What a treat to hear him discuss this amazing musical! Wish I could see it. Can't wait for the cast recording.

I can't believe it's closing. This score is so breathtaking, and with O'Hara and Pasquale at the helm? Craziness. If Brown doesn't win the Tonys for score and orchestrations, it'll be a travesty. Also, you can't tell me that Bring It On is Best Musical nominee material, but this show isn't. Absolute madness.

for when I inevitably want to refer back
    0:00 it all fades away
4:44 kind of chat about it all fades away but also other stuff
7:13 cello opening in case I want to play that
    7:41 to build a home
    9:52 wondering
    11:42 another life
14:27 one second and a million miles
    17:42 when I'm gone

This show should not be closing. This show should have run for years to come, not a few months. I'm so angry. This is a traviata that deserves recognition. The cast, book, production but most of all the score.

Each song a gem, the music magnificent. I listen to the CD on every long car trip; can’t get enough of it. Wish the musical comes back. This music is a gift. Thank you JRB.

And he sings pretty beautifully too. I heard him say in an interview that he thinks he sounds better than he actually does. Thus, I expected him to sound alright, not great. But this is nothing like my expectation.
      Mr. JRB, you are brilliant!!!

There is one thing that's eternal... that cannot be torn apart... it's the regret I didn't see this every single day I was in NYC, rather than just the once! God I love this show. Taking mega notes as I'm always chipping away at the enigma that is the composition for musical theatre.

I absolutely love this score and I wish the show lasted longer than it did. Both Kelli O'Hara and Steven Pasquale were amazing and this show deserved so much more.

If you're going to steal, steal from the best, he says. You ARE the best, JRB. I have never been so astounded as these last four months since I discovered '13', then '5 Years' and then 'Bridges.' The world is wearing blinders, but it is eventually going to open its eyes.

I just saw this play on tour in Media PA.......I went 5 times! Just amazing this score. Also happened to be stellar performances. I cannot fathom this show did not do well on Broadway. How is that possible? Beyond excellent it is.

I think this man is a musical genius. His music has haunted me for years. I think if I met him in real life he would be on a different plane like a wizard. Such a different mind.

Such an underrated musical. They squeezed so much out of this insufferable book.

JRB is extraordinarily gifted. I first heard his work in The Last Five Years in 2014 at the Minetta. I was hooked. Parade leaves me speechless each time I’ve seen or listened to it. He has a something that reminds me of The incomparable Stephen Sondheim.

Ew.....sacrilege! ALW and JRB are nowhere near the same level. JRB is a genius. ALW is...not.
JRB does his own music, lyrics, AND orchestrations. His music is intelligent and complex. His lyrics are clever, deep, thought and emotion provoking. None of that can be said about Webber.
A more accurate statement would be "I have not heard a score so fantastic since Sondheim."

Most of that is true about Webber...but Phantom is insanely complex and powerful...very deep. If you listen to the whole thing. Even songs like All I ask of you are deeply lush unexpected chords. Phantom and Evita are masterpieces you can put up there with any other musical ever. Parts of Sunset Boulevard. Parts of Superstar...parts of Cats are good...
