  • A thriving honey bee colony can consume a lot of sugar water in a short period of time. Ray takes a moment to discuss this very interesting topic.

This last week. With a light hive one hive ate a half gallon in 6 days. As for the flow... we already had a large flow this year. Then a cold snap stalled it. Now we have a solid wild flower flow. Cabbage palm and palmetto are blooming from Melbourne to Brooksville. This has been our best spring in 3 years with no drought this year. Our cold snap of 36 stopped most of tue flow cold. Had a lot of issues with a hearty hive amd suddenly no food. We had loads of pollen 6 weeks ago. Anything south of Orlando will have a flow all winter of some kind. Only in July through September are we totally devoid of bee food. Tampa already has palmetto honey from this year available.

This sounds expensive one pound a day?
