I remember installing version 1.2.x on an HP Deskpro P3 733mhz pizza box w/512mb of ram and adding a 3COM 3c905 10/100 as the 2nd NIC back in 2009 for my home network
Wondering when you can get that test up and running. I think a few people want to know the speed of this vs 5100 and also the power consumption if you can.
The motherboard has one Ethernet but the unit I showed in the video shipped with an additional 4 port Ethernet card. Not every listing will be configured that way, just the seller I found did it like that.
What kind of throughput can be expected with this setup? I have 1Gbit Internet and also want good OpenVPN throughput. Or should I go with a T730 instead of a T620?
Thx for posting this video. I am doing the same install for an HP T730 and it says that there is no bootable disk when doing the reboot after the install. Any idea why it would say that or how to resolve it? the install seemed to go fine. I can get into the rescue shell too. Not sure what I should be seeing when I am in that shell. Thx
nice build. IMO it's a bit irritating that you are using a normalt t620 on the thumbnail; this one out of the box only has one NIC. I personally don't want to use an USB-NIC or something similar on a productive router.
I would never hire you or your company for my networking needs due to your lack of attention to important details. Like saying "from a left over HP T620 thin client" and then showing the eBay listing of a HP T620 PLUS. HP T620 PLUS has a PCIe slot whereas the T620 does not. Knowing the equipment you work with is pretty important. You made a whole video not even realizing the important details of the T620 family..

I did :D mine was P4
What is the power consumption of this router
do you have any benchmarks for it? with no rules, with 50-100 rules, with openVPN?

Thank you, nice to watch and easy to follow
The PC you're using. Did you add a second NIC or using USB to Ethernet? or other? Thanks
@Kobalt Ingram This is probably t620 plus which can take a small form lan card.
which 4 nic card to buy? wish you had links
In thumbnail is showing HP T620 whereas in Video HP T620Plus was used
Those Thin Clients only have 1 Ethernet Port? Do they have support for PCI Ethernet Cards?

I got past the disk boot issue. Cannot use GUID in the install for some reason. I used MSDOS option. Moving forward now.
It could be UEFI, try installing it with legacy mode enabled.
So can I set up along side this a VPN and Pi-hole ??
Thank you!

U can use Managed Switch with VLAN. I am using it
Kindly attach the ebay link
