    Some famous cellist dude was asked, “So how long does it take to prepare a piece?” And I think his response was, “ if the concert in in 7 months, well it takes 7 months. If the concert is in 7 days, well... it takes 7 days.”

      i feel sorry. her sight reading skills are average for a professional flutist. don't get impressed by something you don't know the difficulty involved to master it, that's how you give recognition to people that don't deserve it. (before any hate comes from anyone, she asked to say what did we think of this video. this was my opinion then)

    • @MartyMusic777
      @MartyMusic777 5 років тому +9

      @@jaune4720 Oh please - there is a massive world of difference between a professional musician in an ensemble setting cold reading a piece the day they have to play it versus knowing they have a week to work on a soloist part. Her sight reading skills aren't problematic - she's just being very methodical and cautious to avoid future issues.

    • @jaune4720
      @jaune4720 5 років тому

      @@MartyMusic777 and I agree with her method and what you say, it's exactly with patience and slowness that you need to incorporate difficulties of a piece :) I was just replying to the original comment, which I think is an exageration, because i've seen MANY great flautists sight reading and incorporating difficulties at a much quicker pace than her. and them, do really deserve a "beyond impressive" mention. but not this girl (that I really don't like, sorry for getting mad about her xD)

Task seems impossible but I take your point about preparing through scales studies and technique as Major part of preparation. I was never sure if I should just focus solely on the pieces and forget the rest. There’s never enough time and the pieces are way above my ability. What would others focus on. Anyway your playing is spectacular absolutely wonderful in every way possible im so in awe of you and you’re so young. 2 years of solid practise will do it. The denser the metal, the better the sound, but more work to get a great sound on a fabulous instrument like this.

    I think that whenever there's a difficult part and you've practiced it for a while and still can't get it right, you should go back and practice other parts where you have issues so that you don't drive yourself crazy with the same notes again and again and with accumulated frustration. Just my opinion as a non-musician, but practice it's somewhat of a universal thing, no matter what you're practicing, isn't it?
    Also, the rehearsal was so funny😂😂
