My favorite part We’re *ONE* of a kind no category! *TWO* many years lost in his-story (history) Were *THREE* (free) to take our crown and glory *FOUR*(for) *FIVE* more minutes We’re *SIX* Amazing word play
Two many years lost in his-story! Very important to get the break in there. :) I go around singing the under my breath. I have heard repeatedly that the Queendom is similar to how Hamil-nerds feel about their musical. It is a moment to have their feels.
"London, do you want one more song?" "Alright! Everybody on your feet!" "Get your phones out, you're gonna wanna film this!" "And most importantly, get ready to dance." "Make some noise for Maggie!" *shredding Greensleeves* "Big ups, Bessie!" *slapping Greensleeves* "Show some love for Joan!" *organ harmony* "Y Señorita Maria!" 2 bars of Tresillo toms
My god, the moment I saw the camera in Kath’s ending I immediately teared up, thinking about how that would hit for you. That’s so beautiful. The pink, the singing, the parallels, it’s all there. It’s so bittersweet. And then your speech about it 😭🩷 I’m so happy I get to be part of the people that has been able to bring you this ending, as you put it. Thank you for allowing us on this journey with you, looking forward to many more in the future 🫶 (Edited for a spelling mistake, since I wrote this comment while bawling my eyes out haha. I’m feeling very emotional right now)
Just to give you a little bit more nice things to realize 14:06 This is in a pink background, Kathreine H hung theses up on her walls proving that she is not alone anymore :') So glad you introduced me to this musical. Thank you so much. Cheers to you and your happy ending Mortius.
If you need more musical recommendations check out "Ride the Cyclone". It is similar to Six with characters singing to win a contest but much more chaotic. There is a full recording of the "slime tutorial” online. The dialogue between the songs is important for context. Not that the context helps for clarity.
NOTE: have your editors find a way to get the lyrics and script. Some songs have verses overlapping and the stage mics can only pick up so much. Plus the introductory song has a few versions go with what’s on the official album
YES!! If he sees this I would also highly recommend checking out the videos of the live performances rather than animatics, especially for ballad of Jane Doe and Noel’s lament
The ending of this musical always makes me ugly cry hahaha like, just the acknowledgment of all the women in history who just don’t have their stories fold and didn’t have agency and this FANTASY of what they might have done and celebrating that in the face of all the historical violence is so beautiful. I really love the Broadway official cast recording, it’s a live recording of i think one of their first performances back after Covid and the energy is OFF THE CHARTS I think the live recording (especially high quality official ones haha) are best for this musical. So glad you enjoyed this one dear!
In the theater during this number they encourage everyone to stand up and vibe along with them. Its a cool way to end the journey (similar to how Spamalot concludes)
I don't know whether this has been mentioned, but a very cute detail in the picture at 14:14 is K Howard and Anna of Cleves cuddling, because the original actresses to play those roles dated for a while.
5:10 If you’re wondering what is happening at this point, the lights go out as if the show is over (and I’m pretty sure the queens all walk off stage).
What about Henry? Well, there is a legend that his corpse exploded in his coffin during the funeral procession and his blood was licked up by dogs, lol. And what we know for sure from reports: during works being done on the chapel in ~18th cent, his and Jane's final resting place was accidentally uncovered. It was said that while Jane's lead coffin was fine and pristine despite being older, Henry's was broken, with debris all over it, and they could see parts of his skeleton through the broken coffin, namely his skull. A bit of afterlife karma?
@@sunnysunsins Why? She genuinely loved him and the only reason they had a sad ending was because she died. Let her have the man she loves. She's the only one that isn't cursing his name.
@@WolfanTerror But she loved him, and in her ideal ending she lived and had more kids with him. "Since my first son, our family's grown". She wasn't removing Henry, she was continuing their story together and giving them the happy ending together she wanted. You do her an insult to try to imply she would imagine herself with anyone else.
Now that Six is over... I can now push you towards Starkid!!! Please please please watch The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals, Black Friday, and Nerdy Prudes Must Die (in that order, it's a loosely-connected trilogy. bonus points if you watch Nightmare Time, a series of short musicals that expand the lore and characters from the universe)! The full shows are on youtube and they have subtitles there is no excuse! Hell, having the Starkid shows on the slate for the colab channel would be a GREAT idea (please I have a list of characters that'll traumatize you and Casper, Polities has NOTHING on the Hatchetfield Trilogy).
Actually I really want this to be a colab channel thing. If Casper and Mortius did a cover of Let it Out or Nerdy Prudes Must Die or anything with Wiggly in it, I would ascend. My soul would leave my body.
Wow, I was already sobbing my way through _Six_ when you hit us with that observation about how KH's happy ending links to yours. No stopping for quite a while after that. Virtual hugs and appreciation.
