LYRICS TRANSLATION:
From under the oak, from under the elm, and,
From the elm of the root, and,
Here're the viburnum berries and here's raspberry!
From under the elm's root, and,
That's a danger to my house,
Oh, those viburnum berries! Oh, that raspberry!
A rapid stream was running
Out of your clear eyes, Oh,
Oh, those viburnum berries! Oh, that raspberry!
And a girl in a shawl was floating
on that stream
Here're the viburnum berries and here's raspberry!
She was making some soap,
And dropped her roller into the water.
Here're the viburnum berries and here's raspberry!
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Oh, my sweetheart,
You do not leave me,
You do not quit, do not leave,
Since I was left alone.
Oh, I played with a girl,
I played with a young one,
Then I misbehaved,
And ran out "for a walk".
Ah, you viburnum berry!
Oh, you sweet raspberry girl!
Here're the viburnum berries and here's raspberry!
Ah, you viburnum berry!
Oh, you sweet raspberry girl!
Here're the viburnum berries and here's raspberry!
There's a party going on
Near our house gates!
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh!
Oh oh oh oh!
Oh, yes! Oh, hey!
From under the oak, from under the elm, and,
From the elm of the root, and,
Here're the viburnum berries and here's raspberry!
Here're the viburnum berries and here's raspberry!
Here is the viburnum, hey!

Alexey Sergeev sings this so well and so full of enthusiasm: he looks like he is enjoying the music as much as who listens to it if not even more. Beautiful song and i must say, very damn hard to perform with the faster and faster rythm it has.
I have this on their third record and it’s one of my favorites! I’m glad I found it here! Red Army is honestly my favorite ♥️
1:20 the satisfaction on his face after delivering a fast paced line followed by the rest of the choir is a face of satisfaction
First time hearing this song. Wonderful

I'm very glad that you liked this video! )
With my family coming from russland even though the circumstances for Jews were bad we loved the culture music and Russian church choir music as much as Russians who turned their choirs into orchestras

Why is the singer wearing a different uniform than the others?
That's a very interesting question! )) But I don't know the answer yet...
I'm afraid that you're not quite right here. The rank in both videos are same. Besides there were singers in the choir of much higher rank than Sergeev had.
It was most likely because he was the soloist, at the concerts the background singers would stay there but the soloists would change around depending on what song it was.
Leonid Kharitonov (Леонид Харитонов) I agree, however the soloist and background singer were completely different roles, for example, soviet airforce uniform was different to soviet army uniform, although they were in the same military, different uniforms accompany different roles in a certain profession, so yes some singers may have been higher rank etc but the soloist is a different role to the background voice usually.
I see his shoulder board is the rank of Starshina of Sergeant Major.
And I thought I had a double chin
🤓
😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂
Was this song about calming babies down?
Of course, not for that. This was for dancing on a fest
Guy has a great voice. BUT how many double chins does he have.
More chins than a chinese phonebook.
Chin amount: bass
