Are u using that 4digit number? If you need precise speed data, measure rhe wheel circumference, from valve to valve, and enter that number into the settings.
3+1 is fine, 27inch wheel should be around 215.0 BUT for a precise setup you should measure the rolling distance of your front tyre. get the radius of your tire in mm, multipy by 2xpi, put that in your wheel circumference.

It's automatic, but the clock is always on... however still got you plenty of battery life, more than a year.