Immediately clicked when Kate was sharing her ideal ending that that is exactly what you're getting do and am genuinely surprised you didn't get more emotional haha 💖 I'm glad you got your happy ending. Seconding the comments suggesting Beetlejuice and Hadestown for next stops.
Just FYI, there’s an extra chunk of dialogue that’s supposed to go in the middle of ‘I Don’t Need Your Love’, which is the catalyst for the song changing from just being Catherine Parr’s song to all of them casting off being just ‘Henry’s six wives’. It starts at 6:11 in this vid m.ua-cam.com/video/hiyH_TXqd9g/v-deo.html&pp=iAQB and falls between the lines “We all disappear” And “So we had no choice” Basically in this chunk, they finish the realisation that their stories are THEIRS, not just extensions of Henry’s, and ALSO point out that on the flip side, Henry himself is really only famous BECAUSE OF HIS WIVES (and all the historical shit he caused in his pursuit of women and/or an heir). On that note, I also advise watching this quick OSP vid on Henry, where Blue gives us a bit more info from the same angle: m.ua-cam.com/video/gQhVfaJH-Ds/v-deo.html
(Goes back in time to make this the real ending) King Henry? Yeah, not a lot known about him other than he was a big baby that threw tantrums and tried to marry these six women. Those girls? Now those are historical role models! Catherine of Aragon told Henry “not happening. No way!” when he proposed to her because she heard the rumors. Instead, she joined a nunnery, joined the gospel choir and sang music so powerful, they're sung in choirs around the world to this day. Anne Bolyne? She was supposed to marry Henry after receiving poems and letters from him, but told him no. Of course, he threw a tantrum and she told him “don’t lose your head”. She took all his poems, changed them up a bit, and brought Shakespeare himself to his knees, begging her to work with him. That’s how amazing her work was. Jane Seymour? She did like Henry, but she just had a bad feeling about him. As painful as it was, she declined his proposal. Her heart of stone led her to a wonderful man who respected her and treated her well. After their first son, she got sick. He worked from morning to night so he could afford a doctor, medicines, and a live in nurse to take care of her and the baby. Miraculously, she survived! Their son grew up strong and healthy and they had more children over the years. They even created a family band! The Royaling Stones was the biggest name of the century. Anna of Cleeves? She was the only one who did marry Henry, but they only lasted less than 6 months. Yeah, it hurt when Henry told her she was ugly just because “love at first sight” didn’t work out for them (what does that tell you anyway). But instead of moping about it, she used the money she was given to return home, worked with Hans Holbein and went on tour to create art that made women feel beautiful and music with a beat that made everyone get down. She may not be queen of England, but she is queen of the castle. Kathryn Howard? She was a child when her story started! Her music teacher was awful, so she kicked him out and decided to take her music teachings into her own hands. Turns out she was a prodigy! She learned every instrument and self taught herself to sing beautifully by listening to Catherine’s gospels, Anne’s and Shakespeare’s sonnets, the Royaling Stones, and even traveled to listen to Anna! Henry was in love with her voice and proposed. Of course she said no and left him to his tantrums. All she wanted to do was sing, which she did until she died. No, seriously, according to history, she was giving a concert when she was (estimated) 77 years old and gave her final note right there on stage just as she ended her song. If you gotta go, might as well do what you love. The five got together to talk about Henry and how they were glad they didn’t end up with him. They even decided to write songs together and it was a smash hit! They were known as Five. Then along came Catherine Parr. She was inspired by these incredible women and worked hard to maybe join them someday. Of course, Five heard her out and agreed she should join the band until, you guessed it, Henry showed up. He warned her not to join them and promised to make her a famous queen if she agreed to marry him. Parr told him “I don’t need your love” and turned Five into Six. Now she had her own Henry story. These women are an inspiration to this day!
Wait, but Kathryn was beheaded at a young age, didn't she (divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, *beheaded*, survived)? If that's what happened how is she able to give a concert at 77 when she already died way before that?
