How long is the whole thing once it is done?

Roughly 8"-9" long but that can vary depending on the style of mitten clip you use and how much of the 10" long ribbon you fold over.

You can use webbing. I would recommend cotton webbing.

How do you put your child's name on the ribbon?

You can try embroidering it on thr ribbon. Or you might be able to find ribbon with their name already on it. Check out the ribbon on Etsy.
