Great reaction!!! The show Singer 2017 was recorded in late 2016, when Dimash was 22 years old. He was the youngest contestant ever on this show. Singer is a contest where the best Chinese singers compete against each other. Dimash, from Kazakhstan, was a wildcard entree, and none of the contestants and audience had heard of him. SOS was the performance that won the hearts of the audience, and the respect of the contestants. SOS is a French song. The next song from Dimash is Opera 2, a Russian song (not really opera), and the next is Adagio, in English. He also sings in Kazakh, Mandarin, Italian, and even alien in Singer 2017. This was his first performance on Singer2017 (China). It's not 'like' opera- it is opera. He chose to go the more popular route rather than join an opera company. He was 22 here. He does make operatic appearances. When this hit UA-cam he became a world superstar.

Emily, thank you for this reaction to MY LOVE Dimash. He was offered a position by an opera company that he turned down because he wants to do his music which includes all kinds of genres and styles. He has a vocal range of 6 octaves, plays 7 instruments and sings in 12 languages. This Chinese competition was for professionals & they invited unknown Dimash as a wildcard & were shocked by this episode 1 performance. There were limited spaces each week but Dimash sang in 13 of 14 episodes 5 in English. For stories & performance with subtitles use videos from channel Gloria Wu. Be sure to use from her channel for Autumn Strong & Daybreak. As a female I guarantee that like me after seeing story & words for both songs you won't be able to stop crying. 🎶👱♀️😀💕
The music genre he sings most in is called "popera" and that is of course a mix of pop and opera. Dimash told his range is over 6 octaves but also that it's about the songs so don't focus on his insane range. I did count that he plays at least 8 instruments. Dimash can also dance and he is a songwriter. To be able to sing he does also sport. Now that is swimming. Dimash likes football and for a singer he is not bad with a ball.

My heartfelt gratitude to the reactors worldwide for your great help and service, so that artists can improve and or develop their talents and gifts at their best in order to serve better the listening public. I still browse the music videos of Dimash from time to time to see what still store in there. I’m just wondering how much effort and strength Dimash had invested into it and to reach such a powerful voice and the many other talents that he had. Indeed it is really a great work. How he was able to develop such a heights of his talents is really admirable and worth learning. And it is much more beautiful because he sang it by heart, naturally and at his heart’s content with joyful disposition. The discipline, dedication and high ideals in pursuing his singing career to the best of his ability the best he can is worth imitating not only in our individual professional fields but also in living our day to day life. Hope his listeners around the world especially the young will learn something from his optimistic views in pursuing his career, his persistency, creativity and perseverance. His labors and hard work are now indeed bearing fruits in abundance. And so my heartfelt congratulations to Dimash and to his family and all others who supported him all the way through as a musician. For me as a listener it counts a lot the personal disposition of the artist and the content of its music. The power and beauty of his voice is so incredible even at his lowest and highest notes. My other concern whenever I listen to music is that, I usually ask: WHAT MESSAGE THIS MUSIC BRINGS ..? TO THE WORLD..? TO PEOPLE..? Although Dimash music are very good, full of content and meaning but I like most this music, because for me it speaks a message of truth, values and realities of human life. I feel that, it is not just enough to give my thumbs up to like this music, but I’m deeply moved to share something more about the richness and deeper meaning of it. With due respect to the composers, writers and singers of these music for whatever their purpose and intention would be, will always take precedence. The thoughts that I will be sharing below about these music is only the fruits of my personal reflections based on the things that I highly valued and on how I perceived it myself and the message of this song that reaches out to me. Song of Dimash in French “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” (Ester Rabi’s Commentary & Reflection on this song: I like this music because it reminds me the Truth, Realities and Precariousness of Human Life particularly Suffering and Death) STORY BEHIND THE SONG: Credit to Daniel Balavoine the original artist of this song who had a sudden death in a helicopter accident in 1986. Later, it was covered by Gregory Lemarchal, a young French singer who inspired Dimash to sing “SOS d'un terrien en detresse” who at all odds won the 4th series Reality TV Program Star Academy, despite his failing health and became an overnight success in France but had a shorter career, for he died young with his unusual illness of Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 at the age of 23. Recently it was unbelievably covered by Dimash and from time