What really happened Catherin of aragon:This bitch is empty**Playing with Henry's head** Anne boleyn:I mean...he wanted a head...He tecnically didn't especify. Jane:Fair enougth. Anne:Very much fair enougth. K.howard:I mean...anne you did't have to take it that far... Catherin parr:No honey no,she did you a favor for taking it that far. **Quick context, basically Catherine divorced Anne, Anne She found out that Henry was going to decapitate her and that not only this but that she was bothering K. Howard So she beheaded him first in his own room and it took hours...and then she went and did the same thing with every church and power figure that opposed her...and also to a random musician**
I adore this show and the ending is what we all want for them. But listening to you talk about the healing in the Katherine part and working on moving past your own trauma and just singing,… I’m sobbing! I know All You Wanna Do was extra tough for you and I am so glad this ending was what you needed! And I have seen this live and out of all the many many musicals I have seen, you will never feel like jumping up and dancing in a final number more than this. The energy is just electrifying! We all love you and your videos!!❤
Something also worth mentioning that is important musically between Ex-Wives and Six is that while a lot of the lyrics you’ve noticed are versions of eachother but at the end the ex wives part is changed so they have their own identities past being wives. What is even cooler is that in Ex-Wives the green sleeves synth remix motif is throughout the whole song, which is representative of Henry being ingrained in their story (since Henry was thought to have written green sleeves), but in Six, the motif is gone! It’s replaced with a new through line that is unique to them and their song!
Can I just say, I love the coincidence in that Kate Howard's part specifically brings in a flutey instrument, when her song was the one Mr. "Play my heartstrings like a flute" here most identified with~ Also, just adding Hey Mortius, first time commenter, just felt I'd say hi and that I've loved keeping up with this series as it came out. Found ya recently thought epic, and hope to be around helping bring you your happy ending for a long while to come.
I usually try to leave lighthearted comments, or analyzing the musicals, but I just needed to say, thank you for being so open with your emotions with us. I know it's difficult, but it is so refreshing to see someone be so genuine and brave when sharing how deeply the music/lyrics hit. I had a very similar reaction to All You Wanna Do, and watching Katherine get her happy ending made me feel like I could have one as well. While I wouldn't wish experiences like ours on anyone, it's comforting to know that others that have been in the same position that I'm in are thriving now, and are healing. It reminds me that I am, as well, and that my experiences were in no way the end of my story. I'm so glad we're getting our happily ever afters. ❤
Beautifully put, as odd as it may sound stuff like this makes me glad to have amnesia especially as mortius put it(about it being so easy to blame ourselves) I know that I would do exactly that without the amnesia
I work Front of House at a theater venue, and I actually worked a couple shows for Six when it was on tour! Fun fact about the song Six: During live performances they actually count down how long until the song is over during the chorus. It starts with "For five more minutes" then changes to "For three more minutes" and so on until the end. FOH staff loved it because it helped us keep track of how long until we had to open the house doors. Also the actress for Anne Boleyn (can't remember who it was) went so hard during Don't Loose Your Head that she accidentally tore her fishnets during one of the performances. Super fun show to see live (although probably shouldn't if you have epilepsy)!
That sounds like such a fun job! Although I think (know from personal experience) with epilepsy as long as it's very mild it'll be fine. I went to see six last month and I have epilepsy (although I am expected to grow out of it) and I can see how if it was stronger then I might affect someone more because of the lights being so bright. (I just closed my eyes for a second when the lights were flashing to quickly and it really helped)
@@Kathryn-vr9nk That's good to hear! I was a bit concerned about the lights during Haus of Holbein especially since they felt pretty bright and flashy when I was watching. Makes me happy that they aren't too much though!
@@bonedustt yeah, I can see how that might be a concern and probably be an issue for some people, considering my epilepsy is quite mild you can get used to the flashes after a couple seconds and since they become less flashy once they start singing it's not as bad. (The start of Haus of Holbein and Ex wives were really the only bits for me that I had to close my eyes/squint for a second due to the lights) (I would advise however that if the lights from a concert, film or disco/any other thing with lights could or will set of a seizure then SIX definitely isn't the right show for you to watch) (And I am just speaking from my own experience and it will vary for everyone)
Fuuuuuuck (can I write this here?) watching your face fall during K.H.s part of SIX literally made me cry. The raw emotion. I just wanna hug you so bad. Know that there is a lot of support coming from over here 💖 On a slightly lighter note. Camera, pink room, etc. You kinda are K.H. confirmed ^^ (She's always been my fave)
You made me cry. But let's be clear--you grabbed this ending for yourself. We're just lucky enough to be part of it. I would looooove to see you do Hadestown.
Honestly, this song is such a rollercoaster of mixed emotion, because you feel so happy and yet, there is this deep bittersweetness, because you know that it _isn't_ what happened, but God, we want it to be.
I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying! OK fine, we're both crying! Seriously, so glad I found your channel and these vids, Mortius. Thank you so much for the wonderful content!
This is a beautiful song and it always makes me happy, but the final "We switched up the flow and we changed the prefix," section always makes me sad because it reminds us that no matter what their imagining, they are just that 😭
It's funny, I'd kept thinking about "Oh wow I love how coordinated he is with all the pink stuff" but I didn't put it together until you said it that, coincidentally, the queen you relate to most palpably is also represented in pink. Always thought about them separate, but not together.
i have seen this show 3 times live and it is amazing, everyone gets up and dances at the end and during one show during Get Down some guy in the front row stood up and started dancing and then she sang “get down” and played into it
I would love to see any of the Starkid Shows (especially Twisted (if you are a Disney- or Aladdin-fan), The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals) and of course I would love a continuation of The Lightning Thief Musical!
