I've been to Matera and absolutely fell in love with it! 😍 Such a mesmerizing city with its ancient streets and unique charm. The morning sunlight, daytime atmosphere, and nighttime allure all create an unforgettable experience. Matera truly captured my heart! ❤🇮🇹
What a great video! I’d never heard of Matera and now it’s on my list. I enjoyed your Vietnam videos too. I’m headed there next summer. Keep it up and thanks for the videos.
@@JordanandEmily no photos I have of it do it Justice. We did a Globus tour of southern Italy starting in Naples to Sorrento to Bari to Positano (only one day-rained like hell) to Alberobello to Matera to Lecce to Naples. Probably the most amazing tour we’ve ever done. We did Sicily this November and while it was a Globus tour and was good, it just wasn’t like Southern Italy. Sicily is almost “too Italian”, if that makes sense. We hope to retire somewhere in Italy in about 5 years. Absolutely can’t wait!
Wow. That opening drone shot with the sunrise/sunset was gold. Old architecture always boggles our minds too. “What more could you ask for? … maybe a door” haha. Pretty epic for inside a cave. Lol getting lost in that type of city reminds us of a Santorini. We wheeled our suitcases up and down so many unnecessary staircases and cobblestone streets 😂
Starting in Siracusa, ascending from Noto, through the Incas chocolate path of Modica and ending in Ragusa Ibla 🤯. Sicily could be the end game if you enjoyed Matera and Puglia. Some cities you can explore in that path are almost lost in their ancient beauty and totally unknown: Ispica Scicli,Rosolini, Caltagirone, Floridia, Palazzolo, Marzamemi
i can not see my picture when i detroy that before? we need check family really/ brother really/ sister really, parents really? that important? if they push you from baby? we need check really? couple snake?
For the beer, in Italy there is no law that prohibits the consumption of alcohol in the open or in public, so no problem.
oh yay!! Thanks for letting us know - I (Emily) was so nervous the whole time 🤣
@@JordanandEmily ma lo stesso vale per il vino. Ognuno può bere quello che vuole e non c'è nessuna restrizione.

That is so good to hear! Matera is definitely worth having on the list if your heading to that side of Italy 😊
The cave house is really nice
Super nice!! Such a unique experience ☺️
We LOVED Matera when we visited in November of 2021. Far enough off the beaten path that I hope it never gets ruined.
Isn’t it amazing?! So unique and different! 😍

That's a really good comparison actually! very similar to a Santorini without a seaside! Bags on those cobblestone roads are a killer 😆

Thanks for the recommendations! We need to head back to Italy soon and check them out!
Where in Australia are you from? Are you staying in hotels or hostels?
We are from Adelaide ☺️
A mix of hotels, hostels and AirBnBs! Basically whatever has the best deal/is the cheapest 🤣

Good tidings old friend. Hypnotising water bound girraffes has its dangers. As does any watermelon. I advise caution in your leg hairs future.