to time Dimash sung it in memory of his great friend Denis Ten an Olympic figure skater from Kazakhstan who was stabbed after a dispute with people who allegedly tried to steal a mirror from his car in his home city of Almaty. He died of massive blood loss from multiple wounds at the age of 25 in 2018. That is why this song is sad mention in some of the lyrics…A soul’s plea for help or an earthly being in distress. . Suffering and death is one of the realities of human life. It is important that we should know the basic truth about it, so that it will not cause us fear and distress in our human life’s , but rather to remind us all of our ultimate destiny as people of faith. For me, there are 3 kinds of suffering we experienced in life: 1st suffering that God allows, 2nd suffering which is the results of our own choices and decisions and 3rd is the suffering which is cause by other people to us. In whatever forms of suffering we are experiencing, know that, if it is discern well it will gain us eternal merit. Note that it is not important how much and how long we suffer, or who cause us to suffer, but how is our attitude towards it when it comes into our life…? All of these three can be an opportunity or a means of grace that we will grow in virtue, when we accept it with great humility and discernment. Our usual human tendency is, if we can, we try to avoid any pain and suffering in our life. However we can’t deny also that life is mixed up of many learning experiences both in joys and in difficulties and I supposed we need it both, because it contributes and helps us mature and grow in many aspects of life. Suffering and death may seem contrary to our own human thinking or world’s way of thinking but in it, there’s a certain wisdom which is richer and deeper that no one can fully understand. Suffering reminds us the real fact that we are all fragile human beings; that we are limited and we are not God. Sufferings are human reality and consequences of sin that affects us all. It helps us see the real worth and value of things and meaning in life. Likewise, if we are open to grace it helps us become vulnerable, sensitive and compassionate to others. It sharpens our awareness that this earth is not our permanent and true home. We should remember that we are only strangers and pilgrims on this earth” St. Paul reminded us that “the sufferings of this present time are nothing to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us later. Suffering purifies and refines us of any life’s superficiality into an authentic one. Though no one really is actively searching for suffering in his / her life, but honestly truth compels us to admit that sufferings do have a great value in our life and by experiencing it personally in reality, you will never be the same person. The hope of heaven gives us joy even in the sufferings of this life. In God’s plan, human beings were created for holiness and eternal life with him. But through the original sin that enters into human lives, our nature has been wounded, and we experience suffering and death. This was not part of God’s original plan, but it is part of the reality of our human lives now. Death for us is a frightening mystery because we are being stripped off of all our attachments to this world; our body lies corrupt; our immortal soul goes to meet the Lord. We will see the whole truth of our lives, and we will face God’s judgment. Death creates in us a feelings and emotion of fear, separation, sadness and pain. Many times we evade this reality and we try to question and argue with God why…? But all our efforts failed because whether we like it or not at the end, we all die. Death comes in our life anytime anywhere. No material things, good health, young age can guarantee of its extension. If this life were the only one we had, death would definitely be the great tragedy. But In God’s plan, however, death is not the end of everything, but the border that enables every human being to enter the endless place of eternity. For all those who have done their best to respond to God’s grace, to die is to cross from an imperfect type of existence into a new and fuller life lived in God’s presence. Often we feel the greatest misfortunes, when death struck in a person, depriving him or her greatest treasures a person can possess which is life itself. Death is such a peaceful event in our life if we die in the state of grace, meaning if we died reconciled with God and at peace with others. Death is the end of our earthly life. Our lives are measured by time, as with all other living beings on earth. Since it is unknown to all of us the time of our death, therefore, it is best that we should prepare at all times, otherwise we are being caught by surprise of not being ready when God comes to take us to be with Him forever in our eternal home in bliss. As well as the channel Gloria Wu for stories & performances with subtitles for Singer 2017 you can look up Singer 2017 episode 1 through episode 14 except 11 as that was the only 1 he wasn't in. Also just type Dimash to get lists of his songs & other than channel Gloria Wu there are 2 other channels with videos with stories & subtitles. @@missemmy246 read it all till the end pls ( i wrote it 1&half hour))...SO- i bet 100$ that after ep 6 "Adagio" (ep 5 just skip- cause it was an experiment from creators give him a non vocal pop song- Uptown Funk) so ye it was funny but nothing incredible....other songs he choosed by himself)- you will become totally a Dear- thats how he calls his fans))- and that was just the begining- he has some performances from last year and especially this 2019- that show us how he grew up vocally and he became a beast not in terms of vocals-that he already was- but his presence on stage is phenomenal- he staying in one place,or sitting give you so much emotions that people cry in the audience!Other singers could cry on stage but you will feel this fake tears- but with him practically all his best performances are goosebumps and maney, especially woman cry, when he sings about love- cause the lyrics of his russian and chinese songs are very deep and he lives them on stage- he put songs through his body literally! (sorry for mistakes and my bad english , i am not from english speaking country- only what i learned in school). But be aware that many songs from original channels doesnt have subs- but the song has a storu behind it, so there are some DEARS here that made translations to his non english songs (not all) and one woman Gloria Wu even did researches on his chinese songs on this show and put it on his channel- so some songs you got to watch there to understand whe Chinese audience when he sang 2 songs- cryied...there are sad stories behind making and texts of those songs so after you Finish reactions read your comments i will write wich songs and where to watch them with subs at least so you can understand it!... Singer is a contest where the best Chinese singers compete against each other. Dimash, from Kazakhstan, was a wildcard entree, and none of the contestants and audience had heard of him. SOS was the performance that won the hearts of the audience, and the respect of the contestants. SOS is a French song. This was his first performance on Singer2017 (China). It's not 'like' opera- it is opera. He chose to go the more popular route rather than join an opera company. He was 22 here. He does make operatic appearances. When this hit UA-cam he became a world superstar.

Emily, thank you for this reaction to MY LOVE Dimash. He was offered a position by an opera company that he turned down because he wants to do his music which includes all kinds of genres and styles. He has a vocal range of 6 octaves, plays 7 instruments and sings in 12 languages. This Chinese competition was for professionals & they invited unknown Dimash as a wildcard & were shocked by this episode 1 performance. There were limited spaces each week but Dimash sang in 13 of 14 episodes 5 in English. For stories & performance with subtitles use videos from channel Gloria Wu. Be sure to use from her channel for Autumn Strong & Daybreak. As a female I guarantee that like me after seeing story & words for both songs you won't be able to stop crying. 🎶👱♀️😀💕
"Autumn Strong" and "Daybreak" are so profoundly emotional, speaking directly to the souls of millions of people that they are a MUST.
The music genre he sings most in is called "popera" and that is of course a mix of pop and opera. Dimash told his range is over 6 octaves but also that it's about the songs so don't focus on his insane range. I did count that he plays at least 8 instruments. Dimash can also dance and he is a songwriter.
To be able to sing he does also sport. Now that is swimming. Dimash likes football and for a singer he is not bad with a ball.

My heartfelt gratitude to the reactors worldwide for your great help and service, so that artists can improve and or develop their talents and gifts at their best in order to serve better the listening public.
I still browse the music videos of Dimash from time to time to see what still store in there. I’m just wondering how much effort and strength Dimash had invested into it and to reach such a powerful voice and the many other talents that he had. Indeed it is really a great work. How he was able to develop such a heights of his talents is really admirable and worth learning. And it is much more beautiful because he sang it by heart, naturally and at his heart’s content with joyful disposition.
The discipline, dedication and high ideals in pursuing his singing career to the best of his ability the best he can is worth imitating not only in our individual professional fields but also in living our day to day life. Hope his listeners around the world especially the young will learn something from his optimistic views in pursuing his career, his persistency, creativity and perseverance. His labors and hard work are now indeed bearing fruits in abundance. And so my heartfelt congratulations to Dimash and to his family and all others who supported him all the way through as a musician. For me as a listener it counts a lot the personal disposition of the artist and the content of its music.
The power and beauty of his voice is so incredible even at his lowest and highest notes. Also the fact that, he is able to sing his music with ease and comfort in different languages and in various voices is really amazing. But some others also cannot handle and cannot even believe the power, the strength and the heights of his voice…and they said oooh… is Dimash human..?
