Great vlog, inspirational to end. I ran the 102 this year after a hard dnf last year, i have already decided on next year, im coming back! The double okataina climb was brutal, i hit hard times at 41 miles, quads were cramped and couldnt run, it was a hobble/walk for over 12 miles, darkness came and i kept stumbling on the way to redwwods, knowing it was flatter and only 7km to the finish, i loaded up on caffiene before redwoods, i ran out of redwoods on what i can only say was a kind of sprint finish all the way to the finish line.
Just loved your video, your story, and your candid narration. But oh so inspiring! I agree, the Redwoods was an awesome aid station. Congratulations on catching up with your mates and finishing as a team.
I was at the finish on Sunday when you guys finished. Was awesome to see. I'd dnf'd the T102 at Okataina so it was massively inspiring to see all those who finished either T102 or the Miler well into Sunday. 🙂
Lol at you description of the las few ks. It's not called Sulphur Point for nothing. I used to live in Rotorua - I always found that geothermal bit scary cos of the hot spots. The smell, not so much.

Well Done!. I'm Simon's sister and I have found your video inspirational. You're all so brave and a little bit woo-woo!

Brilliant video Steve. We felt the thrill of the journey but could only image the genuine suffering and how you overcame it.
