Congratulations! What an amazing interview with an amazingly humble man. I met him at D23 in 2015. He sang Yakko's World for me for my bithday and wouldn't take a penny for it . He wanted to know my story and made me feel so damn special. Before he left for the day, he asked people where I was and came to find me for a hug. He's the real deal!
Rob Paulson is a King! I grew up with his voice while growing up in the 2000s-2010s. Brick and Boomer, PJ, Carl Wheezer, Peck, Donatello, Mark Chang. Just to name a few!
Rob is amazing. His voice is a huge part of my childhood. Animaniacs is one of the best cartoons of the 90s. Just like you Dave, I'm a 90s kid and was impacted by these cartoon shows. This was a great interview. Hope you get to interview more talented voice actors. They don't get enough appreciation. I hope you get to interview Jim Cummings at some point.
What a guy, Rob Paulsen is. I honestly think he is on the same level as the Late master Mel Blanc. He's a icon of the animation voices. As a kid of the late 80's and early 90's is my era. The world is a very dark place without these legends of film and animation :) Now I'm 33 and have Autism myself and what Rob is saying is simply spot on. If people could just take the time to listen and learn and that knowledge is power. TURTLE POWER!! or HELLLLOOO NURSE ^_^ brilliant podcast Dave keep up the such amazing work :)
I didn't know Rob was from Grand Blanc. I'm from Flint which is connected to Grand Blanc. Very cool knowing that he from where I am from when he has been apart of so much of my childhood.
Rob Paulsen had did over 170 episodes of TNMT 1987 rob had life togth season 9 & 10 he came back for the TNMT franchise in 2012 he in fold with 3 incarnation of TNMT
Hello! First of all, it's so cool you got to meet and talk to Rob Paulsen! He's something special. However, I have a special request, as an autistic adult as well as a fan: Please, please do not direct people towards Autism Speaks to learn about autism. AS has a long and public history of catastrophizing Autistic Spectrum Disorders in their advertising and educational materials. AS vilifies our disorder, treating it like a tragic incurable disease that steals the voices and abilities of children who would ideally be normal. AS is run by non-autistic people who look at our disorder in terms of what it costs those around us, and supposedly us- though again, they don't actually ask us. AS neither seeks nor promotes the perspectives of real autistic people on our own quality of life. Their high profile, their prevalence drowns us out. While it is true that some forms of autism prompt harmful or painful behaviors that the autistic person themself may want ameliorated, that doesn't mean that autism itself is tragic or disastrous or in need of a universal cure. AS makes autistic people look like victims of our own brains, while ignoring that much of what harms us is an ableist society where people think we're damaged and demand that we suppress our natural behaviors in order to resemble the neurotypical people that, in their minds, we should have been.
As much as I like him as likeable characters like Carl Wheezer, Pinky, and Yakko... I enjoy him best when he plays hammy villains like Hydro-man from Spider-Man The Animated Series and Evil Jimmy.
Wait,Spielberg demanded the three voices MUST be in the reboot (good) but NOT the actual CREATOR of the series?! Really? Why? So Spielberg can continue to ride the coattails of the misconception HE made the series (he’s executive producer not creator) so wtf?!!
Will they bring back the original cast for tiny toons Rugrats Darkwing Duck reboot the voices of plucky Duck hamton pig Stu pickles & Grandpa Lou had passed away?
Rob Paulson is one of my inspirations and I really wanna meet him someday. He was my whole childhood without me knowing