I think It’s just a natural reaction that people wonder and probably surprise by it or cannot even believed it at all, it’s because it is beyond human expectation. But I believed and I’m convinced that Dimash 20 year’s cultivation of his voice and talents is no tricks and no magic at all; though he is gifted but his hard work and years of practice and experiences proves it to us and to the world … that indeed it is possible.
My other concern whenever I listen to music is that, I usually ask: WHAT MESSAGE THIS MUSIC BRINGS ..? TO THE WORLD..? TO PEOPLE..?
Although Dimash music are very good, full of content and meaning but I like most this music, because for me it speaks a message of truth, values and realities of human life. I feel that, it is not just enough to give my thumbs up to like this music, but I’m deeply moved to share something more about the richness and deeper meaning of it.
With due respect to the composers, writers and singers of these music for whatever their purpose and intention would be, will always take precedence. The thoughts that I will be sharing below about these music is only the fruits of my personal reflections based on the things that I highly valued and on how I perceived it myself and the message of this song that reaches out to me.
For all the readers of these reflections and commentaries about this piece of music performed by Dimash. If you think this is all helpful for the general public you can share it to others, I do really appreciate it. Or maybe you might have a different reflection experience of this music than mine; you can always revisit this music or other music of Dimash on line. Your own personal comments and critique to this commentary and reflection is very much welcome and highly appreciated too.
Song of Dimash in French “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” (Ester Rabi’s Commentary & Reflection on this song: I like this music because it reminds me the Truth, Realities and Precariousness of Human Life particularly Suffering and Death)
STORY BEHIND THE SONG: Credit to Daniel Balavoine the original artist of this song who had a sudden death in a helicopter accident in 1986. Later, it was covered by Gregory Lemarchal, a young French singer who inspired Dimash to sing “SOS d'un terrien en detresse” who at all odds won the 4th series Reality TV Program Star Academy, despite his failing health and became an overnight success in France but had a shorter career, for he died young with his unusual illness of Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 at the age of 23. Recently it was unbelievably covered by Dimash and from time to time Dimash sung it in memory of his great friend Denis Ten an Olympic figure skater from Kazakhstan who was stabbed after a dispute with people who allegedly tried to steal a mirror from his car in his home city of Almaty. He died of massive blood loss from multiple wounds at the age of 25 in 2018. That is why this song is sad mention in some of the lyrics…A soul’s plea for help or an earthly being in distress. .
Suffering and death is one of the realities of human life. It is important that we should know the basic truth about it, so that it will not cause us fear and distress in our human life’s , but rather to remind us all of our ultimate destiny as people of faith.
For me, there are 3 kinds of suffering we experienced in life: 1st suffering that God allows, 2nd suffering which is the results of our own choices and decisions and 3rd is the suffering which is cause by other people to us. In whatever forms of suffering we are experiencing, know that, if it is discern well it will gain us eternal merit. Note that it is not important how much and how long we suffer, or who cause us to suffer, but how is our attitude towards it when it comes into our life…? All of these three can be an opportunity or a means of grace that we will grow in virtue, when we accept it with great humility and discernment.
Our usual human tendency is, if we can, we try to avoid any pain and suffering in our life. However we can’t deny also that life is mixed up of many learning experiences both in joys and in difficulties and I supposed we need it both, because it contributes and helps us mature and grow in many aspects of life. Suffering and death may seem contrary to our own human thinking or world’s way of thinking but in it, there’s a certain wisdom which is richer and deeper that no one can fully understand. Suffering reminds us the real fact that we are all fragile human beings; that we are limited and we are not God.
Sufferings are human reality and consequences of sin that affects us all. It helps us see the real worth and value of things and meaning in life. Likewise, if we are open to grace it helps us become vulnerable, sensitive and compassionate to others. It sharpens our awareness that this earth is not our permanent and true home. We should remember that we are only strangers and pilgrims on this earth” St. Paul reminded us that “the sufferings of this present time are nothing to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us later.
Suffering purifies and refines us of any life’s superficiality into an authentic one. Though no one really is actively searching for suffering in his / her life, but honestly truth compels us to admit that sufferings do have a great value in our life and by experiencing it personally in reality, you will never be the same person. The hope of heaven gives us joy even in the sufferings of this life. In God’s plan, human beings were created for holiness and eternal life with him. But through the original sin that enters into human lives, our nature has been wounded, and we experience suffering and death. This was not part of God’s original plan, but it is part of the reality of our human lives now.
