Usually I find credits very boring and don't sit through them, but when I heard this ending song I had to listen to it. So far, my favorite anime movie has been The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. I felt like that move taught me a lesson. Even the most unemotional and quietest people still have wishes, dreams and desires.
I think Five Centimeters Per Second and Redline still edge out as "best anime movie ever" in my mind, but after marathon-ing Season 2 of Haruhi and then watching the movie... Damn. This series has a special place in my heart now. I'm pretty sure Nagato is my favorite character, especially after TvTropes helped me catch on to a bit of fridge logic about all of this, but all in all... Damn, this was a good series.
Poor Yuki... Kyon could have told her a joke. And maybe she'll laugh. And she'll blush. And maybe her heart will open up someday, and she'll like that. He could have done that.
This... this sonority, who the hell came up with this kind of idea? When I thought everything was alright, then I feel this heavy loneliness crawling upon my back. When I thought Kyon made a good choice, after hearing this I really feels the sadness and loneliness of a Yuki Nagato and her standing in the middle of oblivion.
The melancholic essence of this song, along with the lack of instruments, the lyrics, and the fact that it was sung by Yuki's voice actress just makes this song hit me really hard. Despite the fact that if I had to pair Kyon with someone, it would undoubtedly be Haruhi, I have to feel so bad for Yuki. The movie really surprised me because of how serious and emotional it was, while the anime was so humorous and chaotic. Nonetheless, I loved it all, and this song ended the whole experience well.
Whoever decided Tikhara Minori to be Nagato's VA, he is a genius. I fell in love with this character the moment I herd her saying her own name in this soft and deep voice. And when I listen to this song, I realize I'm still falling into the abyss of love.
This version is honestly the best; because it really sounds like she's singing it to you directly. In all honesty the Select Enter song made me cry too. The lyrics of all her character songs are touching in their own special way, which is yet another reason why we all adore our little purple haired alien loli :3

It fits Yuki very well, and it had me reflect on the film, as well as the Haruhi Suzumiya series as a whole. Truly amazing.

Just saw this movie today... three points during the movie, I almost cried. I managed to control myself, though... until this song came up. I broke down into tears for the first time since I was a little kid.

just cannot express the feeling after watching the movie, though i always love nagato, after the movie, i feel so bad for her D: nagato deserves better than that, whether she create this panic due to her wish for a normal life or her feeling to kyon ( which is suggested by a fan fiction named 長門有希の暴走, ps even though its a fan fiction, but it is very touching and popular and it also matches the official timeline without callpsing it which would mostly happen in fan fiction :3)

there really isn't a right or wrong. Yuki;s power made it very clear, even if kyon decide on the new world, no one will be hurt. Haruhi and koizumi will be safe, they will just be in different school. There will be no crazy adventure, but hey he can be with cutie nagato, both world have their pro and cons, it is all up to kyon to decide and he just happen to decide the old one. even if he had chosen the new world, everything will still go on peacefully.
When I watched the movie... not only did the emotional train wreak the movie went on itself, but the song... I didn't think I had anymore heart to be crushed. And if I made a song and it translated into Japanese, I would want Yuki's voice actor to sing it!

@Yoshigotho XD Er, I go to Chapters, and get it out of a shelf and buy it! The only time I didn't buy it myself was when I got it as a gift. I think most book stores would have them, but if you don't know where it is, just ask the staff! (That's what I did, in any case, I can't find books on my own...) Maybe I shouldn't have said that I hated reading. "Hate" is such a strong word after all. Dislike? Either way, I think you understand my point. I hope I helped you! :)

It's a really good series, but some of them turn horrific when extended over a long period of time (if you like those series though, it's your choice. :) ) If you want to continue the series read the novel. It's pretty good (I own up to six, they came to Canada~). You can read the manga too, but... I don't know how to explain it, I'm more satisfied with the novel, even though I usually hate reading... In any case, enjoy!
