Got a question for you Sixx, if you see this. I’m curious what your preferred settings re difficulty and game progression are when you’re not recording a beginners guide. Do you prefer the loner faction or one of the others?
For context I’m around 30 minutes into the game but I’ve played each of the three official games a couple of times each. Anomaly is a whole new game but set in a world I’m so familiar with.

@@Luke-yh1lg Thanks for the feedback dude!! When I'm not recording this series, I play on Hard/Survivalist since it provides the most challenge and most rewarding experience in my opinion. I usually play Loners, Bandits, and Ecologists (I've beaten the story mode a few times with Loners and once with Ecologists). I've tried all factions including Monolith, but those 3 are the ones that I use the most. However, I've been meaning to give Mercs a go, they seem like a cool faction to try to beat the game with :D.
A lot of people prefer Duty since they are in the center of the zone, all types of traders are at the main base, and they give a nice amount of side quests to gear up.
The day/night cycle in this game is a thing of beauty. I love that the night time is properly dark, unlike most games where it just looks like a bluish filter
Oh yeah, that's one thing the X-Ray engine does very very well!
You can actually change this in the settings in Anomaly. By default it's pretty bright while vanilla had it pitch black.
the best loot on low-level bandits and the like usually is their cloth masks (which you always seem to leave). While they do not have any monetary value, they are amazing repair items with very low weight. They augment glue, sewing kits and gun oils significantly. Using patches on the other hand is quite silly. For one, the 1% bonus isn't worth talking about (plus 2 or 3% with the corresponding archievement). Additionally, those patches are used as quest items (for easy money and faction renown), and in early game have some monetary value.
And if you want to show of crafting Sixx, you need to start disassembling. Mostly any kind of higher tech suit. it doesnt really matter how shitty the condition of parts inside is, as long as you get them. You might already know how to make a better backpack (you seem to carry unread receipts).
Also: investing into a base-model AK-74N is like investing in a used Lada.
From last episode: Tool-kits do spawn in the open, there are special spawn points for them and other high level loot (there is a probability mechanic in which spawn stuff). That said, the easiest way to attain toolkits is by purple stashes, which you can get by reading other Stalkers PDAs or as quest revards. Purple stashes have one of the five toolkits guaranteed.
I was in a firefight with an unknown number of bandits. Everything got quiet and maybe they were all dead, but I was not sure, so I waited and waited and waited. I was crouching right next to a dead bandit, so it was tempting to loot it. I resisted. I waited for about 3 minutes real time and nothing was moving, so I figured it was safe. The instant I started looting the corpse next to me, a bandit pops out from behind a wall and kills me.
Corpse looting algorithm confirmed.
Happens every time!! That's why I'm soooo freaking paranoid :D
Yea it happens in vanilla too. Just open/close the loot and look around.

Yeah I'm trying to see if I can completely turn that shitty grass off. Not the pre-defined grass like the glades in the swamps and bushes, but that shitty grass that looks weird when it's on the lowest setting lol

Really glad I found this channel! The best guide / tutorial for Anomaly beginners! I tried the game 2 years ago but gave up as it seemed too complicated. After having read some reviews I have recently reinstalled the 1.5.1 version, and thanks to your videos I finally find back the fun that I had with the original STALKER games (yes, I'm that old.....), so big thanks to you, and keep these videos coming, because I learn a lot from every episode, and they are fantastic entertainment!

You should give HD Models add-on a try, it replaces the character models with really nicely modeled ones with the only slight downside (at least for me) being that some stalkers look like bandits and some ecologists look like mercs.
Yeah I've used the HD model in the past. I haven't tried it recently but I remember it caused massive load times and it would confuse you with some factions as you mentioned. I might give it another go though just out of curiosity ;)

When it comes to cool addons Basic_Icons on moddb is very cool. It adds small icons indicating what effects the item has on the inventory icon as well as bullets calibre in text on the icon. So it's way easier to differentiate different pills and ammunition types especially if you don't have their looks memorized yet. It's so good I'm astonished that it's not a part of vanilla.

@@SixxsBunker Damn, that Blindsides Reanimation Pack is pretty cool with adding custom unjamming animations replacing the normal reload. Even though they aren't as cool as Far Cry 2s and guns cannot explode in your face if they're in really shitty condition. xD

Sir sixx in this episode video the picture quality was a bit off but the Content you showed us was AMAZING, I learnt what morphine can do now, as if you inject it before a fire fight it helps stop the bleeding effect and that's a life saver. Yeah there are a couple of videos around this number of episodes that are kinda meh quality, but that's because I used a reshade which screws up the processing. I've switched it off from now on, so it should be better. Thanks again for the comment!

Most of the stuff you'll need can be found in stashes, I wasted alot of money at first buying things that I later found...

I only recently started playing this game and was really impressed with the AI. I'm really hoping that the modders can turn it into an up to 4 player coop with difficulty scaling depending on number of players. I know that's a huge task but I enjoy the game so much single player and I imagine how insane it would be coop.
Yeah the AI in Stalker is great for combat. Companion AI is a bit shitty tho lol. I don't thin co-op will be made for Anomaly since they would have to change the whole engine code.

Hey! and welcome to stalker! Unfortunately, I stopped using around half of those mods and they haven't been updated. I'm using a newer list that you can see in my last couple of videos. I don't have the links (using 28 mods lol) unfortunately but typing the mod names in google will pretty much direct you to them. That's how I find them from other mod lists anyways. I'm about halfway through my first vanilla playthrough, got the game mechanics down (it's deep), think I'll be ready to start adding some add-ons for my second run. This mod is AMAZING, really doesn't need much. I'll probably add sound overhauls, HD models, needs animations, trader overhaul and maybe just a few others. It's pretty good right out of the box.
Yup, the addons just enhance the experience of an already great game. There are literally hundreds of addons to choose from. Glad to hear you're enjoying it!

