We really liked my mum’s 1995 200 1.4 8v 5 door in silver with the greeny Paisley interior… I found some of those nice 15” alloys for it. The 120hp 1.8 in my dad’s 2005 75 was fine for the car if you don’t mind letting the K Series rev…..
I still have a 50k mile 97 220SD, been off the road for around 17 years, was my Dad's car and was parked up due to his ill health, paid someone to store it and forgot about it for years, sadly it got broken into and has been neglected but other than the injectors missing it's pretty complete, it could go fir scrap money to someone who will use it for parts, but I won't let it go to someone who will just weigh it in, the car is near Welshpool on the shropshire border if anyone wants it🎁
I had a 3 year old 218 is when I was 20, rapid car!, going from a year older 1.4 16v corsa sport to the rover was like night and day, beautiful car in it's day and a far better finished car than the 25/ZR
The performance figures were very conservative, I've had a staggering amount of cars in the last 30 years and of all the bubble Shape 200/25/ZR's I've had my flame red 3 door iS was my favourite, I've had VVC cars but oddly found them no quicker. about 3 years ago I briefly had an 05 ZR 120 and found it really disappointing, not just in comparison to newer cars but comparing it on familiar roads to what my 218 could do. I replaced the Rover with an mb6 5 door Civic VTi(the best rover 400 ever!) when I was 22 and onto a 6 year Old Accord Type R(which I've still got tucked away) when I was 24. I've been around the motor trade since I was 13 and have owned /driven the full spectrum from £150 bangers to 6 figure supercars, and I've still got love for these 90's Rover's 😁
Drove the 214SI 16v for about 100 miles. One of the noisiest cars I have ever driven. Glad to see the back of it !!
Enjoyed it thanks. I just watched allegroman with the rover 75 on Nigel.
@@JC-hu1wd thank you! That’s a very well sorted car as well

@ sounds like a great selection you’ve had there. I did really enjoy driving this 218.
2:39 You can buy replacement door cards for the 3 door. Someone I'd making them.
@@SmashingPistons oh nice! Do you know where you can get them? I can pass on to Allegroman
