Exactly, they are friends because they belong to the same social class and share a common history in the village, but it would be cool to jave some kind of rivalry.
I think Catherine is crushing hard on Damon! Because he's everything she shouldn't want. A rebellious teen with a big heart, who stands up to people he doesn't respect and doesn't give a damn about money. I think she hates the fact that Damon is in a happy relationship with someone who's just like him .. Poppy. Who she had a tentative friendship with before she found out about them. Maybe she was about to change with Poppy's positive influence. But after having her heart broken by those two, she became the ultimate 'mean girl'. And I think Poppy still doesn't know why her former friend turned on her and is kinda sad about it. Just an idea though :)
Jonathan makes me want to instinctively cover my drink, I bet Beatrice and Hillary are more frenemies than actual friends, and that Beatrice and Henry cheat on each other constantly. Maybe there's a mistress and a love child somewhere in the village who Henry pays off to keep quiet. You did a build awhile back where the fence didn't line up in the front and had an odd post (like this one) and you said something along the lines of the fence builder was drunk and he just left it there. Henceforth, whenever you have a screwy fence, which is inevitable "because The Sims," you can blame it on poor Ned: the pissed fence builder 😆 Now there's some lore for ya!
No, the policeman has a massive crush on the teacher, but she's still too wary of entering another relationship. So in the mean time he's having a fling with with the lady of this manor. His hearts not in it if course, he's totally into the teacher. But I can totally see him and Beatrice having a fling while he's pining after the teacher. Simularily Beatrice is just into it cos he's hot and more interesting than her husband, but still finds the cop totally beneath her "finer" sensibilities 😅
I thought Jonathan should be called Henry as well, to carry on with this patriarchal burden, haha. And he kinda feels pressured to impress his father with everything he achieves in life, because he can’t even imagine losing this property, land and wine brand?! And sharing all of this equally with his sister? That’s his worst nightmare, darlings.
That’s why he might be in conflict with his sister over money, because she wants to break the cycle. She might be a horrible person, but she got that proper education on feminist topics and she’s using that knowledge in her advantage. She’s also a daddy’s girl, she has already won the affection game. She also is in conflict with her mother, they have rather cold relationship.
This definitely feels like a marble checkerboard flooring and chandeliers kinda house. Always so exciting seeing you start a new build and we get to meet new characters.
Aden I swear you are making the village that I live in, Lord of the Manor is the landlord, horses everywhere, pub, duckpond and lots of interesting characters. Mind you the only excitement we have had this week, is a randy Jack Russell that keeps escaping to meet up with her boyfriend at the top end of the village. If we see her, we pick her up and deposit her back , another fabulous build coming up !

I watched a series one time that said when new houses like this where build in the 30’s … they had a hidden ‘safe room’ behind the chimneys so to act as a hiding place incase of a German invasion. It was later replicated in the ending of a book (name escapes me). Don’t know if it’s build possible, but I love the idea of a ‘safe room’ type place that’s been transformed into say an office ? A representation of historic past that’s been made modern
I think that if Lady Beatrice is living off the ancestral wealth & does not work, having a spa-like bathroom would be both luxurious & a bit of gameplay. A luxurious bath (or hottub or onsen), a walk-in shower, a massage table or a massage chair? Especially since Henford on Bagley so closely resembles the countryside/the Cotswolds, it could be an ode to the city of Bath & their history of the Roman baths and the modern spas in the city? Maybe the Henford House has the Natural Well lot trait from Eco-Lifestyle?
I only just started watching but I’m now imagining that there was a Henry V but he made a friend his parents didn’t approve of when he was a teen who made him realize that his family life was terrible despite all of their money and status and once he entered college he actually disappeared and hasn’t been seen or heard from in years. I imagine he’s been traveling, broadening his horizons with no intention to ever return.
After watching the full video I’m now thinking I’d love some signs from this storyline or something similar, like Henry V’s furniture or maybe trophies or pictures hidden away in a store room somewhere.
I LOVE THAT IDEA, OMG! And he’s definitely doing something not very old money related, he’s a traveler, a little bit on the hippie-boho side. And he has long hair, probably being cool af pansexual sweetheart :c ♥️

Maybe a "gentleman's" room/parlor inside the house? With card table and bar or something. Also as it is two different tones/brick etc, perhaps their was a fire in the upper part of the house in another generation and this was there way of keeping it to it's original style without having to tear the whole thing down or something? Im loving this let's build the world so much!

Aden there’s this trick where you could make the posta between the fence go away. You hammer down one piece and let one stay, hammer down next one and so on. Then you add back the gate and you will have one nice fence without the posts! Sorry for my bad English it’s not my first language 😅 hope you get what I mean. I learned that trick from Sydmac!
I feel like this house should definitely have Downton style servants quarters in the basment with a separate entrance around the side. You could have a wine cellar or turn part of it into a secret family vault
They should do climbing roses also would be lovely. They need to do a pack for just gardening with lots of flowers and blooming trees and bushes. All kinds of decorations for your yard like birdhouses, windchimes, hummingbird feeders and so on and so on. Back to your build most old estates had a coach house behind the house with a apartment on top for the driver. Don't know if you have room. The apartment could be the butlers. They usually turn the coach house into s garage. Are they going to have any animals?❤😊

I think there should be a third, often forgotten child who is always defending his parents and siblings and acts as kind of the mediator between the family and the rest of the world… poor kid ! Also, would love to see a staff kitchen in the basement, akin to Downton Abby!

