    Must admit this has been a great summer buy. Sat in it now writing this with phone in waterpròof cover. You get hot tub for 10% cost of a real one with 70% of the functionality. Try one of these before opting for the real deal.

    • @fiveminuteman

      @AndrewKeyz 4 роки тому +1

      Such a good point. I haven't seen ANYONE ever mention that in comments or reviews. Surely a plumber could easily plumb an outside hot tap with a typical hose screw connector. I have a solar panel for hot water as some relatively new houses have standard come with in the UK. Lay Z Spa even recommends it I just saw. Just need to make sure the temperature isn't more than 40 degrees C and might have to consider anti bacterial. It's a good tip regardless. In the long run much cheaper.

When your goni full tub with water.. Full your hot tub completely with hot water.. • @fiveminuteman
      @fiveminuteman  5 років тому

      Longest heat up is from cold tap water which can take 2-3 hours to be usable. if your not having the heater on all the time you will probably need 1-2 hour heating warmup before use. Get the insulated mat squares to help retain heat and put the cover on at night. Budget £50 per month for UK electric costs if plugged in and left on all the time. I have just bought a Miami lazy spa and confused as to whether I should run the heater all the time say on 38 degrees. Last night we used it for the first time for a few hours and temp dropped to around 35. We turned it off overnight and this morning temp was only 22 so having to reheat up again. Just wondering if we should permanently leave the heater running 24 hours a day, but worried about an enormous electric bill.

    • @fiveminuteman
      @fiveminuteman  5 років тому +1

      Leaving the heater on 24/7 at 35 will result in an additional £50 electric bill each month. Weekends (most use) leave heater on at 30. Weekdays with less use perhaps just switch on in the morning at 25 then boost to 38 a couple of hours before. Always use cover when not in use as evaporation increases temperature loss. Also running bubbles will drop temperature. Needs a bit of thinking regards heater and use. Hope this helps.

      agmills86 not sure what part that is. I have the pump connected and running in filter mode 24 hours a day. Consumes about 41 watts while running. I put a container over the pump to shade from sun and also rain as i understand water ingress has been a problem in past pumps. Come winter it will all be packed away.

      5 Minute Man looks like there's a terminal to screw an earth cable onto the bottom of the pump, just watching your other 2 spa videos anyway :D

    Why u need foil

      Best to insulate the base with foam tiles and bubble foil to prevent heat loss from base.