Death for us is a frightening mystery because we are being stripped off of all our attachments to this world; our body lies corrupt; our immortal soul goes to meet the Lord. We will see the whole truth of our lives, and we will face God’s judgment. Death creates in us a feelings and emotion of fear, separation, sadness and pain. Many times we evade this reality and we try to question and argue with God why…? But all our efforts failed because whether we like it or not at the end, we all die. Death comes in our life anytime anywhere. No material things, good health, young age can guarantee of its extension.
If this life were the only one we had, death would definitely be the great tragedy. But In God’s plan, however, death is not the end of everything, but the border that enables every human being to enter the endless place of eternity. For all those who have done their best to respond to God’s grace, to die is to cross from an imperfect type of existence into a new and fuller life lived in God’s presence. Often we feel the greatest misfortunes, when death struck in a person, depriving him or her greatest treasures a person can possess which is life itself. Death is such a peaceful event in our life if we die in the state of grace, meaning if we died reconciled with God and at peace with others.
Death is the end of our earthly life. Our lives are measured by time, as with all other living beings on earth. Since it is unknown to all of us the time of our death, therefore, it is best that we should prepare at all times, otherwise we are being caught by surprise of not being ready when God comes to take us to be with Him forever in our eternal home in bliss.

@@missemmy246 read it all till the end pls ( i wrote it 1&half hour))...SO- i bet 100$ that after ep 6 "Adagio" (ep 5 just skip- cause it was an experiment from creators give him a non vocal pop song- Uptown Funk) so ye it was funny but nothing incredible....other songs he choosed by himself)- you will become totally a Dear- thats how he calls his fans))- and that was just the begining- he has some performances from last year and especially this 2019- that show us how he grew up vocally and he became a beast not in terms of vocals-that he already was- but his presence on stage is phenomenal- he staying in one place,or sitting give you so much emotions that people cry in the audience!Other singers could cry on stage but you will feel this fake tears- but with him practically all his best performances are goosebumps and maney, especially woman cry, when he sings about love- cause the lyrics of his russian and chinese songs are very deep and he lives them on stage- he put songs through his body literally! (sorry for mistakes and my bad english , i am not from english speaking country- only what i learned in school). But be aware that many songs from original channels doesnt have subs- but the song has a storu behind it, so there are some DEARS here that made translations to his non english songs (not all) and one woman Gloria Wu even did researches on his chinese songs on this show and put it on his channel- so some songs you got to watch there to understand whe Chinese audience when he sang 2 songs- cryied...there are sad stories behind making and texts of those songs so after you Finish reactions read your comments i will write wich songs and where to watch them with subs at least so you can understand it!... For examle after ep 3 that you will react after Opera nr2 (it will be "Show must go on" by Queen and Freddy Mercury) will be ep 4 Late Autumn in chinese that he didnt even knows- but he learned the song in one fcking week!!!Chinese in one week!!! i one word in chinese will remember only in 1 week- but he learned and sang the whole song...( his native are Kazackh and Russian languages cause his republic of Kazachstan was a part of USSR- like mine Moldova- and of course people in every of each of the 15 ex republics from USSR know russian very well, like i am..- i know russian, romanian (cause Moldova was part of Romania and we have same language) and English, i understand very well but without any practice for 15 years since i termined studies i speak and write kinda bad, aaa nevermind))....and its a sad song with great story- so this "Late Autumn" is must watch at Gloria Wu channel!!!- She tells us story behind it and translated it from chinese, so i will sub and sometime will give you the links from what channel to watch him, but at the ending of every video just tell next song or ask what song to react, and i will give you his performances in chronological order- so you will see how he was changing since the begining of 2017- it when this show "I am a singer 2017" was aired! i think its the most right way to see him from begining in cronological order!Cause he sang the same songs on other concerts but for example S.O.S he sang in July in his native town but it was a little bit different from Singer, so just watch comments i will try to watch your reactions and immediately give you the link or the name of the songs which was next and i will give you the best links were quality is better cause on some concerts we couldnt see him!He was shown only 3 times by 5 seconds (cause he sang in this year opening ceremony of 2nd European Games and producer of broadcast during his great performance just was showing how 4 exathletes carried a flag for 5 minutes!!!But as i said Dimash not only a vocal alien, he is one of the most interesting singers to watch- his face shows all of his emotions, and as i said he just lives his songs!! sorry for so much text and information- but its for your benefit to know were to look, and expect, and your after some of my
