  • We did a podcast on our postpartum experience and discussed whether or not postpartum depression played a part. We all know how the first few months after birth can be testing, and this is the first time we have spoken about it properly. The conversation ended up lasting over two hours and got a lot deeper than we expected.
This is one of the parts we have agreed to share.
We always aim to have honest and open conversations on this channel and do our best to explore all angles and perspectives. We appreciate that this is a sensitive topic and in no way aim to downplay anyone's lived experience. This is simply our experience and how we choose to navigate through such difficulties.
Feel free to share your thoughts and own experiences.
    All our love.

Hormones after pregnancy play havoc. Together with things like mastitis, blocked ducts, cracked nipples, stitches etc etc. So everything else can be magnified in a woman’s head. Luckily Sufyan is so in tune mashA and Ammarah u will super prepared next time inshA. Feeling low is a biological effect and support, eating well, praying, talking all helps. Great podcast.Thankyou. ❤

lol couldn't focus on the video when Amaya showed up. I couldn't stop watching her, she's so adorable MashAllah she gave me baby fever. I also loved how while you guys are having this deep conversation you're both just casually entertaining her with Amara's necklace and Sufyan's bracelets

Pregnancy, breastfeeding are such tricky times. Be kind to yourself Amarah. Give yourself more credit. You have done and are still doing amazing. Sufyan if only more men and husbands were like you and willing to talk through thse things with such patience..with some men they lack forget emotional maturity but just maturity in general to talk about anything! I'm so happy for you guys allahumma barik. May Allah always grant unity and compassion and love between you both. Aameen
