknowledged, but seeing it in miniature like this is somehow very touching.
So well put Julia, you expressed it way better than I did! I'm never mad a more complex set of emotions beyond cute (as much as I love cute things).
those inset glass eyes create so much depth and I Love the red blush that makes it appear like they have just been crying. definitely sad, but it feels so human and empathetic. these have a gorgeous design and your commentary is always so sweet!

This is my favourite blind box toy line so far. Their designs are sooooo cool. Bought the whole case on release. No luck on the secret rare though.
Aww that sucks no hidden edition but that's wonderful you have the full case. I can see why it's your favourite!
I prefer paper packaging that can quickly be turned into compost, this is definitely that kind of packaging. I do not care much for "recyclable" and "biodegradable" plastic packaging.

I really love this series a lot, picked up a full case when it released. I really like how well pop mart executed the illustrative style. I really wish it was easier to access information about the artist and the meanings behind the figures. The style reminds me a lot of Maurice Sendak (where the wild things are). I love the ghost figure and also love that the little ghost ties in the style of Yuki, which is by the same artist, but you’d really never tell looking at the figures. You got some good ones, I also like all of them except for the Marionette.
I totally agree Carly, I would eat up the information behind the series. There is a lot of series I wish I knew the story behind from Popmart. And ooh the Where the Wild Things vibe is totally there, that's one if my favourite childhood books. Yuki is so different, I'm all here for future characters from Lang.

Hirano with ghost buddy is so cute! I love his greenish-blue hair colour so muchh it really stands out.😍 and and his cute little feet too!

the details on these are really nice. i also really like the packaging (aside from the box being difficult to open). it's unique enough to draw me in if i saw them in person
I really liked the change of packaging as well! It's nice for Popmart to mix things up.
Even though this is not something I would normally like, there is something about this figurine that is appealing. 🤔
It's interesting, I stayed away from the whole set as it doesn't match my office vibe but had to get a few.
I really like these - my favourite is also the ghost one. They have a real melancholy feel to them and are quite whimsical. Also it's great that the packaging - which fits the style of the figures so well - is all just cardboard and paper so can be easily recyclable.

The packaging is really cute and goes well with the theme which I really love. Love the expression of these little guys and the different texture of the eye parts ❤ I wish they did more QC on the paint job but other than than I think they are very well made!
The eyes are everything! I wonder if there is more vinyl figures with eyes like this cos it's so special.
