Band Ghost
Album Prequelle
Song Dance Macabre
Released June 1, 2018
Recorded 2017
You'll soon be hearing the chime
Close to midnight
If I could turn back the time
I'd make all right
How could it end like this?
There's a sting in the way you kiss me
Something within your eyes
Said it could be the last time
'Fore it's over!
Just wanna be
Wanna bewitch you in the moonlight
Just wanna be
I wanna bewitch you all night
It keeps on giving me chills
But I know now
I feel the closer we get
To the last vow
I don’t wanna end like this (Like this, yeah)
But the sting in the way you kiss me (I'm loving it)
Something within your eyes
Said it could be the last time
'Fore it's over!
Just wanna be
Wanna bewitch you in the moonlight
Just wanna be
I wanna bewitch you all night
Just wanna be
I wanna bewitch you one last time with me tonight
Just wanna be
I wanna bewitch you all night
solo
Just wanna be
Wanna bewitch you in the moonlight
Just wanna be
Wanna bewitch you all right
Just wanna be
Wanna bewitch you in the moonlight
Just wanna be
I wanna bewitch you all night
All right!
Woh-woh-woh, wohh!
Songwriters: Vincent Pontare / Salem Al Fakir

All the dislikes are from those that weren’t bewitched in the moonlight.
they were bewitched in the daylight
Heathens must be shunned!!!
As soon as I get a guitar I'm learning this
Fr
For real
Finally a modern band that got the 80's sound right.
Sounds nothing like 80s, great song tho.
@@Pandareen sounds very much like the scorpions
It is a very scorpions sounding song
@@jessekulbe1855 I hear Bon Jovi - Runaway and DIO - Rainbow In The Dark vibes in it.
Meatloaf baby
This whole time I thought he said ' be with you in the moonlight' and now it's makes so much more sense that I learned he says 'bewitch you in the moonlight'. What beautiful play of words man. This band is amazing!
I always sing with you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You ain't the only one
I just discovered this too and thats exactly what I thought: Great ord play
DANGIT PAPA... Clever beast!
Me too.
Imagine dancing to this at a halloween prom with the one you love at the first time.
Yoooooooo 🖤🖤🖤🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Or in the graveyard = )

World is not that perfect fuck your loved one hail Ghost !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
😍😍😍😍
The fact that bands like Ghost are still making great 80's music that's more than just covers gives me hope for the future of music. The album art also has that strong 80's vibe to it. If there was a horror film with practical effects this should be in the sound track for it.
I believe it was supposed to be 60s but yeah it does sound like the 80s aswell!
60s
Ghost - a satanic band whose lead singer totally has a voice of an angel..
Satan is an angel remember?
@@chopperjack509 Satan is an Archangel :)
Lol exactly. He is a king shit badass angel.
@@chopperjack509 He was god's favourite son :)
@Mondo Gamer have you seen the official music video? Or any of their other songs? Even the members themselves acknowledged the satanic cues throughout their music although according to them it's all tounge in cheek.
The start of the guitar solo always sends chill down my spine. Gives you a sense of passion, thrill, hope, and some excitement.
Fucking love this band.
Im glad im not the only one that gets these feelings with this band
They have a unique flavor for sure, their live show is amazing as well.
I fucking love this band too!! It's so wholesome!!
When I saw this live and the guitar solo hit and that confetti started flying, I was choking back tears. Not sure why I reacted that way, but it was so beautiful and amazing.
Maybe because of the lyrics with the fact that it was the final song of the concert, but yeah, it was Amazing.
That's what happens when it touches you way down deep- in your soul. I cannot wait to see them and have the full Ghost experience in concert. It is CRAZY; I am 42 and just got turned on to this band now... talk about Mandela Effect! I have never heard anything about them; bo lore, music, anything at all!! So happy that I know them now. I freaking can't get enough! Papa is so hot!! SMASH PAPA!! SMASH, SMASH, SMASH!!!
You aren’t alone man 🥺👻
This song has one of the best guitar intros ever recorded. It's simple and powerful, in the same sense, as Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple. It's that good.