I always tear up a little listening to Six (the song), but you saying that we gave you your K. Howard Happy Ending (tm) is just... hey man, I"m bawling. I'm so happy for you, and I hope you get to keep doing this for as long as it brings you joy.
That intro hit me in the feels even before the songs. Then your reaction to the songs had me tearing up too. I don't know how to express how brave and vulnerable you have to be to express those emotions and how you relate on camera, but just know it means a lot. It means a lot to see someone else affected and to know people like me aren't alone and we can turn out kind and genuine like you seem to be. Your reactions are always great but this has been one that hit me on a personal level and I appreciate you for it, on top of the wonderful analysis you always give. I started following you with epic but I think I'll be sticking around for a while to come hopefully. Thank you again for what you do and I hope you have a great day.
Mortius, watching the way you got all emotional during Katherine's verse in Six made me tear up ngl. I remembered that you had a hard time reacting to All You Wanna Do, so seeing this made it easy to see how much you needed it. Also, side note, another good musical with great music and storytelling would be Heathers, I think you'd like it. Plus, due to its popularity and it's relevance even today, it could attract a lot of views, too. Just a suggestion for you to think about. Keep the content coming 👍
If anyone is like me and got obsessed with the queens, I recommend the book 'boylen inheritence'. It's anne of cleves and kathryn howard after the death of jane symore, and how anne boylens death shapes their futures. It's a weirdly fun read, written in first person between them and my jaw is on the floor
The one part of K.H that impacted you so much is also a lil nodge (i think) to the fact that one of the K.H actress specifically Samatha Pauly has a YT channel and record herself singing just like in the animatic :'3
@@witchqueen1296 maybe, I mean I've seen it written but I think it's just because she's referred to as K. Howard so much it kinda just sounds like Kate (especially when Parr says it before Katherine's pre song monologue)
Mega six in uk can be recorded so was a great marketing tool and great way to see all the iterations of rhe queens, swing queens and super Swing queens like Grace and Vicky
@officialmortius I was aware of Six but had never heard it before, so I was discovering it along with you. I also cried along with you, but that's a story I don't want to go into. Thank you for being open and sharing, it meant a lot to me that I wasn't crying alone. ❤ So, the reason I'm leaving this comment now a month or so after, is to let you know that I ended up checking out the dates for the upcoming UK tour, thinking there wouldn't be any I'd be able to go to. It turns out that next March it's going to be playing a theatre very close to me in the north of scotland (usually things never get further north than Edinburgh or Glasgow). I'm so happy, I now have a ticket to see the official Six the Musical and it's all thanks to you introducing me to it Mortius. Thank you so much!!! 💕
Watching you react to Six was genuinely amazing and one of the best parts of my past 8 weeks. I'm so excited to continue on with your other series reactions like Hamilton and see what else you've got in store!!! We fans love you so much, Mortius
I don’t comment often, just wanted to say that I found you right before The Underworld saga and binged all the epic content and the paired content you've done with Casper. I adored this reaction series, I love your insight and how emphatic you are, I already liked Six but your reactions have always given me new appreciation for the media you cover. I second alot of people's opinions on Hadestown, although I strongly recommend you listen to the original cast recording before the broadway version. Also yes to muscials done by Starkid productions, I've seen people say The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals (along with the accompanying projects, although you can totally watch it as a stand alone) But if you like Disney at all they have a show called Twisted, it's sorta like Wicked but for Jafar, really heartfelt stuff Thank you for all the great content, look foward you whatever you put out next!
I was looking forward to you seeing this- the musical and lyrical call backs, the happy endings, the triumphal chorus... I knew you'd love all aspects of it. Glad you enjoyed it so much!
Seeing this musical live truly is an unforgettable experience, I will say that much. But now that it’s over I HIGHLY recommend watching beetlejuice as well :)
I love seeing reactions, not only because I get to learn new things about the music and/or story, but also because the songs always gain new meanings for me with every point of view I get to know. This was by far my favorite meaning that I got through a reaction. I love your content xD
NOOOO😭😭😭ITS OVERR Six is probably my all time favorite musical and it got me into Tudor England! This has been so fun to watch💛💚🤍❤️🩷💙 I can’t get Patreon, but i thought I might suggest some more fun Six content for you to view over there! -Get Down/Live on Broadway -Get Down/ animatic by Krystaliaaa(very chaotic I love it) -definitely check out some of definicious’s stuff, she did the whole musical in animatics I think -The fight scene/Buttercups art and animation -K Howard roasts/ made by: bye-bye -All You Wanna Do/ AYGEE art There’s a bajillion more but here are some that I like!
