Great win by Osaka and great sportsmanship from Andreescu. Two fantastic athletes!
Naomi's counter punching is so underrated. She covers court so fast and makes other players play extra balls and replies with her natural power like the point at 1:35:00 and stole the point here. Her power game combination with counter punching is the reason she has won 2 slams...
When she's on her game, she's the best player in tennis right now. Unfortunately, she's fairly inconsistent, which is why she's isn't the world number 1.

1) She beat the world no.1 and a two time former Grand Slam Champion on her way to the Australian Open title
2)She beat Serena Williams in straight sets which is quite impressive seeing that even top ten players like Kvitova and Ivanovic struggled to do that regularly
3) She made a second Grand Slam final at the French Open including a quality win over Kvitová
So why on earth would Kenin not being on this list of the rising next gen

I thought this match would be the de facto final at the time. Andreescu, who won the US Open this year, was in fact a really strong and heated battle. I would like to pay tribute to Naomi who won this.

Hahaha, somebody brought Serena's name here. She's not inspiring anymore with all the drama she brought in tennis. Very amateur behavior as of late instead of acting like a true champion. I wish these two incredible women won't shove a tennis ball down someone's throat. Serena should hang out with Tiger Woods more. Because they are both a disgrace.

@TeeKooo Both Naomi and Andreescu have beaten Serena twice already and they will continue beating her in the future. They both are still young and will become even better and stronger than they are now over time while Serena is not getting any younger

I can barely see the ball with 720p. UA-cam dropping the definition because of COVID-19 can be felt here.

Andreescu knew this is going to be a generational rivalry. I like both of em and loved the way Bianca had open arms for her opponent. She probably knows they will meet each other alot of times, deep into a lot of tournaments. Very different personality types though.

First point, second set: late in the rally, the Osaka backhand at 59:58, UTL 1.8m inside the sideline bosses the point for her, but the stupid high angle doesn't show the pace-it's a SCREAMER.
That's the first shot that Bianca has to squash shot back, and YKW wins the point.
This may one of my Top Five Opening Points after a Set EVER.
I'm an Osaka fan, but I like Bianca too. She's a much better person than some other Canadian players I could mention.

Nice match by both. It always seems Bianca's playing hurt. The interviewer at the post match was very good, animated and asked pertinent and conducive inquiries.
I dream big. Bianca and Naomi will meet in the 2024 U.S. Open final in 2024. I won’t predict who the winner will be. One out of two ain’t bad.
Anybody else notice Andreescu sniffing Vicks and coughing while she was talking to her coach? Look at the date... I know it's not in Wuhan, but do you think maybe something could have been going on at one of the airports she flew through?
The extent of the Chinese cover-up of the early outbreak has fallen off the news radar now, but somebody should have assessed players at this event for covid antibodies months ago. We got a lot of press about NBA players who were infected ... but nobody asked much about tennis players ... and whether it correlated with their travel schedules, or their on-court activites. (Just like nobody bothered to take a hard look if the NBA cases were due to on-court proximity, or the lifestyle partying / entourage / social activities of the NBA players).
That said, Osaka played a gritty match, and this is a great study about how as a player to remain tough and don't get unhinged when things start off bad.
This will be the next big rivalry in women's tennis as far as I'm concerned
THIS IS AN IMPORTANT SUGGESTION TO WTA. In the same manner that movies or videos of major spectacles start with a title and a list of the key characters and credits, it would be an improvement for those WTA videos of full matches to provide, as a matter of course, the names of the commentators and the name of the referee. And, if they appear often enough during game breaks, the names of both players' coaches. It looks like a lot to ask for, but once you get into the habit of dressing up the presentation, you'll find it automatic and natural, even wondering why it has not been done before.. Completing thus the presentation of the video will improve its professional packaging for all of us, loyal fans and spectators.

Naomi strikes the ball with so much confidence like serena! The only difference between her and Serena is the second serve (which can let Naomi down at key moments sometimes) and I would love it if Naomi varied the spin more on her serve as well. She's got some major weapons thought

It'd be nice to know the names of both commentators. Anybody knows them? Also, in Bianca's corner, on the front row, there are three additional people to the left of Sylvain Bruneau, including two more male members of her support group plus that lady who wears glasses? They appear faithfully in most of Bianca's matches. They all travelled to Beijing to follow and watch Bianca's games. Any chance to know their names? Is this lady a manager, or perhaps the current fitness trainer replacing the adorable younger one, Virginia Tremblay, we used to see clapping ecstatically for Bianca in all matches earlier in 2019? Anybody knows this lady?

Bianca's team is normally from Tennis Canada including Tremblay so sometimes she works with other players as a trainer - I think TC gave Sylvain to train her full-time now: Lady is Physio Kirstin Bauer, one man Agent Jonathan Dasnières

As for the match... well I expected more considering who players are. But i was happy for Naomi , who's usually inconsistent. Naomi is a good kid and proves - "still waters run deep."

Do not hope for another Serena in Naomi. That will never be. Serena had a very different life, she did not grow up priviledged like these new crop of tennis players. Serena and Venus fought for everything they achieved against staggering odds. Just let these new tennis players TRY to reach that level and cheer them on without the comparison, THERE IS NONE!!!
