ABOUT CHICAGO FIRE
From renowned Emmy Award-winning executive producer Dick Wolf ("Law & Order" brand) and co-creator Derek Haas, the writer behind "3:10 to Yuma," comes Season 8 of "Chicago Fire." The family inside Firehouse 51 knows no other way than to lay it all on the line for each other. Capt. Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) leads the Truck Company and brash Lt. Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) runs the Rescue Squad. The firehouse also includes Battalion Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker), a fireman's fireman. Paramedic Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) returns alongside seasoned veteran Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and Randy "Mouch" McHolland (Christian Stolte), as well as resourceful firefighter Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo). I love how the wife is apologizing for trying to murder her husband's mom by committing arson and for consequently putting their son's life in danger. Like he's going to forgive her for this...

She wasn't apologizing for killing her mom. She's apologizing for putting their son in danger, for getting caught, and (from the sounds of it) her mother suffering/burning to death instead of dying from smoke inhalation like she thought.
Someone should comfort that man. Wife attempted to kill his mom and almost accidentally killed their only son.
As much as they probably want to, what can you really say or do for someone in that situation?

How can someone try to kill their own flesh and blood? Just because you want money? This clip made me really sad and upset. Jim clearly cares more about Kristen's mother than Kristen herself cares about her own mother. I hope Trevor doesn't become emotionally scarred for life because of what his mother did. I hope everything is set right after this.

@@dogcat823 I know. I read a News article about a woman shooting her 18 year old stepson point blank in the head whilst he was asleep, and then tried to kill her two stepdaughters. The 16 year old was critically wounded and the 14 year old managed to wrestle the gun from the woman. The daughters made it, but still mourn their brother. Another case, described a woman trying to kill her husband, by poisoning him with cyanide. However, he recognized the scent of bitter almonds and poured his drink in the sink. She then tried to stab him, but he dodged and slapped her in the face so as to get away. He grabbed their newborn child and ran out of the house. She followed but tripped and fell onto her knife, accidentally slicing her carotid artery. She died later in hospital after her husband had kept her alive by pressing a shirt against her wound. These cases make me sad.

The thing that got on my nerves is that they immediatly went for that father. Like really ? They both had a reason to do it so instead of blaming 1 go for both of them and check history and time where they been and what they have been doing. But no lets just go instantly for the father. Perfect. And then to act surprised that it was the mom... Like yeah just discusting. Also what the hell did the mother expect? She say sorry for trying to do all of that and the husband will just forgive her? Like what ?
I think they never expected the wife because it was her mother that died in the blaze. When she confessed, she thought her mother would die a painless death, so I doubt anyone would have found any history of animosity between them and it's often a media stereotype for in-laws to be at odds. I haven't seen the episode though, so I don't know the depth of the research, but from the confession it feels if they were looking at her she probably seemed like the least likely suspect because she seemed to be in good standing with her mother.
Plot twist: she set the fire because her mom tried to steal her husband:)
