The literary underpinnings of DMC are surprisingly clever for a goofy game that started as the RE4 devs discovering the engine they'd built let you juggle monsters with bullets and going 'that's stupid and really cool, let's run with it'.

The fact that I could listen to it all day long causes it to become a love/hate relationship for me On the one hand, I'm weird, and don't like the idea of listening to one song all day (though I have had multiple great songs, 2 were by Bon Jovi, forever ruined for me because younger siblings played them all day, to the point where I was burnt out on them half way through the first day, but the did it again for another 2 in a row.... Needless to say, I don't want that happening again) But on the other hand, yes, it is that good, and I want to listen to it again for the 27th time today...

Question for Good old Gav. Did you intentionally make the verse for each character have different musical cues? For instance, Nero's verse is very "subdued" and more punkish before growing to the classing rockin' chorus which fits his journey through the game. V's verse is even more subdued reflecting how he is mostly just a "normal" guy with some magical tricks before crashing into the verse showing how short his life will be? And then there's Dante who starts loud and rocking, goes to quiet and pretty much vocal only before blasting back to a great mix. Symbolism for his human/devil halves with devil being rocking and human being vocals? Or am I just hallucinating and making connections that don't exist because I'm overdosing on awesome? Either way, Gavin, YOU FUCKING ROCK!

Changed things up just enough to notice, but not so much that it’s jarring and breaks up the flow of the overall song. Very nice. I dig how V’s section is more ‘subdued’ like you said, sort of like an interlude more reminiscent of Gav’s typical style. But it all still blends together seamlessly, doesn’t sound like 3 different mini-songs mashed together. Perfect balance. Well done, indeed. SSS. Jackpot. Miscellaneous DMC references.
As a big fan of Devil May Cry, I always identified the saga with very heavy metal. But I don't know why, this song works for me. It is a little lighter than what I thought it would be but it works all the way ! Love your work ! Your style just fits in like a glove ! Keep it going ! Smokin Sexy Style ! :D

Devils Never Cry, Out of My Way, Shall Never Surrender and god the DMC franchise has so much good music. Devil Trigger is fantastic as well and absolutely carries the spirit of these songs with it though.

He's the very embodiment of calmness and confidence by the looks of it in the DMC series, much like how it seems that Sparda was the embodiment of love and sacrifice, Nero is the embodiment of determination and protection, V was the embodiment of burden and wisdom, while Vergil is the embodiment of power and greed.

First off, absolutely amazing as usual. Not only the song, which has an amazing energy and rhythm and is going on my playlist for cleaning the house... but the video editing is also absolutely wonderful, fitting the frantic beat and actually making me sort of INTERESTED in this game. Seriously, game companies need to start hiring Gav to make these so they can use them as advertising copy.
On a completely different note, is it me, or are they making Dante look more and more like a young Jeff Bridges?