Hints and help will be able to navigate by yourself-knowing when he sang and where)))So good luck miss or missis, and keep going with Dimash- and you will see how many comments you will get from his fans! and many new subs from all over exUSSR- especally Kazakhstan and Russia!!They adore him and love to see new reactors and their faces when he do something crazy vocally!Especially we love vocal coaches who, in every Dimash performance see something new,unusual,and crazy for them ( we simple people just hear high notes and low one- but you alredy watched SOS, so watch "Vocal coach reacts to Dimash SOS"- and you will see how coaches who teaches hundreds ,thousands of people, and theirs pupils get some prizes at singing competition, so when they hear only one song from him- more often that this one ,SOS,their first meeting with DQ///.... and no one, i mean no one remained unshocked- and i saw about 100 reactors and 30 vocal coaches here on YT, so those 30- in one voice say that this guy is not human, cause to change the register from low to high so fast and clean, and to hit the highest notes possible and even impossible like he does! !So coaches without seeing others video say practically same things- that he is the best vocalist today in the world in terms of his tembre abilities he can sing in 4-5 styles, falceto,soprano.tenor,barriton and bas and beside it, they mention so many vocal termins ,that even i, who doesnt have musical hearing and voice (i just cant sing in rythm and tone of the song) remembered it- vibrato,stakkato,high pitch notes e t.c.... so if you want just check reaction of vocal coaches to SOS- by the way its a cover of the original, and his greatest performances that made him famous in 2017-18 were covers BUThe changes them so unbelievably good and unique, that they (vocal coaches) remain in shock, AS THEY SAY- EVERY SONG THAT HE MADE COVER off- he maded HIS OWN, cause vocally he changes it all, notes, tembre of the voice- parts with high notes he does very quietly and vice versa ( you will see it in ep 3 on Singer 2017 "Show must go on")..So good luck with your journey in Dimashland, and wish you to hit 20k subs in a month))Cause i will give you links to 2 russian female singers: a girl- now 16, and a lsdy looking like 22-25 but she is in her early 30s!And trust me reactions to those 2- especially girl will attract to you thousands of russian, of course the YTube hype, the major hype was half a year ago when she won some show, but till now many reactors, react to her- and they hmmm remain in a shock like with Dimash cause of her age when the show was broadcasted- 15 y/o and her voice..... well i will give you on next reactions her name and other woman- and expect many Russian comments and likes, and i hope subs! And last thing ( by the way your name is Emmy?) P.S: Edit- while I was writing this comment,and pressed Save, i saw that somebody already mentioned this girl- Diana Ankudinova- and she has too...., cronological performances from great, to unbelievable- and if you would want to react to her, mixing with Dimash, her 1st appearence on russian Tv show"Ты Супер" was with song "Derniere Danse" ( a short ,2 and a half minute long ,video with 4 judges like in Voice,only that they can see contestants and it's green- short, cause they cut a little bit her performance, because in audition you got only 2 minutes of TV time,but anyway they "left" all the goodies to us viewers). In this show performances, which she won 2 years in a row...( 2nd year was Super season,were winners or the best kids were competing- and they gave her the Grand Prix- they understood that she again was winning one way and created a special prize,1st place judges gave to other talented boy,and for her they invented like super prize- Grand Prix of this show)), she went from good to unbelievable,this performance was when she was still 14,a month prior to 15y.o)) And other singer is Polina Gagarina- like Dimash she was on Singer ,...only this year, 2019)) And Polina-you got to start with "Cuckoo" "Кукушка" in russian.Good luck Emmy( i think its your name)

It is opera, classically trained but chose to go this route instead of joining an opera troop. His mother a is an opera star. BTW the sound on your channel is great. Listen again so you can hear that ending. This is Singer2017 and he was 21yrs.