I don't usually comment on your videos because English is not my firts language but you moved me so much that I had to leave you this little comment. (sorry for any errors 😅) I love your videos, your energy, your way of explaining the composition and how you are, I love all that. You are someone who brightens my day, each of your videos brings me lots of emotion and I click on each notification from your channel that I receive. thank you for all that, thank you for being the person you are and making us smile. thank you for doing what you do and I hope you know that all your work is worth it, that we see every single one of your efforts. and thank you for helping me improve my English, I know that was probably not one of your goals in creating this channel 😂 but know that you also help with this kind of thing !
I also cried through the whole finale song Mortius. I have listened to this musical so many times but never watched animatics and like seeing them get to live these dreams and everything got me
Our interaction with your videos may may allow you to keep making them, but you made your own "happy ending". You are a warrior, brave and strong, never forget that.
I found you through your reaction to All You Wanna Do and I have to admit that I didn't stop to comment after because I went straight to the rest of your Six reactions. But I wanted to take the time now to say thank you for being so willing to be open and vulnerable the way you have been. That song always hits hardest (followed by Heart of Stone) for me. Seeing the happiness and the smile on your face when you talked about finding your happy ending was a lovely moment and I'm happy to have contributed even a small amount to your happy ending. And I see you've reacted to Lydia the Bard based on the videos on the sidebar - so I'll continue to do so! (I'm also so glad to see it because partway through your Six reactions, I was thinking I hoped you'd react to her and her villain songs!) Thank you for reacting to the songs of one of my favorite musicals!
i was so lucky to get to see six live, it was such a rollercoaster at the end, during megasix, they encourage everyone to get up and (mini)dance and sing along and it was SO much fun your videos always give me so much more to think about in the music, and it ALWAYS makes me appreciate it that much more tysm
I have loved watching you react to Epic, Six, Hamilton, etc. Now that you're in need of another musical to watch I very much recommend Starkid musicals!! They are a team of people who put on amazing musicals and put them all on UA-cam for free, and I'm pretty sure have subtitles as well! Their Hatchetfield series is amazing (The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals, Black Friday, Nightmare Times 1 & 2, and Nerdy Prudes Must Die). Though I love all their musicals and would recommend any of them! I just love getting people interested in them and seeing people support what they do for those who don't have access to live theater. It could even be something you do with Casper on the Open Arms channel, which I've also loved watching you two collab!
Dude your my favorite reaction youtuber right now cause you actually record your whole reaction and that just brings me so much joy and i also cried during the musical because the feelings get to me so thank you so much for uploading these reactions
I’m so glad I found your channel! Six has always been one of my favorites and your commentary and community is so sweet it feels like a warm hug :) I’ll be sure to stay around for more stuff because it’s been so worth it!
As someone who has been fortunate enough to see this live twice, once on Broadway with the original cast and then when it toured to my city, as great as the album is, seeing it live is truly a game changer!
I've seen this live twice and i want to see it again!!! My kids love it. Its short for a musical, no intermission, but its SO fun and high energy. The costumes are incredible. Just love it!! Love watching your reactions to this awesome musical
Another animatic that you might wanna watch is I’m Still Standing (Elizabeth I animatic (six the kids)) by Arty E features Anne Boleyn’s daughter Elizabeth and Annapantsu’s cover of I’m Still Standing by Elton John.
I came for EPIC, I stay for you. You have an auditory thing where you can't hear lyrics, I have an auditory thing where I can't hear instruments. It is such a treat when you point out instruments and harmonies, because I can sometimes hear them too once you show me what to listen for. It brings so much depth to music instead of only hearing the melody and the rest being a wave of noise that make the melody sound "full". It's a real trip for me to glimpse what other people hear. Thank you!
Thank you so much Mortius! Your reaction to K Howard is so perfect. The fact you didn't edit out your response and let this show helps so much you have no idea. I hadn't found you until Six, and now I'm going back and rewatching your other videos and esp re-watching the All You Wanna Do all. the. time. Thank you!
Something I adore about the song is not only that they aspired to get to know each other without Henry appearing in the picture, but that they made Anne of Cleves go to the Haus of Holbein, since Holbein not only painted her portrait but that there are rumors that when Henry complained that he painted her "Prettier than she really was" he only responded that he didn't know what he was saying because for him Anne was beautiful
Not sure why you popped into my algorithm today, but I watched all of your videos on Six today and I felt like I was hanging out with a friend. Thanks for this and I look forward to watching more (can't wait for you to deep dive into Hadestown!!!!!!!!!!)
