That has to be one of the most hauntingly beautiful openings for a rock song with Oreo's powerful vocals and Tomo-zo's incredible riff on top of the powerful rhythm section. Also, it is nice to hear Tomo-zo higher in the mix. I always enjoy watching her no matter if she is dressed like a girly girl with antennas on top of her head or looking like a true rock legend in this concert. These women are amazing musicians especially with their ability to master such a wide variety of genres.
@@thedocofrock1890 She was a drummer first, in a side-project band called Heian, but she said she really didn't take drumming seriously until she joined Gacharic Spin. Heian started practices in 2004 and played gigs in 2005. KOGA was on bass, her PINK PANDA bandmate RINA was on guitar and Kaori Asakura from 12.Hitoe was on keyboards. 12.Hitoe didn't disband until 2006 so I'm not sure if Kaori and Hana were still in it. Not sure who was the Heian singer, and Hana said she also played guitar. Haven't found much on them other than they opened for PINK PANDA a few times, and made a DVD of their final appearance. The DVD cover showed them in pink maid outfits, and KOGA wore her outfit again in the Doll$Boxx video for "Take My Chance." Armeria was formed sometime in 2005 under the name Straight Flush, renamed as Armeria in April 2006, signed with a label in December 2006, and disbanded sometime in 2008. One of my favorite song by one of my favorite band. This whole concert is amazing! I really love Oreo’s vocals on “Dragonet”, she sounds like an angel. And few hours later, she will be dressed as a burger for the Gacharic Spin performance 🍔 🎹😂 Thank you Ryan and Home Gnome
@@homegnome2429 I would like to make some Gachapin requests for today’s Wave’s livestream. Can I use your “Rabbit Hole” video? I also would like to introduce Wave to the other new Gachapin songs. I guess it’s my turn to request some Gacharic Spin 😉
I already asked Wave to react to Rabbit Hole as one of my 3 Patreon requests for November, so hopefully coming soon. If you want to request something else from the show I can potentially upload it today (some are better recordings than others). Just let me know.
@@homegnome2429 ok great. Save the other songs for next livestreams. I watched the 13th anniversary only once so I can’t remember all the songs. I’m going to request “Reverse Psychology” and “138”, plus 3 other “older” songs.
@@2abug Just to be clear, my requests won't be on stream, they'll be individual reactions cause I find that with the ones on stream they overall get fewer views and comments (although the streams are good fun). My other 2 requests this month are also older, the MV's for "Lock on" and "Juicy Beats" - hope that's not conflicting with you? I'll upload my version of "Reverse Psychology" so you can use that for the request if you want. Also, just to note that wave has heard "138" before from Angie's concert, but I'm sure will enjoy again / forget he heard it before...
Before I ever saw the video, I thought Oreo was creating her sounds on the key board's, then I find out it's her beautiful voice instead, truly one of the most magnificent and beautiful thing's I've ever heard, I can't get enough Doll$Boxx.
On the studio version the effect on her voice definitely makes it hard to know if it’s keyboard or vocal, which is one of the main reasons I like to show people the live version :)
The Superist of Super Groups! I miss this band. . . Hana is the goat! I'm really looking forward to later next year when they reunite. At least, that's the lie I tell myself to keep going.
I love Gacharic Spin, but this is just as good. I bought their ep and only album last year, wish they had more music. They are all very, very good at what they play, but Koga is unbelievable on the bass. Thanks.
Ryan mate! Greetings on a fine autumn days after picking herbs in the garden! I noticed your merch with Japanese yen prices! LOL This band is really good and part of the higher level of Japanese rock/metal/punk bands. Five-string bass (and Wagakki Band lead guitarist Machiya playing an elongated 7-string lead guitar, Asterism bass on a 7-string...) and other improved instruments have become the norm. This band instrumentalists are top class although the drummer is too keen to show. The singer's voice is a bit one-dimensional, but they are top in their own genre. The bar is so high in Japan, and males have a hard time competing with the ladies! Thank you so much for your reaction once again! Take good care of yourself (ves), Bes regards, Robert-Gilles
You nailed it. There are a dozen Japanese bands, at least, that are stacked like this. It's not that a country as big as the U.S. doesn't have great musicians, but most of them seem to be doing session work for the corporate pop stars.
Same could be said for Japan as well. Metal is such a small market in Japan that a lot of those players do session work to keep the lights on. Example : Kami band...All session players. Tamu from Nemo is one of the best session drummers around. Just to name a few.
@@yolandria Yes, it has always been true that most artists have to take on work to pay the bills. There is one difference: In the U.S., there is no equivalent of Unlucky Morpheus, Lovebites, Band-Maid, Nemophila, Hagane, Wagakki Band, etc. There are Polyphia and Animals as Leaders, but they are considered super prog and intellectual, not at all mainstream.
Japan Rocks. Btw Kiyoshi said "Tell Ryan i have a figure hugging, shimmering silver wet-look dress that looks a bit like a fish. is that any good"?🤷♂️
Shout out to Home Gnome for suggesting this one Ryan (love that segue directly from Dragonet into the drum solo) but you may need to correct Wave on his pronunciation of Hana's name come the next installment of Gaijin Guys as he continually butchers her name!!! LOL 😆(Hannah as opposed to Hana)✌❤🤘
Stupid that there is so much talent in one band. Gacha Pin and D$B are bands I'd love to see live just to have that sound wash over me. Ryan, when you gonna do Dazzle Vision? ;)
The only band potentially more stacked than Doll$Boxx is, unsurprisingly, Unlucky Morpheus. Fuki just knows how to surround herself with the best of the best.
I would like this soooo much better without the japanese style vibrato. I really can't bring myself to like it. That's why I prefer Band-Maid, Nemophila and Babymetal. The musicianship is incredible though!
Her vibrato is what kept bringing me back to Doll$boxx, actually! Shoutdown was on a playlist from my Discord and I couldn't get Fuki's vocals on the choruses out of my head.... Kept going back and listening. I do not, however, like her vocals as much with Unlucky Morpheus.... Go figure
@@RyanMear Fuki time in "Light Bringer" produced a happy medium of progressive metal (?) with less vibrato. But also a different singing style where she uses the lower register of her voice to great effect. Here is an example, the song is called "Love You", live of course. ua-cam.com/video/bvWJuFBQe7o/v-deo.html

This is so good, that it makes me sad. Sad that American rock isn't this good anymore.
Same here in Oz
Blame it on the audience. People here want narcissistic whining, not music. So the industry gives it to them. Taylor Swift. I rest my case.
