Interesting approach, Steve. Thanks for documenting this. I'd maybe finish the job by doing a final bleed of the three bleed points once the car is up to temperature. I normally fill with the bleed points closed, bring it up to temperature and bleed all points a couple of times till the coolant reservoir drops and I get a good flow from all three bleed points. But your approach seems to be just as valid. 👍
Hi Jonathan, Many thanks for your comment, most appreciated. Yes I am sure your method works just as well, and I always keep a close eye on the coolant level for a couple of days after changing it, it seems to settle down after a couple of days and is now holding steady, all good. Regards Steve
Great video and I like the methodical approach. My underfloor pipes need changing for the stainless ones - I had the idea I could clamp off the hoses and avoid draining the coolant (it's been changed recently as I've had the water pump done) but I think that might not be easy and your video gives me the confidence a full coolant change shouldn't be too difficult anyway. Did you change the pipes yourself? Do you reckon that's achievable on the driveway?
Hi, Many thanks for your comment and yes changing the coolant pipes is relatively easy, I did it on my driveway. Glad you liked the video and really encouraging that it has given you the thought of having a go yourself, that is great to hear. Good luck, Regards Steve