Fun set of musicals is The Hatchetfield Trilogy:The Man Who Didn't Like Musicals,Black Friday and Nerdy Prudes Must Die by Starkids right here on UA-cam
I love how you can tell that the megasix audio was from the early-days since in the recent shows, during the Boleyn-Seymour part, it goes: You can- LOL! You can- Say “oh well!” You can try but I’m unbreakable! There are clear breaks between them instead of Boleyn and Seymour just singing over each other, like they do in the Animatic
omg I love the photo referencing Aimee and Gen I really wonder if Toby wrote all the songs with Megasix already in mind, because they managed to fit all the songs into F without making it sound like anything was substantially key-shifted
ITS BEEN YEARS SINCE I HEARD THIS SONG, WHY DID IT STILL HAVE THE POWER TO GET ME TEARY EYED, AAHHH, I LOVE THIS MUSICAL SO MUCH Edit: Im surprirsed I still memorized megasix, man, hahahhaaha, thank you for the revisit, Mortius
13:07 then i start crying. Mortius, I love you as a youtuber, i love yours videos, and im so so happy that you are doing great rn. Dont know what trauma you went frought, but from all my heart i want to you "happily ever after". Thank you for everything you did to me and do right now. Thank you. ❤ (and sorry for my english that not my native language but im trying and ALSO your videos helping me a lot thank you again youre the best xd)
I will admit I was a little hesitant to get into another musical so soon after Epic but I'm so glad I did, this was a wonderful experience and I'm glad I got to do it with you moritus and I look forward to seeing the next musical we take on.
K Howard is also a character i resonate with. Your reaction made me cry man aaaaaaaaa I respect u sm for doing what u love and im happy you're having a good life Ok thats enough parasocial out of me lol
It's interesting that "Six" begins with "Greensleeves", which King Henry VIII supposedly wrote for Anne Boleyn (which didn't happen in reality). He was a songwriter, and a few of his pieces still exist today, such as "Pastime with good company".
You might need to check out AnnaPansu, Morti. She did versions of Don’t loose your Head, Heart of Stone and All you wanna do. Thank you for taking us on this journey. I’m looking forward to what’s coming in the future.
Thank you all for granting me my happy ending 💕Can't wait to see you for the next adventure.
MORTIUS, WHY YOU GOTTA BE SO SWEET MAN?😭 (Continue, it’s EPIC (pun intended))
We love ya, Mortius!
Awhhh Mortius😭💗💗 We love you so much!!

Thank you for allowing us on this journey with you, looking forward to many more in the future 🫶
(Edited for a spelling mistake, since I wrote this comment while bawling my eyes out haha. I’m feeling very emotional right now)
Just to give you a little bit more nice things to realize

This is in a pink background, Kathreine H hung theses up on her walls proving that she is not alone anymore :')
So glad you introduced me to this musical.
Ride the cyclone is such a good musical, I second this ☝️
RIDE THE CYCLONE IS SOOO GOOOOD
NOTE: have your editors find a way to get the lyrics and script. Some songs have verses overlapping and the stage mics can only pick up so much. Plus the introductory song has a few versions go with what’s on the official album
Yessssssss one of my favs
ITS A MORTIUS GROUP HUG EVERYONE!!
*group hug*
Mega-group hug for Mortius!!
Group huggg
In the theater during this number they encourage everyone to stand up and vibe along with them. Its a cool way to end the journey (similar to how Spamalot concludes)
“Get your phones out, you’re gonna wanna film this…”
Six was my very first Broadway show. Spamalot was my second. I loved the interactive finales for both. ❤
I think that bit with K. Howard cemented Gigi as Mortius’s favorite musical animator
I don't know whether this has been mentioned, but a very cute detail in the picture at 14:14 is K Howard and Anna of Cleves cuddling, because the original actresses to play those roles dated for a while.
As someone with a massive audio processing disorder, I've rarely found someone this relatable
Mood, two hearing aids and I still struggle with some things(primarily "background noise" which shockingly encompasses a lot....)
5:10 If you’re wondering what is happening at this point, the lights go out as if the show is over (and I’m pretty sure the queens all walk off stage).
Glad you found your happy ending
What about Henry? Well, there is a legend that his corpse exploded in his coffin during the funeral procession and his blood was licked up by dogs, lol.
And what we know for sure from reports: during works being done on the chapel in ~18th cent, his and Jane's final resting place was accidentally uncovered. It was said that while Jane's lead coffin was fine and pristine despite being older, Henry's was broken, with debris all over it, and they could see parts of his skeleton through the broken coffin, namely his skull. A bit of afterlife karma?
No, Henry just married Jane Seymour first and they had a bunch more kids and started a band. Didn't you hear her part of the song?