Imma be honest, there is one relatively recent song that beats this. "This is Gonna Hurt" by Sixx A.M
es un solo increible
Eddie Van Halen would like a word with you sir.
One day this will be played for the first dance at my wedding.
I can't decide between this or Square Hammer for mine lol
@@darkone3375 Dance Macabre for your wedding. Square Hammer is WWWWAAAAAAYYYYY overplayed.
This will be played at my funeral! Its freaking perfect.
Just thinking that myself!
@Robert Arnold given the lyrics themselves, that doesn't speak well to the longevity of your wedding.
This song is what happens when you love ABBA and death metal.
So that’s why I love this song so much hah 😅
More like heavy or power metal. No distortion and the riffs/drumming are kinda slow.
I was thinking more like Alice Cooper & Def Leppard.
@@RicoLen1 and Scorpions
@@JimmyVanSinay Yes, like Scorpions, just better. 🤣
Please let this be the sign that 80's style rock is the new turn for the rock side of the music industry!! This is killing everything else nowadays.
There is a revival of 80s goth rock happening. With bands like She Past Away, Lebanon Hanover, Drab Majesty, Night Sins, etc. Check 'em out bro
Rich Niles I was thinking the same thing because Disturbed even went hard rock and also Grand Van fleet sounds like Led Zeppelin
Could have been on the 1st Karate Kid soundtrack, if it wasn't for the lyrics.
I feel Halestorm's new album has a huge 80s vibe to it. Especially like buzz, golden, and now that you're gone! Check em out!
Rich Niles only if it’s metal... and it’s like this.
I want this and "Square Hammer" played at my wedding some day.
What about Life Eternal too?
The Blue Oyster Cult tones are strong with this song. Just when you think Ghost couldn't get any better.......they did!
Markus Allen I don't now anything about the cult and i feel like i can't really appreciate the full greatness of the song. Mind filling me in?
Blue Oyster Cult was notorious for their heavy keyboards mixed with hauntingly beautiful melodies. Check out Joan Crawford and Dancin' In the Ruins for starters and go from there. You will see the similarities.
That`s true and BÖC has marvellous melodies
@@gollummgollumm Search don't fear the reaper & Burnin' for you.
You're spot on; if this came out as a bonus track on Club Ninja I wouldn't blink.
Me dancing to this in my room while corona outbreak.
I sing it on my amp so everyone can hear it. I’ve actually started to nail the vocals
I'm so glad I got to seem them live before the world went to shit lol....
Bro I’m outside dancing with my gf to this song
@@trevorphillips6745 Nice !
You need to be dancing outside with the "virus" to this song during the outbreak. Dont be a sissy.
What I most love about this band is that they make rock like the old school. It's like we're in the 80's! THANK GOD GOOD ROCK IS COMING BACK
Getting early 80's vibes off this, and I dig the hell outta it!!
Very Scorpions kinda sound
Hell yeaarh
When you know where he’s from and the role of his brother it makes sense.
@@infjintegrityvsnarcissism7295They remind me a lot of Scorpions too. 🤘🏻
This sounds like a darker version of a 80's montage song.
This would play in a mid 90s movie where the goth kid tries to get the girl, and this is the song he works out to.
a killer prepping for revenge
just picture this with a top gun montage....I can see it now....
It kind of does I could see it on stranger things or something like that maybe supernatural
Actually this sounds dead on 80's
Been a fan of Ghost since about 2012, i feel Ghost is the most earth stopping, new to the world stage, greatest talent ever, since Nirvana, and the mastermind, the genius, the brilliant mind behind it all is none other than Tobias Forge himself, of himself, and by himself. Rock on Ghost and bring in the new world order of rock and roll.
I need someone to bewitch me in the moonlight.
It'd be a pleasure
You'll find someone. Someone...in the Ghost fandom. I just know it. Patience is a virtue!
I agree with Eric..... it'll come in time.
You wouldn't happen to live in southern NH?
@@andrewjones6295 Minnesota 😅
I love this song. Its like "The Final Countdown" is going through its Emo phase.