So I stumbled upon your channel last night with the two tile town house and I'm infatuated. You're designs are incredible!! I have a few thousand hours in Sims 3 and you're making me want to get a better computer so i can play Sims 4.
Looking stunning already! There's a nice stone trim in the Journey to Batuu pack. It comes in both a row of three and a longer row (about 10 I think). I use it for my garden edges all the time.
Where I live in California the wineries purchase grapes from people who grow vines on their own property. For example my in-laws have neighbors whose hillside is a vineyard and one of the wineries in town purchase their grapes. All the owners have to do is grow them, someone comes out to harvest. I think that would be an interesting addition to the world!
I think the son Johnathan is in love with someone who isnt in an aristocratic circle in Henford or Willow Creek. No one knows they're having a relationship because he doesnt want the family to interfere with their money and old rules.
Concerning the fence - to make it sit right in the middle, couldn't you move the house to match with the front door? I really enjoy watching your videos and your storytelling 😍
id love to see a music room, maybe where there daughter gets private tutoring. As all fine young ladies should do. A library, a gentleman's smoking room somewhere after dinner where Lord Henry goes and maybe his son could be off from the library. I could see more sitting areas than sims really.

I'm not sure what you have planned for the small village but I think a disgruntled former employee who was unfairly let go (maybe a gardener) of Henford House could live there and maybe they have some plans for revenge on the Henford family...

You can fix the fence in the front of the house it’s been a while since I built on the sims but if k remember correctly you delete the piece and then use the arrow to drag it over i know it’s fixable it was a pet peeve of mine when I used to build

Hey Aden, this world file is so far winning by a country mile for me (pun intended!!) I have loved all of the builds and the historical aspects you have shown in the walkthroughs, and the underlying narrative of the murder/whodunnit! You're given Only Murders in the Building a run for its money and that's saying something because a new series has just come out!! I was thinking, when introducing the Henford family, you mention how all the male heirs/ancestors are called Henry and Henry's son is called Jonathan. I thought it would kind of fit in with the douchebag nature of the family and the character (and I know this is sometimes done in real life) where they choose to go by their middle name instead of their first name, but then when they are introducing themselves, they still use the first name, but initialised, so Jonathan would introduce himself like, "Hello, I'm H.Jonathan Henford." I mean, I can just hear him saying it and want to slap a great big rubber dick on his forehead, but I think that would be how he rolls. His friends at university would probably call him Aitch-John or Aitch-J. I really hope you enjoy the suggestion, it got a bit Saltburn, but I was just feeling that for the character. Can't wait to see more! x

If you ctrl and delete the fence by drawing then redraw the fence in, sometimes it changes where the fence posts are, not always though x

My brain is fried so I can't think of a storyline but I'd love to see a wine cellar- and to get to it there's a hallway with dark lighting, stuffy vibes and antiques on pedestals, ornate paintings of their great great grand bla blah- with a secret door, that leads to a paranormal room C: you can use the crystal pack to add trinkety bits.

Looking stunning already! There's a nice stone trim in the Journey to Batuu pack. It comes in both a row of three and a longer row (about 10 I think). I use it for my garden edges all the time.
I would like to see an "Onslow" on Lady Beatrice' side.
Where I live in California the wineries purchase grapes from people who grow vines on their own property. For example my in-laws have neighbors whose hillside is a vineyard and one of the wineries in town purchase their grapes. All the owners have to do is grow them, someone comes out to harvest. I think that would be an interesting addition to the world!

I think Project Rene is still being worked on, but EA is keeping it close to the vest at the moment. I love your builds no matter what you are building. Would love to have your other Save files for Newcrest, Willow Creek and Brambleton Bay.

You can fix the fence in the front of the house it’s been a while since I built on the sims but if k remember correctly you delete the piece and then use the arrow to drag it over i know it’s fixable it was a pet peeve of mine when I used to build
it would be awesome if you did a history tour of the house and family

Hey Aden, this world file is so far winning by a country mile for me (pun intended!!) I have loved all of the builds and the historical aspects you have shown in the walkthroughs, and the underlying narrative of the murder/whodunnit! You're given Only Murders in the Building a run for its money and that's saying something because a new series has just come out!! I was thinking, when introducing the Henford family, you mention how all the male heirs/ancestors are called Henry and Henry's son is called Jonathan. I thought it would kind of fit in with the douchebag nature of the family and the character (and I know this is sometimes done in real life) where they choose to go by their middle name instead of their first name, but then when they are introducing themselves, they still use the first name, but initialised, so Jonathan would introduce himself like, "Hello, I'm H.Jonathan Henford." I mean, I can just hear him saying it and want to slap a great big rubber dick on his forehead, but I think that would be how he rolls. His friends at university would probably call him Aitch-John or Aitch-J. I really hope you enjoy the suggestion, it got a bit Saltburn, but I was just feeling that for the character. Can't wait to see more! x
