I've report cheats, log in next day, get that message: thanks for your report. That tells you he got ban. I have seen a guy disconnect right after I reported. I think it comes down to how many reports the cheater has had.
I got multiple players kicked by ricochet over a last year. Maybe ~50% of my reports in killcam results in kick. (i do not report often) And not a week or sometimes a day goes by without someone calling me a cheater.

I was playing with a random on Ashika island, who also admitted cheating as i thought something was a bit suss he ripped through the players like nothing so i asked and he said i sure am, everyone else is so i might as well join them, i think he just wiped the last team out and right in front of me just disappeared, i said wtf he said just een banned again time for a new account, he said he had walls, aim bot, everything and paid £4 a month

He probably didn’t get banned, whatever cheating software he’s using probably has a automatic close game or lobby function. I’ve seen some cheaters who told me their stuff just pulls them from the game and or closes it whenever a report comes in. Even instantly. But could’ve been for sure lol funny vid either way
