How To Make A Rainbow Cake With A Sprinkle Surprise! | Georgia's Cakes

- Rainbow cakes are one of the biggest cake trends, so I thought to make this easy tutorial showing you how I decorate mine!
This one, of course, is extra special as there is a secret sprinkle surprise on the inside. Make sure you watch until the end of the video to see what the cake looks like when it's cut open!

Baked in 2 x 6-inch tins
375g melted butter
375g caster sugar
300 (6) eggs
325g self-raising flour
50g good quality cocoa powder

i put a whole cake to the bottom and whole cake for the top with springles in the middle with hole inbetween is that okay, i could not remberif the bottom was ringed out or not with ring cutter.

How many batch of swiss meringue buttercream is required to cover and decorate this cake?
I made 300g egg white 600g sugar, 600g butter recipe to make sure I can divide the colours with plenty of spare buttercream!

I think as long as its in the fridge the buttercream will keep its shape :)

Put icing on the cake board so the sprinkles don't fall off
You wouldn't need that sugar water on the cake layers if they were moist already and not so dry. I think the water makes them soggy, not moist. This is a beautiful cake!
I think it's more because when you are making cakes for a client, it can sometimes take a few days to make and decorate/construct the cake, plus the cake may not be eaten by the client for another couple of days, so it just ensures that the cake is nice and moist several days down the line, compared to a cake you would make yourself and eat pretty quickly - hope this helps!

where do you get the bottle for soaking?
LOVE ...the subtle rainbow icing...very pretty and feminine, and the outside decor as well. Not so crazy about sprinkles in the centre - only because nobody really wants to eat sprinkles ( although it's great for WOW factor). Personally, I would have used the Easter/Pastel M&Ms because they are the exact same colours as the icing and yummy to eat. Your videos, instruction and cakes are ALL great, Georgia. 👍

Cool cake, but why bother cutting a hole in the top and bottom layers at all if they will just be plugged again?
I cut the plugs in half to maximise the space inside

@@GeorgiasCakes gosh, people are so self entitled. I'm sorry some people don't understand you are your own person that doesn't just exist to please them and answer their dumb questions.
Your cakes look gorgeous, but there are a few things that are bothering me. First off, your sponge looks really firm and hard and you have to moisture it. Why not just make a moist tasty sponge in the first place? Second thing was the sprinkles, I get that it looks fun, but nobody actually wants to eat sprinkles, so why not fill the hole with something delicious? Also, why does people in cake videos only fill the cake with buttercream? Where I'm from, people actually want there cakes to taste like something like strawberry, mango etc.

I do think, that if you bake cakes in youtube, other bakers can ask questions and maybe learn something new or just simply have a conversation about our passion. Atleast thats how adults do it. I do like her visual style, I would just like to know the reasoning behind the cake itself, since the main thing in my opinion is the taste.
NIM S would be interested to know what your version of this style of cake would be . Buttercream filling I think is most popular in the states as it is more stable , adding fruit makes cakes more perishable , simple syrup is used to help maintain the moisture of a cake , a very effective addition especially when working on a cake that will take days to decorate , sprinkles well they are more stable inside as well ,and are best for creating the spill effect when sliced, all these things need to be considered for cakes made a few days in advance. More than likely she is also working with frozen cake which is pretty common.
This cake was requested by someone so I was only fulfilling what they wanted! These are also tutorials focusing on "how to decorate". The sprinkled are purely there for a surprise feature and other fillings can be used too!
