  • Hi everyone, here is my FIRST mod!
In this video I unbox and install the Skunk2 Billet Weighted Shift Knob (627-99-0081). I will be installing the knob on my 2009 Civic Si Sedan (8th Gen).
    *Tools Needed:
    -14 mm wrench
    The Detailed Directions:
    1) Put car into neutral, engage emergency brake.
    2) Use a 14 mm wrench to grasp the nut beneath the knob.
    3) Holding the OEM knob, twist the OEM nut CLOCKWISE to loosen it.
    4) Unscrew the OEM knob COUNTERCLOCKWISE.
    5) Unscrew the OEM nut COUNTERCLOCKWISE.
    6) Screw on Skunk2 nut CLOCKWISE all the way down.
    7) Screw on Skunk2 knob CLOCKWISE all the way down.
    8) Align the diagram properly on the knob (might have to loosen the knob.
    9) Finally, holding the Skunk2 knob firmly with your hand, tighten the Skunk2 nut COUNTERCLOCKWISE until the nut and knob are tight.
    10) DON'T GO HULKMASTERFLEX ON THE TIGHTENING OF THE KNOB. FIRM, BUT NOT HAM...
    11) Enjoy the SMOOTH SHIFTING!

Good ass review. I know how to change the knob I just hoped someone would talk about the weight difference and this was perfect. That you showed that because it’s something people always overlook.

Rizer M Glad you liked it. I've now had it for months, and it is worth it man. Shifting is smoother on my FA5. The gears slide right in when you are gentle. Very buttery, plus feels much nicer and heavier. You will enjoy it man, and the install is SUPER easy. Let me know if you got it man.

Cool video! Was considering this knob for my 9th si: autoboxracing.com/collections/shift-knob/products/nrg-type-r-shift-knobs
but after seeing this I'm considering the skunk2 knob; I like how the 6 speed diagram is engraved. Thanks for making me feel more confident in putting mine on once i get it :D