@@NEUWRIGHT Yup, playing 1.5.1. The mods I'm using are updated and working for this. Before you download an addon, check the description of it as it should mention for which version of Anomaly it's for. The majority of the addons are updated for this version I believe, but check just in case ;)

Just one thing about the dynamic anomalies: I've noticed that anomalies in the predefined anomaly locations (the ones you find artifacts in) don't ever change.
Also if you want to save your knife, you can destroy the metal boxes by running into them, jumping onto them or picking them up and droppiing them.
And tearing patches from armours does not give you a patch.

I think destroying boxes and using the knife as a weapon doesn't degrade it, just skinning animals does, at least from what I've tested, but I might be wrong.

AFAIK AI has some basic sense of hearing which might explain why they always attack when you're looting
Hmmm makes sense.. could be also tuned into that "Stealth" system that 1.5.1 comes with. But yeah, it tends to happen A LOT :P
hello, I just started playing the mod anomaly, these videos are helping me a lot, even if I know the dynamics of the game ,i having already played the first and third game of the series, I love this game, can I ask you what mod did you use to give the 'blur effect, I tried using resahder together with the PROSPERITY presets but I can't have the same effect as you, and then how do you get this color correction so yellow, with the presets of P.R.O.S.P.E.R.I.T.Y. the game turns almost all blue, could you share your reshader settings ,thanks again :)
Thank you for watching!! I actually used the PROSPERITY reshade for this video (I later took it out because it made the video quality worse). The reason why it might look different from yours is because I tweaked the effect settings, through trial and error. Don't be afraid to enable/disable effects to achieve your desired reshade :)

I think all you need now is Boom sticks and sharp sticks mod and the HD Models abd your game mod list would be complete and game footage would look amazing. Just a friendly question you think in the next video you could actually provide links that take you directly to the modDB page?. I do this all my phone because I have no Internet so I download everything Off of it. you can't really copy and paste from the UA-cam app to your phone browser. It's just a lot easier and convenient if you have working links.

AFAIK in Yantar there's a guy that'll give you Beril for some vodka.
Yup, I can now confirm that. You need 20 uses of Nemiroff Vodka so 6 full bottles and 1 with 2 uses. I went all the way through Wild Territories with starting Jacket, PM and SVT-40 only to find out I had 6 full bottles and 1 with one use. -.- Also remember to tear off military patch before you get into any unwanted trouble.

I normally use semi-auto with assault weapons, especially when they have a scope. I feel I have more control over the weapon when it's semi-auto than auto. But that's just my preference, others just leave it on auto the whole time.

@Dagobarre Hmmm ok, I'll try to figure it out in future episodes and try to replicate what you guys are going through. Yeah too much loot (especially the hoarding repair/crafting stuff) can take a toll. You can also get larger backpacks, as well as armor that has more weight capability. I'll try to go over it in a future video for you guys.
@Dagobarre create a stash with a backpack, or use any of the metal containers found in game, NPC will not loot your stuff and you can save things you think you might need in the future to keep your inventory light. I travel really light with just a ration, water bottle, weapons and ammo, and few first aid packs with some bandages.
@Dagobarre also it's helpful to figure out what area you will be operating in and keep your stash there. For example alot of the early game I'm based out of the Duty base, there's vendors, a medic, a technician and it's somewhat central for the lower part of the map where you'll spend alot of time.

Oh yeah, there are a ton of addons for this game... It's all about trying them out and sticking to the ones you like ;)

@@TheShmrsh Some mods are still good for 1.5.1, even though they say they're from the previous version. You just have to try them out, or people will also state it in the comments section of the mod page.
@@SixxsBunker also do you know how to unlock big blue stash, i tried to shoot it and blew it, kicking it with knife - nothing happens? And i stuck at story - i gave to strelok needed documents form x-8 and then no new tasks appears

Some of these are. Usually, if a mod is compatible they will mention it has a BaS compatibility patch on the moddb page.

how can i open reshade?
Unfortunately it doesn't come with the game. You have to download it separately and then either use a pre-established profile from Anomaly moddb, or create your own by playing around with the settings. reshade.me/ I was using the PROSPERITY reshade from moddb, with tweaked settings.
I think it looked better before the add-ons. Without grass it looks too empty and there's a weird bloom or something overall.

Cinema vfx looks cool however it kinda ruins the game for me. The challenge of navigating around anomalies is removed

Those FPS come with the rehsade app that I used for a couple of episodes.
@@SixxsBunker Cool. Loving the series. I'm new to Stalker in general but played lots of Fallout 4 and wanted a more realistic survival experience after hundreds of hours. I wasn't into multiplayer games like Takov though. This is the best I've found so far.
This is going to sound picky, or perhaps harshly critical, but you should know, I DO enjoy these a great deal and appreciate the work you put into the series.
You really should work on improving your vocabulary or at least your ability to articulate thoughts. I know you're multitasking; trying to play and commentate simultaneously, however, the amount of time spent trying to get a point across is beyond frustrating to listen to at times. You use 'uh' and 'umm' and 'like' as filler words an absurd amount.
Some advice to improve: simple notes with points you'd like to cover in front of you
Explain things you know you'll cover in the video, out loud, to yourself until you've got it down sufficiently
Read :) read a lot, something you enjoy. Just a little each day will improve your spoken vocabulary and ability to articulate thoughts more than you could possibly imagine.
Constructive criticism is always welcome here. Anything that can help me create better videos and content is always well received. Yeah sometimes I get nervous when I hit the record button and struggle to figure out what I'm going to say next in some parts. It's definitely not the same as streaming lol. I really appreciate that you took the time to provide detailed feedback and I will do my best.
