BMW electrics so brown is live and blue is neutral. Every German car is wired like my house in Koln. The total opposite to what you expect…! I sympathize with you as it’s hours of fun 😢
@ Testing? What’s that? O have begun to watch LR Time on YT for my Discovery/ Range Rover fix. Christian and Vera are like you - not scare to spanner LR products. It’s a real education as deep down L322s are ‘just another car’. Look out for Vera’s description of JLR electrics!
Hi Conor, I love watching you getting the Range Rover fixed and updated! I see this video is nearly a year old, did you get the Pioneer unit working in the end? It’s a lot different from fitting new head units in the 80s and 90s!
Cheers! Yes, after five videos I do actually get it all working and a year later it's been 100% reliable. It was a pain but worth it in the end - the thing is with cars later than this one is the stereos are so deeply integrated into the cars they can't be upgraded anymore so you're stuck with whatever tech was current at that time.
Yep, electrics! 1) don’t makes sense. 2) seem to have fluid rules eg brown is live unless it’s not. 3) take you to the brink of success then snatch it away as if some higher power is messing with you.
At least the smoke stayed in the wires!
It's all good - I doused it in water before the flames got too high

Yes, but in the Range the brown actually wasn't live, it was the white. I should really have tested the wires first but what's the fun in that, right?

Ha! A small mistake can also be quite expensive!
Plug-un-play...
Me-hole, anything that says plug-un-play never works for me 😡🤬
Haha. It would help if I actually knew which plug was which!?
