I’m from the M and didn’t know about these locations. Thank you so much for sharing these spots in MTown . I’m definitely trying each one you recommended.
can't believe I just now found this channel! subscribed.
Ok listen! Evelyn & Olive is a hole in the wall type joint. At night it is REALLY dark and a bit dreary. If you’re with friends and/or others that you enjoy the company of you won’t be bothered by the dark ambience.
The cost matched the portion size, it was worth every penny and we enjoyed EVERY BITE of our meal. I enjoyed the oxtails, steamed cabbage, fried plantains (mine and my husbands😂) and beans and rice. My husband enjoyed a Caribbean Treasure Fried Chicken, steamed cabbage, beans and rice. We shared the Jam Down Jerk Chicken Wings and a Jamaican Beef Patty, which were EQUALLY delicious. Each entree contained a few pieces of cucumber which had a seasoning on it that was delicious, though slightly salty due to heat handed was on my plate.
My husband tried my ox tails, he did not approve and I tried his Caribbean Treasure Fried Chicken and I did not approve 😂😂😂, however, this is typical for us. We rarely enjoy the same plate of food outside of our home. I STRONGLY recommend giving Evelyn and Olive a try.
To drink my husband enjoyed the 2 Happy Hour specials, Mango Rum Punch and a Jamaican Rum Punch. The Mango Rum Punch was beautifully made and the Jamaican Rum Punch was pinkish and did not contain mango. The Mango Rum Punch was sweet, but the other was strong and punched you in the throat (my husband enjoyed both). I drank water and Tonic Water.
When you get there ask for Zedra (s/p, her name is pronounced Zee-druh) she is ABSOLUTELY amazing, well-traveled and a joy to be served by. Her local knowledge and knowledge abroad was MORE than helpful.
Again, give them a try!
Thanks for posting this video, it was EXTREMELY helpful for the out-of-towners looking to eat like a local. Your recommendation is why we dined at Evelyn & Olive. We were also sure to show our waitress this video so that they’d know that a rave review is why we ended up here. Thanks again! ☮️
I gotta get my funds right to go Memphis TN for the food ❤...it looks so good ❤

Did you try Southern Hands Home Style cooking?
I see that I'll have to bring my own silverware to the genre. Sugar shack... Why do all of these places have plastic forks and spoons?
At the 1st restaurant, The Genre, what was the first dish you ate? Was it taquitos or something else?
It was southwestern eggrolls the chef likes to cut them straight down the middle instead and I liked the way that had looked
Me 2 Zammnn
Come on Memphis...I love the new black vegan screen in Memphis.
Next time cut the 🍎 🍏 so we can see the inside please
I wanna go, but I want to stay alive and not get carjacked while going there though
