- This video will show you how to replace the EGR Valve on any 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan or Chrysler Town and Country Van. If you have the trouble code P0406 this should solve your problem!
I got a check engine light on 2010 Grand Caravan, hooked it up to my scanner. Gave me a PO405 CODE faulty EGR valve. Got a new one from O'Reilly. $109.00 The hardest part was taking out the bottom EGR bolt. No room to maneuver. Must use an angle socket driver. The rest was easy. Thank you very much Happy new Year. May God richly bless you.
Thank you for this no gimmick or drama. Straight to the point! Very helpful.
You're very welcome. Glad it was helpful
I want to thank you for the information you have given us; and I just want to tell everyone to be able to remove the screw it is located on the bottom of her valve, you will need 10 dice, elbow, medium extancion and wrench; push wrench down to loosen the screw and be patience good luck everyone.
Thank you for showing a logical display of workmanship unlike some of these other JOKERS.
Good video. Gave us absolutely everything we need to know . . to do the job.
Found great use from this! Thank you 🙏 ✊
Well done brother. Very informative and very goof instruction. Thanks a lot. God bless you my brother!
Just completed over the weekend... 2008 GC, but same motor. I disconnected and removed the battery, after one arc and the determination for more room. I disconnected the spark plug wires as well, for more space. I had to use a 10mm box to get that lower bolt free (almost stripped it... which would've been catastrophic). New EGR had a slightly different orientation for the plug so I had to trim a valve cover bolt/standoff. Otherwise, it was as easy as you depicted. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the additional insight. Its always good to know what helps. I always try to make things easy-to-do! I appreciate it.
@@thefixitdad9228 , why doesn't the video show how you removed the lower 10mm bolt, can't get a socket on it?
@@victoriaann8495I just changed it for a friend. I used a ratcheting box wrench to get the bolt off. You have to feel for it, can not see it from on top.
Thanks, I'm going to attempt this tomorrow 🤞🏾 you made it look very simple.
Thanks! I just replaced it.
Great video ... also when buying that part it's covered under a limited lifetime warranty at some parts stores
PERFECT! Very informative sir thanks for this video!
Awesome!!! Exactly what I needed to see brother.💪A+
Great job and very useful information.. thank you
Excellent video. Perfect explanation.
Thank you for taking your time to explain.
You're welcome
Thanks for the informative video. Very helpful. Yes, the bottom bolt is very difficult to get to, But I was able to squeeze a regular 10mm socket on a 3/8" socket wrench in there. I also wonder if the electrical connection wasn't at a slightly different angle, as re-attaching the connector took some work. I had to unplug the 3 rear plug wires and the connector to the 'distributor' in order to work that connector into place.
You just nailed my problem. Good video.
Thanks, this video is awesome
Thank you that was very helpful
Great informative video
Great job 👌
Thank you
Great vid!
Wait how did you get to the bottom, first bolt with the exhaust manifold in the way? Extension? What tool did you use? Thank you
Thanks for video..
My 2014 town n country reads a misfire cylinder 2..
Started of with spark plugs..will move to EGR..since its really Misfiring..
Check the coil first.
Replaced mine, simple enough. Tube is clear and new valve in place. But now it has code P0507 and P0404 and the dash power light come on and it idles like garbage and won't accelerate past about 25 mph! Did I just get a trash new valve from RockAuto or does the computer not recognize the new valve setting?
Thank you for this video
Super helpful, thank you!
How how do u get the last two bolts out the one that under the egr valve and the other one thats on the right side of the pipe cause I'm trying to place mine let me know
Should add the link for the one you ordered in the description
That bottom bolt thats a 10mm how did u get it off. There's no room to get it off. I tried.
Agree. He skipped the most important part.
I used a ratcheting box wrench to get it off. Just have to feel the bolt because you can’t see it. You might also try a shallow socket using a universal joint socket or adapter with an extension bar.
Thank to the 👦 that has little Marco Rubio ✋ ✋
how's the EGR valve almost a year now? I have P0405 on my T&C Limited 4.0, not sure if the same part #
Still good with no issues
@@thefixitdad9228 Thank you I just received my parts today and will install them soon. We haven't driven the van for a couple of months now coz so scary that suddenly it stops whenever it wants.
I replaced an hours ago. I was so exited to test but still the same, it died after just 10 meters and then 100 meters. I’m thinking if I got a bad part or something else I’m planning to remove and return.
Did it fix it
HI, WHERE IS IT LOCATED IN THE 2013 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN?
Got right to the point perfect
Hi, do you have the link to the part you ordered? I googled dorman and the review was pretty bad on amazon... Which one did you get?
No gasket between EGR valve and head? Or tube and top of engine?
Ty sir!!!!
You're welcome. Gald to help
Can this keep the van from starting?thanks!
So I've been having intermittent start issues for years. Have always been able to get it started, but can take 2,3,4 times to do so. I only had 1 key fob, got a new one and went a year without issues. Happened again and found out i had major oil leak and radiator had hole in it. Replaced, went months no issues and again started having start issues. This time i got a check engine light. Mines po401 but still the EGR valve. I was told that this can cause starting issues.
How to test fuel pump on 2010 Chrysler town and country (without adapter) at the end of the video see how I replace the EGR
Thank you....
You're very welcome
Too bad you skipped showing how you actually get the bolts off the bottom. Thumbs down for that reason.
Thumbs down for your shitty comment.
Common sense man, you just take it to a mechanic shop
😅@@Wykednick
I cant get the red clip off
They can be tricky and stubborn sometimes.. If you can get a small flathead in there that may work to help release it.
Great video!
Thank you.