No?
One of my favorite songs off this album. GHOST never disappoints me.
Brittany Morgan this is true
Yup
Hell yeah
Brittany Morgan you are very sexy
Of course
"Hey I know this one!"
"What do you mean you know this one? It's brand new"
paxpacis2 I was totally convinced this band was from the 80s the first time I heard this song lol
bttf - i see you're a man of culture as well
Exactly......
When I heard this song, I loved it. Then I kept thinking I know this song..........
so I was watching "staying alive" and BOOM.............i was like "that's it, I knew that song sounded familiar"
Listen to "if I can't have you" by Yvonne Elliman.
There is a riff in it that Ghost has in this song.
This is what happened when i first heard tgheir song "Ghost Hammer""
There are many different songs that speak to you in different ways. Some are only tolerated every once in a while. Others are played a lot, then become overplayed. And then there are those gems that never get old, no matter how many times you listen to it. This song is one of those gems.
I must say that the Solo has to be one of my top 3 of all time. It draws such raw energy . And like others I want this as my Wedding song.
Well it's a song about celebrating the last moments of life before dying. It's called Dance Macabre. It SOUNDS like a romantic song, but the lyrics are completely different.
Listening to ghost is like watching What We Do In The Shadows, not at all what I was expecting going in, but everything I needed
This song is the prime example
Its got an 80's vibe. Excellent.
I LOVE THIS. I'm so happy, heard this on the radio yesterday and was in love. It has that 80s sound but it's NEW. I never thought it would happen.
I’m definitely playing this at my wedding if I ever have one
That moment when you are finishing your happy meal
Im loving it......
*My bro Will first told me about Ghost last summer, and he played me a few of their songs and this one was my FAVOURITE one back then, and it STILL is now! I also love Rats, Square Hammer, Year Zero, Ritual, Stand By Him and Con Clavi Con Dio, too! Those songs are just absolutely AMAZING!! Also, I love the little "bewitch" pun in this song, too! That's really funny!! 😂🎸*
Love these guys.....waaaay reminds me of BLUE OYSTER CULT
logan502 needs more cowbell.!
Omg yes
Now I know why I love them so much!
yes...yes they do
Huh. Well I'll be damned, you're right.
I’ve been at work with this stuck in my head for days. Tapping my foot and bobbing my head. I prolly look like a crazy person.
That opening line, how he ends it with that vibrato, I swear Tobias sounds just like Klaus Meine.
que entrada de guitarra y que remate de bateria, todo un lujo de introduccion,
This what rock should sound! Just discovered this in 2024, great time to be alive!
Definitely has a scorpions vibe, with a youthful and modern touch to it. Love it.
I'm so obsessed with this song! It feels like it'll be their new single
I'm addicted to this song lol
Nothing like finding a new favorite.
I like that the "I wanna bewitch you under the moonlight" also sounds like "I wanna be with you under the moonlight"
I guess rock is going back to the older feel... I'm absolutely thrilled about this.
I'm so happy to see I'm not the onky one that thinks this song came right out of the 80s, which is what makes it so awesome. This style didn't die out, bands just stop using it properly.
Can't stop listening to this song.
They played this at my funeral..
Now im back.
Are you back in black?
Dope
Go back
lmao
Welcome back.
I absolutely love this song! I just cleaned my apartment while dancing to this on repeat. I’ve never had so much fun cleaning
If Scorpions "Big City Lights" and Kiss "Thrill of the Night" had a love child, this would be the song that played during the making. I heard this song a million times before in another life.
Exactly
What a way to work on my knitting and crocheting while listening to Ghost. Awesome
3:17 when he sings “ all night “ …. It jus hits different 🤘
old man: *searches up dance macabre instead of danse macabre also old man: *has heart attack while headbanging*
Right? That's what I thought I was getting myself into. Nope.
Unironically listens to both
This is my favourite song of this decade.
That solo is incredible honestly keep repeating it lol 😂😂😂
You know what's surprising to me. My dad likes this song
Does this bring to anyone else's mind more of a classic or older tune??? I dig it🤘
Totally.
