His best work. Faith, Mancini, Ravel, Riddle, and a handful of others arranged with a dreamy spirit and soul. Reza and Riddle's "Theme from Route 66" are the indisputable bookends of cool.
@adamjames86 Excellent interpretation of the master Percy Faith, I congratulate you for such good taste in music. There is here in (UA-cam) another interpretation of the same but it is not so good and seems to be from Percy Faith too, recorded in 1971. I mean it has no better musical arrangement and sounds quite less sensual.
I like the fact he took on the same song and came up with a different "take" on it. The '71 version seems to be a little more "pop" and a more prominent drum and rhythm section than the "Bim Bam Boom" version. Both are good, but I prefer the '63 version best.
One of my favorite Percy Faith tunes. Love this song, and his interpretation with the "build up" is fantastic. A great song to blast on a really good stereo (am I dating myself by saying "stereo"?).
