9pm is so great. It lasts, smells great, and even the bottle is high quality. There is no way anyone would think it is as cheap as it is

@@Shaunworld725 It's definitely a closer clone with the pear note instead of the apple, but the apple goes so good with the sharper cinnamon and creamy vanilla.
And it lasts almost twice as long...for me anyway.

@@mmp_4477 I picked up over 1k in fragrances a couple months ago. Got 11 from Happyland, 6 from Dapper, and everything else was middle eastern (mostly Lattafa).
My display shelves are packed full and there are zero in the bunch that I don't look forward to wearing out. All winners.

At the end of the day there’s nothing like having the original but you definitely can’t go wrong with afnan 9pm. I have them both and love them both 💯

Great video - I chose to purchase 9Pm over Ultra male . I don’t always choose the Alt or Dupe over an original, but I do look at value if they are close .

In my video on 9PM I used that as another example of why I might choose a “ Clone “ , “ Alternative “ or “inspired by “ fragrance over one that is popular and mass selling . I had purchased Ultra Male earlier this year, but have been waiting for cooler weather to wear Ultra Male. Thinking about selling my unopened Ultra Male now.
Ultra male is yr anytime of year wear. It don't need cool weather. Summer nights and all other seasons

I think it comes down to the aesthetic and scent character over time (over the span of a few months), at least in my testing. Don't get me wrong. I still think the Afnan is a solid contender in terms of the overall scent of Ultra Male, but I think it is closer to another clone (Zara's Gourmand Leather) than the JPG. In my experience on skin, I found the Ultra Male to have more fruits, sweetness, and depth whereas my 9 PM was more aromatic, airy, and not as in your face. Maybe it was due to the older batch of UM that I had or maybe my nose is more sensitive to something in the 9 PM, but I'm casually drawn towards the OG, if anything. However, I think nowadays, paying an exorbitant price for the Ultra Male is a no-go, so I'd say that the value of the Afnan is very good if you just want a great daily wear scent without having to nitpick too much.
I guess it is subjective. I have both of them and the first few times I smelt 9PM, I thought I preferred it more, but I tested them side by side for a few days and I began to prefer Ultra Male more; it's sweeter and it has the pear note. I personally think Ultra Male smells smoother and 9PM smells more synthetic and almost has this "fizzy" vibe to it. I'm not a fragrance expert and I'm not sure if it's amped up lavender, or the Lily of the Valley in 9PM that gives me this soapy overload, I pick up so much soap and that's what puts me off it.
I have recent batches of both and 9PM projects a tad louder and longer but for me when I test longevity a few hours before bed and then wake up, I'm always able to smell Ultra Male more and when I heat up and sweat, Ultra Male livens up more than 9PM for me. But I'd definitely give 9PM the point here since it projects better and longer when it matters, I just prefer the smell of Ultra Male. I've also asked a few girls and they have preferred Ultra Male.

For the price and performance I'd definitely pick 9PM. If you ever get the chance to get Fragrance One Unisex, it's the best version of this DNA I've ever smelled.
Like I posted earlier on the "prelude" to this video.... I have two backup bottles of Afnan... and with the size of my collection, and at my age 🤷🏻... I feel certain that I'm set for life when it comes to this scent profile. I agree 100% with what you've said.

I still have a 2015 ultra male and about to finish it, I think the new ones are a bit weaker which is understandable so I think I will go for the Afnan 9pm this time.
I put on 2 sprays of 9PM and could spell it strongly 10 hours later. It was cold at the time, which I think makes a difference. But that stuff performs.
Yo, I heard all the reviews on what a beast this is and finally got my bottle today. All I can say is the reviews were right. 9pm is better than ultra male in every category. This fragrance is so strong, I did 3 sprays, and had to wash some of it off like an hour later. Been on skin now for about 4 hours and still pushing hard.

Call me crazy if you want, but if you spray Montblanc Legend EDP on your skin first, then 9pm, I get closer to Ultra Male that way. I know, doesn't seem like it would work, but those sort of spicy/mineralic qualities that make Ultra Male special, I kinda get them back when I do Legend EDP with 9pm on top, without just fruity/sweet bomb...but you get 9pm performance ;) Your mileage may vary.

