I can tell you how i feel Watching this…. The Elephant stands no chance with White Man with gun!! 👍. What makes a elephant a magnificent? Cause it’s big and provides a lot of meat? Or did you watch one too many Disney Movies?
It makes ya feel a whole host of emotions, joy of a successful hunt, a major adrenaline rush, sadness that the animal is dead, respect for the life it lived, and a feeling of being part of nature.
What enables you to keep your nerves in such a situation? Is it training, routine, habit, some sort of killer instinct? I mean we are not talking about 'hunting' like shooting from a tree stand or another safe place here. One mistake, one accident and your life will be over. So what is your psychological basis when it comes to the point of no return? From what I see you put yourself in the situation where you have to fight for your own life. Awsome!
It’s just repetition. Your first big animal is incredibly hard, adrenaline is pumping, but the second is easy. I’ve never killed elephants, but I shot plenty of big game across North America and Africa, including charging Bison, Water Buffalo, and moose. But I shot my first deer when I was eight, and my first elk at 13, and grew up slaughtering animals on the farm, so my experience is definitely different than most people’s, I’ve never had to reckon with where my food came from unlike most people killing their first large animal.
I've never hunted bug game from a stand. In 60+ years of hunting, I'm 70. Walking, tracking, yes, not from a position. The feelings are joy at succeeding at a natural act of a predator, feeding myself and others, overcoming another predator sometimes. Then, when hunting dangerous game, the exilleration of surviving is there.

Fully agree. Also, the human race is overpopulated. Needs a nature balance like the elephants. Should Jeff start with you? These are living creatures that too own this earth as much as humans. Who are people like you standing in judgement as to who lives and who dies?
An old mature bull has already spread his genes. It's like taking out whitetail bucks when they're huge, by the time they're big and good looking they've already bred for several seasons
@@powerhouseexotics but killing old bulls leads to even more arrgreisve elephants. Study’s show when the bull is around the young elephants, their entire life they will grow up less arggresive.
@philseiberling9933 Not every single old bull elephant is being killed, tho. plus older bulls more often than not receive the "right to breed" and prevent younger bulls from breeding due to the older males' size and skill, and since older bulls have decreased fertility, there's less of a chance for calves to be born. Plus, a lot of hunts are given out to old bulls who are causing issues for the locals. They aren't mass killing off old bulls (in some areas this happens due to poaching and that's where the delinquent bulls come from). Areas where managed hunting takes place don't have that issue as very few old bulls are killed and it's mostly the problem ones being killed.
@philseiberling9933 elephants live 70+ years. They hit a reproductive high at 40-50 so that's 20-30 years where they are living and not being as useful to breeding programs. Plus there's still the whole issue of needing to cull the ones who bother the local people who rely on their crops and such to keep their families alive.
Now I'm not going to sit here and say anything negative about a man hunting game. Humans have for thousands of years. I've also hunted my entire life and killed lots of big game. But, I don't believe I could ever find it in me to kill an elephant. I know it is pretty contradictory because all animals have young, lives they live, and can feel pain. But for me, these animals can look into your soul and ask "why have you done this to me?". The hunter said the animal is not wasted and that is a relief.
So you're just blatantly admitting you're a hypocrite. You're either against inflicting pain and suffering on innocents or for it. Why hasn't "why have you done this to me?" crossed your mind when you killed big game? Using every part of an animal doesn't suddenly make shit better, their life is taken and they're harmed for trivial and unnecessary products we've long since surpassed necessity for.