That minor key change at +2:01 gets me every time
Agressively agrees
This song is one of the best songs I heard, I liked the way how they played their guitars in this song.
Can we please give the uploader a break? Be nice. There are quite a few challenges to posting Ghost lyrics:
1 - the frontman is Swedish, and although he's fluent in English, he sometimes says things in a way that sounds a bit weird to a native English speaker
2 - Ghost uses lots of puns, double entendre and other bits of wordplay in order to always maintain that faux demonic gimmick they have going on; in other words, the lyrics are often INTENDED to sound ambiguous and have the listener questioning if the "correct words" are innocent or something more sinister
Mñ
Your absolutely right
Thanks mac!
Tobis speaks perfect English.
You mean, this "I wanna bewitch you" is not due to an error ? Can't be NEVER, this HAS to be a mistake, cause it doesn't even make sense, does it ? Hmm, wait ............ it does, at least to people, than know more than a litte six-grade englisch .... and especially, since the singer even gets the accentuation right.
This song stuck in my head and I know it's for long.
Me to
Not a huge Ghost fan but I do love this song
I imagine this song on vinyl is something magical!!
sounds about the same, i have it, why would you think it would sound magical?
I'm seeing these guys for the fourth time, 11 days from now, November 17th in Vegas, VIP, it's gonna be epic!
Just saw them live last week they put on a hell of a show it was amazing. Can’t wait to see them again
This should have been on the 2019 grammys. Emotional and deep. Heard this on 96.5 fm Cincinnati radio. I am hooked on the ghost. Keep the great tunes coming. Wow that guitar solo ! Listening in Indianapolis indiana U.S.A
this song is very addictive
I have become such a fan in the 3 years I have been listening to Ghost! Impressed over and over! You never let me down with your mystical lirics and driving bass and guitar riffs. When I listen to it while driving prone to speeding! Lol
It sounds like the theme song to an 80’s sit/drama...
Just heard it at Radio Bob and though it's an Earworm to me, well done
So I'm getting an 80's tech disco vibe, and I like it.
Not quite...more like 80s heavy metal...
Best band I heard in 20 years finnaky I don't have to listen to just classic rock
Happens the same to me, AMAZING BAND, AMAZING MUSIC, AMAZING LYRICS and not the same old stuff!
Sounds so 80's and 90's retro. F Great! 🤗
OMG just love this epic....heard for the first time today cannot stop playing it.......ROCK ON !!!!
Its keeps on giving me chills
I do not get this melody out of my head anymore. That is fuxxing great stuff. Thanks Tobias !!!
Favorite album so far
Since this came out i have to listen to this at least three times a day
Love this song what a great singer!
Okay this solo is absolutely killer! Finally got it down and gives me chills every time !

One of my favorite guitar riffs of all time right here.
Every now and then a band come along that makes stop and listen. Fantastic band totally hooked.
Goosebumps all down my body!! This song hits my soul
Great! My favorit song of this album. lml .
Little bit of a scorpions sound. Love it. Bring back that shit. Nice ghost.
Kevin Tyler what scorpion's song excatly?
@@nightsede7142 the vocals especially near the start are nearly identical in sound and some of the guitar riff has a Scorpions vibe, the solo is very blue Oyster cult, neither are complaints, it's awesome
Why does this song go so hard?! Love that 80's vibe...
By far my favorite song off Prequele!
This song is my alarm in the morning. xD It's such a great way to start the day.
I am addicted to this band , oh my god !
The new Album is a Hitmonster ....awesome !!!
it sounds so 80s... Love it !
This music is amazing, utterly amazing
This song proved Ghost really is the Bon Jovi of death metal.
this song gives me chills, and im lovin it
I LOVE this song!!
Oh this has a Great 80's feel to it love it keep up the good work guys

MASSIVE HIT!
I played this around my mom and now she loves it THANK YOU TOBIAS😄
I love this track☺️
I dig this song! It definitely got that eighties vibe going on and the guitar solo is perfectly written to suit that vibe!
Love these guys
Great song!!👏👏👏