@@TailsFan I choose to think in her rewrite Jane married and had a family with someone much better
@@sunnysunsins Why? She genuinely loved him and the only reason they had a sad ending was because she died. Let her have the man she loves. She's the only one that isn't cursing his name.
@@TailsFan yes, but it doesn't change the fact that Henry was a god awful shit person and she deserved someone better.
OH MY GOSH YESS LOVE STARKID (I can imagine his reaction to the LIBs already lol)
I SECOND THIS
Or an reaction to Twisted, that could be really fun
YES
It starts at 6:11 in this vid
m.ua-cam.com/video/hiyH_TXqd9g/v-deo.html&pp=iAQB
and falls between the lines
“We all disappear”
And
“So we had no choice”
Basically in this chunk, they finish the realisation that their stories are THEIRS, not just extensions of Henry’s, and ALSO point out that on the flip side, Henry himself is really only famous BECAUSE OF HIS WIVES (and all the historical shit he caused in his pursuit of women and/or an heir).
On that note, I also advise watching this quick OSP vid on Henry, where Blue gives us a bit more info from the same angle:
m.ua-cam.com/video/gQhVfaJH-Ds/v-deo.html
@snapeyaoilover Can’t be beheaded by the king if you never marry him.😉
@@snapeyaoilover Honey, it's a reinterpretation of history
What really happened
Catherin of aragon:This bitch is empty**Playing with Henry's head**
Anne boleyn:I mean...he wanted a head...He tecnically didn't especify.
"Play my heartstrings like a flute" here most identified with~
Also, just adding Hey Mortius, first time commenter, just felt I'd say hi and that I've loved keeping up with this series as it came out.
(The start of Haus of Holbein and Ex wives were really the only bits for me that I had to close my eyes/squint for a second due to the lights)
(I would advise however that if the lights from a concert, film or disco/any other thing with lights could or will set of a seizure then SIX definitely isn't the right show for you to watch)
(And I am just speaking from my own experience and it will vary for everyone)
(also you spelt "don't lose your head" slightly wrong since lose only has 1 o (common error. I see them get mixed up all the time)
@@Kathryn-vr9nkit doesn’t matter that much, as it is actually don’t lose UR head ^^
Fuuuuuuck (can I write this here?) watching your face fall during K.H.s part of SIX literally made me cry. The raw emotion. I just wanna hug you so bad. Know that there is a lot of support coming from over here 💖
On a slightly lighter note.
This is a beautiful song and it always makes me happy, but the final "We switched up the flow and we changed the prefix," section always makes me sad because it reminds us that no matter what their imagining, they are just that 😭
20:40 it is in fact incredible, i was so lucky to get to see six last year 😊 (gold confetti EVERYWHERE!!)
It's funny, I'd kept thinking about "Oh wow I love how coordinated he is with all the pink stuff" but I didn't put it together until you said it that, coincidentally, the queen you relate to most palpably is also represented in pink.
Always thought about them separate, but not together.
Katherine's reprise was so simple.
i cant believe it moved me to tears.
i have seen this show 3 times live and it is amazing, everyone gets up and dances at the end and during one show during Get Down some guy in the front row stood up and started dancing and then she sang “get down” and played into it
I would love to see any of the Starkid Shows (especially Twisted (if you are a Disney- or Aladdin-fan), The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals) and of course I would love a continuation of The Lightning Thief Musical!
IT'S THE END OF SIX! I love six sm and the last song(six😭) is such a banger!
not yet they have one more song to publish called “long live the queens”
@@CAMERA_GUY799% sure they don’t as the producers (Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss) are working on a film now:)
Not me crying at the same time Mortius has his breakdown too! Noooo i don't want to cry!
The only thing that makes angst hurt worse is starting with fluff
Ugh that’s too true 😭
I think the animation for Kate Howard was a reference. Pretty sure one of the Kate Howard singers had a very similar setup for one of her videos
Did you mean Katherine Howard? Her first name isn't Kate.
@@Kathryn-vr9nkI think it's just a nickname some of the fandom gave to K. Howard.
@@witchqueen1296 maybe, I mean I've seen it written but I think it's just because she's referred to as K. Howard so much it kinda just sounds like Kate (especially when Parr says it before Katherine's pre song monologue)
@@Kathryn-vr9nk Kate is often a short form of katherine
Are you referring to Samatha Pauly's channel? Now that I think about it, the setup is very similar.