Ok I have had a Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Ultramale for months before I even discovered Afnan 9PM. All the raving reviews and the cheap price made me buy a bottle. JPG definitely has the sophistication and is downright sexy. Afnan 9PM has a nice opening but thats all. It smells something so different a couple hours into the drydown

JPG is better cause smell quality. 9pm smell low quality after 3hrs on skin but still good fragrance.
Both I don't like cause prominent oriental scent. Smell like my late great grandma's talcum powder. Don't get me wrong, both fragrances are good. Just my personal opinion.
The prominent scent is the most important scent to be discuss then notes breakdown from top to base.
I think afnan is a superior choice and I get a little leather in there maybe it's just me, & it lasts days on the clothes..💯

Last year I had to choose between le male le parfum (which I really like) and ultra male. But after smelling more often ultra male, I just wanted to grab it also, because they're completely different fragrances imo.
Luckily I bought 9pm a couple of weeks ago for 18 bucks here in Germany, I think I won't get ultra male now.

Everyone is going to have different opinions,skin chemistry,experiences etc. I honestly can’t tell the difference in the air nor can anyone else that I allowed to test this. On my skin Afnan 9pm last a lot longer than Ultra Male. And I don’t care about a damn batch code when it pertains to ANY fragrance 😂
The price is up on that 9pm right now. Bout 30 bucks difference .but to keep it a buck.. le male parfum is where it's at

Hi, do you mean the middle eastern perfumes like Amouage and Arabian oud that have amazing quality but the middle eastern clone perfumes don't even have the quality of designer perfumes and are synthetic
@@BigBoss-bi8qd yes exactly the ones you mentioned. Also Sospiro and some others less known middle eastern brands have good quality but not the clone houses like Lattafa, Armaf or Al Haramain to mention some.

I don't know, personally I've never found a clone that smells so close to the original, that I would choose the clone. That 15% makes a big difference.
In times where UM is discontinued which drives the price up, getting 9PM isnt a bad choice.

Ok update the fragrance warmed up it was just delivered and it’s cold here . I shook the bottle up . And re tried it and it’s pretty good . This is so strong I’m gonna need a power washer to get this off me . But I like it the apple is amazing .

Now IMO I purchased Ultra Male when it first hit Macy's back around 2017 or 2018 and it was a beast I mean one of the the best fragrance of the year . Then it had gotten reformulated a couple of years later and the performance and the projection and the longevity just isn't there. I was gifted 9 PM and it is a good fragrance but it doesn't stand up to the OG Ultra Male it is better than the newer batch. But for the price you can't go wrong

Yeah, I had I bottle of 9pm and I loved it sounds weird but the synthetic sweet smell off the top was my favorite then I dropped it and it broke, the second bottle I got was a lot smoother still sweet but not as in ur face :(

Man I must have the worst luck ever ultra male has been on my to buy list for awhile it’s just been down the list I just got caught up and literally just pulled the trigger last night on a bottle but I got a pretty good deal I think I paid $75 for a 4.2 oz on a Halloween sale which is still pretty cheap so not too worried to have spent a little more on the OG should be here in a day or 2 haven’t smelled either but if I like ultra male I’ll probably end up buying both 😂
I have bought JPG for years, it was my go to for a LONG time. I recently bought a sampler pack of their other colognes which included a sample of Ultra Male.
I love Ultra Male, it is amazing. I heard all the positive reviews on 9pm, so I just bought a bottle and it arrived today.
From all the reviews, I was expecting to LOVE it… I was shocked, I think 9pm smells awful. Nothing like Ultra Male, very synthetic, so bad I was glad I just tried it at home, not going out in public.
I’m not sure if I got a bad batch, or something went wrong, because I can’t understand all the positive reviews and love.
I will be returning it asap, and I’m sad. I wanted to love it.
PS: Please don’t think I am a brand name snob. I also recently bought a $20 bottle of Cremo Black Spice and Vanilla and I LOVE that.
Price and brand don’t matter to me, I just care about the smell and my bottle of 9pm smells synthetic and bad.

I bought it opened it sprayed it and handed it over to my girlfriend and said here I love you . This smells like a womens parfume this is not masculine at all . All I smell is baby powder . Now this is just my opinion.

Let me know how is it for you. I got the recent batch like 10.2022. And when I spray it’s so strong but after 30 mins it feels light to me, maybe I’m just getting nose blind. I went for 2-3 sprays only

@@ammar.2300 it should arrive today if I'm lucky, but it says it's expected to arrive tomorrow. I ordered mine from notino. Some people who own the 2022 batch said that it didn't project well during the first days but then when they had let it sit for a few weeks it had became a bit stronger and better performing. But I'll make sure to update you when I've tried it.
