- This year I have witnessed the sowing of hulless Barley (jau) in my hometown Labrang and Iam so happy and excited to share my experience through this video. Traditional farming in kinnaur is done by special animal name as Zofo (dzo ) .
A dzo (Tibetan མཛོ་ mdzo) (also spelled zo, zho and dzho) is a hybrid between the yak and domestic cattle. The word dzo technically refers to a male hybrid, while a female is known as a dzomo or zhom. In Mongolian it is called khainag .
This video includes all the steps of sowing and I have tried my best to show it .

It reminds me of my Grandfather. He would do the same before Green Revolution in present Moga district of Punjab in early 1960's. We need to return to the Traditional Farming.

We must continue this in future also for many reasons. In my opinion Health is more important than money. We should always keep some land for traditional farming (for organic crops ). Ploughing is done by special animal named as DZO and I have mentioned about the animal DZO (hybrid of cow and yak) in my discription. This is absolutely beautiful.It was a kind of nostalgia for me as when we used to visit our village in Almora Uttarakhand same methods were used to plough fields and then having lunch and tea on field was great.But now due to large scale migration in last 15 years there are hardly any people in villages with no farming. Uttarakhand-Himachal same culture and same beautiful people.

Beautiful..However, I would like to know in which chak (revenue record) this chunk of land falls because you have mentioned that that the tenancy and land holding of the area is shared by Labrang, Kanam, Spillo and Karla villages..Likewise, my village Kanda is also shared by three villages viz Yulla, Urni and Chagaon for grazing in the pastures..ours is a very beautiful Kanda famously known for Yulla Janamashtmi, however, there's no cultivation and farming..
Tapang is in Labrang village. But kanam , spilled and Karla people do have lands here . Thank you so much for watching 🙏