Mega six in uk can be recorded so was a great marketing tool and great way to see all the iterations of rhe queens, swing queens and super Swing queens like Grace and Vicky
Mortius, I want to give you the biggest hug right now
@officialmortius I was aware of Six but had never heard it before, so I was discovering it along with you. I also cried along with you, but that's a story I don't want to go into. Thank you for being open and sharing, it meant a lot to me that I wasn't crying alone. ❤
So, the reason I'm leaving this comment now a month or so after, is to let you know that I ended up checking out the dates for the upcoming UK tour, thinking there wouldn't be any I'd be able to go to.
Also yes to muscials done by Starkid productions, I've seen people say The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals (along with the accompanying projects, although you can totally watch it as a stand alone)
But if you like Disney at all they have a show called Twisted, it's sorta like Wicked but for Jafar, really heartfelt stuff
Thank you for all the great content, look foward you whatever you put out next!
If only Howard got the happy ending she needed 🥺
I love seeing reactions, not only because I get to learn new things about the music and/or story, but also because the songs always gain new meanings for me with every point of view I get to know. This was by far my favorite meaning that I got through a reaction. I love your content xD
NOOOO😭😭😭ITS OVERR
Six is probably my all time favorite musical and it got me into Tudor England! This has been so fun to watch💛💚🤍❤️🩷💙
I can’t get Patreon, but i thought I might suggest some more fun Six content for you to view over there!
-Get Down/Live on Broadway
-Get Down/ animatic by Krystaliaaa(very chaotic I love it)
-definitely check out some of definicious’s stuff, she did the whole musical in animatics I think
-The fight scene/Buttercups art and animation

I also cried through the whole finale song Mortius. I have listened to this musical so many times but never watched animatics and like seeing them get to live these dreams and everything got me
AWWWW mortius we love you - this was such a great ending to such a great series!! cant wait to see more from you :3
Our interaction with your videos may may allow you to keep making them, but you made your own "happy ending". You are a warrior, brave and strong, never forget that.
I have been following this episodes since the start, love your reactions Mortius!! 💕💕 SIX is one of my favourite musicals if not my fav!! 💜
(I'm also so glad to see it because partway through your Six reactions, I was thinking I hoped you'd react to her and her villain songs!) Thank you for reacting to the songs of one of my favorite musicals!
i was so lucky to get to see six live, it was such a rollercoaster
at the end, during megasix, they encourage everyone to get up and (mini)dance and sing along and it was SO much fun
your videos always give me so much more to think about in the music, and it ALWAYS makes me appreciate it that much more tysm
Dude your my favorite reaction youtuber right now cause you actually record your whole reaction and that just brings me so much joy and i also cried during the musical because the feelings get to me so thank you so much for uploading these reactions

oh my godddd!!! i cant believe we're already done with six! im glad you got to achieve ur happy ending! goodluck on whatever musical is coming next
The intro of Six (the song) *might* be inspired by the song Ugly Heart by G.R.L. - look it up, the opening instrumentals are similar!
As someone who has been fortunate enough to see this live twice, once on Broadway with the original cast and then when it toured to my city, as great as the album is, seeing it live is truly a game changer!
12:00 I'm not crying, you're crying!!
I've seen this live twice and i want to see it again!!! My kids love it. Its short for a musical, no intermission, but its SO fun and high energy. The costumes are incredible. Just love it!! Love watching your reactions to this awesome musical
Well... Was not expecting to cry today... But anyway love the video 💜
Thank you!
Watching you react to this was a privilege. I’m glad Six seems to have been a healing experience for you. Looking forward to whatever comes next!
MEGASIX IS JUST ABJKCEVHVHEWVHBEBH I CANTT
Not sure why you popped into my algorithm today, but I watched all of your videos on Six today and I felt like I was hanging out with a friend. Thanks for this and I look forward to watching more (can't wait for you to deep dive into Hadestown!!!!!!!!!!)
Fun set of musicals is The Hatchetfield Trilogy:The Man Who Didn't Like Musicals,Black Friday and Nerdy Prudes Must Die by Starkids right here on UA-cam
This song is so wholesome awee. Perfect break from all the sht that happened loll
I love how you can tell that the megasix audio was from the early-days since in the recent shows, during the Boleyn-Seymour part, it goes:
You can- LOL!
You can- Say “oh well!”
You can try but I’m unbreakable!
There are clear breaks between them instead of Boleyn and Seymour just singing over each other, like they do in the Animatic
omg I love the photo referencing Aimee and Gen
I really wonder if Toby wrote all the songs with Megasix already in mind, because they managed to fit all the songs into F without making it sound like anything was substantially key-shifted

Ok thats enough parasocial out of me lol
Bro I just started watching you through this series you aren’t allowed to make me cry when I don’t know you! Holy shit my feelings
MORTIUS YOU’RE NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE ME CRY ON A MONDAY😭😭
Also Six tends to tour a lot so I hope you have the opportunity to see it live someday
