I was very egotistical at the time and had just spent the night on a first date with this amazing young woman who was really, really into wishing to have a relationship with me. Long story short, I had brought her back to my apartment and we had sex. In the morning I was just wanting to get her out and was really just being cold. While she was getting dressed, I had mtv music playing on the tv and your song came on. As I watched and listened to your song, I was overwhelmed with a feeling of hurt for how I was treating this this amazing girl. Changed direction, made her a cup of coffee and chatted with her for awhile before driving her home. I never did see her again, but this song helped spawned a moment in my life, when I came to the self realisation that I was insensitive. Changed a great deal since then and have learned to be more loving and compassionate to all people. Thank you for this song, and thank you for sharing your love and energy.

Why am I just now seeing this? This has to be one of my top ten songs fron the 90s! I was in my early 20s then and this song came right after a heartbreak.
